I think for zOMG! integration. I assume they share the guild 'shell' because that was easiest and quickest to replicate, and they can develop them in a different direction in the future.
Just speculating. whee

Myra von Whilhelm I curious as to how they exactly work in zOMG! Admittily, i havn't been on zOMG! in a while, but i'm really interested in this matter. This bears repeating. As far as I could tell while I played it was only good for using the Clan channel in chat (which didn't work most of the time). As far as actual gameplay went I never found a use. I imagine it was only to provide a place to talk about zOMG and possibly plan crews or exhanges (something that could have just been called a guild). I never started one, was only the Vice Captain, but did they charge to open a Clan like they do for guilds?

Nope, which is why a lot of guild owners were quite miffed when clans came out. I could be mistaken though, but I think the difference between guilds and clans is that you can only be in one clan? I could be wrong, never played zOMG. They still have to pay for extra subforums though.

The registry page is of course different, but there is really no MAJOR difference I can think of at this very moment.

They had to make it distinct as a clan enables GIM clan chat in a zOMG. They are basically the same concept with a different start up price and one feature 3nodding

Hell, every guild I ever baught period. smile lets see, 270X20000=5,400,000 Now im not being dead serious, just messing around. p.s I HATE clans. xp
