Helios looked about him, feeling a warm breeze that smelled slightly like cinnamon whirled past his head and made his wisps of white hair swirl about. He raised his nose and breathed the scent in, smiling as he did; few scents were as comforting as the spices used in baking.
He couldn't see anything past the end of his nose, but it didn't alarm him; he knew precisely where he was. He had fallen asleep somewhere, and he had been lucky enough to find himself in a dream where serenity prevailed and nightmares didn't intrude. It was like a blank canvas, ready for him to create in any way he saw fit. Focusing ahead, he imagined a road of prismatic glitter, winding off into the distance. As it obligingly materialized, he gently placed his front paw forward and started walking.

Blossom blinked twice as her senses returned to normal. Somewhere, a delicious scent rode the wind currents, and she believed she could almost see the wisps and curls of the smell. "Mmmm," she murmured to herself as she closed her eyes just to take in the scent completely. This time, when she opened her eyes, a rainbow palace surrounded her, filled with all sorts of delicacies. She wandered over to a small table, gently picking up a muffin with sprinkles and inhaling the scent before taking a nibble. "Perfect," she breathed. She hesitantly took another bite, as if knowing someone was coming but wasn't sure whether she should wait or not.

As he continued along the path he had fabricated, Helios was surprised but not alarmed as the fuzzy haze suddenly dissipated to reveal a palace that shone with all the colors of the rainbow, as though it were made of crystal. Intrigued, he walked up to the glorious structure, meeting no one and having every door yield to his inquisitive touch.
He entered a room that was full of what seemed to be all sorts of food; half of them things that he could not give a name to. But the one thing he could definitely give a name to was standing in front of a table, happily munching on one of the un-named foods. A smile appeared on his face and he quickened his pace a little, anxious to greet his friend. "Blossom! Hello!"

Blossom stopped chewing for a second, looking around for whatever had just called a greeting to her. Her eyes widened as she realized that it was her best friend, and she set the muffin gently down onto the plate as she hurried to meet him. "Helios! I'm so glad you're here!" She grinned, and gestured towards the grandeur of the entire room. "Isn't this place wonderful?" The sweet aroma of baking drifted around the room, enveloping them in a delicious scent. "I'd love to stay here forever," she added.

Helios beamed as he trotted over to Blossom, stopping right in front of her. Following her gesture, he looked around at all the piles of food and taking in the various aromas that seemed to hover around like a heavy sweet-smelling cloud. "Yes, it is.....it certainly smells wonderful." He looked down at the muffin that Blossom had been eating. "Though....how much of this is actually edible and doesn't just smell good?"

"I'm not sure, actually. Though I'm sure it's all edible if you want it to be." Blossom looked around the room, searching for something that would support her statement. As if on cue, there was a poof of smoke and a heavy blue book materialized out of the air and landed on the floor. "User's Guide to the Dream Worlds," she read off the cover page. "Maybe this has the answer?" She flipped through the pages and ended up in the food section. "Now...where to start?" she asked herself as she began scanning the text.

Helios' eyes bugged out at the appearance of the book, then chuckled as he heard Blossom read the cover. "Guide to the Dream World? I've never heard of such a book. Then again....I suppose anything can happen in a dream." While Blossom scanned the pages, he wandered over to the table to see if anything there looked promising. His eyes fell on a small jar that looked as though it was filled with colorful orbs about the size of a tooth, each covered in little bumps. A sign on the jar read 'Diamonds of Sugar'. "Odd looking diamonds....." he mused, and carefully tipped the jar over enough so that a few clattered out onto the table. He picked one up and popped it into his mouth, letting it roll around. "It doesn't really taste like anyth-" He suddenly felt a jolt running though his whole body and for an instant he felt as though he had the energy of the sun. He blinked down at the remaining orbs. "That was.....interesting."

"Hnn?" Blossom raised her head just in time to see Helios pop the orb into his mouth. Stifling a giggle as he froze a moment, she turned her attention back to the manual on the floor. "Let's see," she said as she ran a paw through the text and turned the page. "It says here that all the food in the Dream Worlds are edible, but only if you wish them to be." She looked up and around the room, searching for a test subject. "I'll try this one," she said, picking up a cupcake with rainbow sprinkles. She closed her eyes and wished for the cupcake to turn into stone, and when she opened them, a lump of rock was in her paws. "Cool!" She grinnned, and the cupcake turned back to its original form.

Helios watched Blossom turn the cupcake to stone, looking a little sad; that small cake had looked much more delicious than the little sugary not-diamonds that he had tasted. But when he saw it turn back, he smiled and looked about for his own cupcake to eat, preferrably like hers. He turned to the table with the jar, but instead of seeing the jar, the entire table was covered with sprinkled cupcakes just like the one Blossom had turned to stone. "Wow...." he shakily selected one and bit into it, hoping nothing would happen. But all he tasted was sweet, moist cake, and he closed his eyes and smiled as he chewed. "It tastes wonderful."

Blossom grinned, taking a bite of her cupcake too. The flavor was amazingly tangy, as if the inside had a filling of strawberry cheesecake. "Amazing," she mumbled as she tried to swipe the crumbs out of her teeth with her tongue. As she finished wolfing it down, she turned to Helios. "I guess you get what you wish for in this world?" she asked, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "If that's so, then I'm the happiest namir on earth. Or, I should say," she said, looking around. "The happiest namir in dream world."

Helios chuckled through the remnants of his cupcake. Swallowing the last bit with as much grace as he could muster covered in crumbs, he looked about him with a thoughtful expression. "If you can control the happenings of your dream, then you are in a powerful dream indeed."
He looked back at Blossom and beamed at her. "Although, I don't think I would have dreamed up such a place were it up to me; many of these sweets I have never seen before and could not possibly imagine what they taste like. Would this then by your dream?"

Blossom blushed, looking to the ground in a flustered fashion. "I guess it would, then. After all, I've always had a notoriously sweet tooth." She looked up sheepishly at Helios, but then burst out laughing at the sight of the tiny crumbs that littered his face. "I'm...sorry," she choked out, trying to supress her giggles. "Here, this will be better," she said, finally taking control of herself. She walked over to where Helios was, and gently brushed off the remanants of the cupcae off his usually serene face.

Helios turned about as pink as Blossom's flower when he realized the source of Blossom's giggling. He sat there patiently while Blossom brushed the crumbs off, then he shook his head to make sure they were all completely gone. Pesky food remnants.
"Are they always that messy?" he mused. Maybe if he ever dreamed of food, he would dream up the kind that didn't have crumbs.

"I don't know. This is the first time I've actually had a sweet dream, really. But I guess the first time I met you could be considered as one also." Blossom smiled, relishing the memory of their first meeting. "Anyways, what do you want to do now? I'm sure this world is full of adventure. At least, until I wake up." She made a face, not wanting to leave her dream with Helios.

"Yes that was nice, was it not?" He looked about him and at the piles of sweets, his gaze finally settling on the door. "Well, when I first came here, I didn't get much of a chance to see what it was like outside; perhaps if you came with me, more of it would come together and we could see what the scenery is like? Maybe it will be just as edible on the outside; wouldn't that be interesting?"
