Who do you think touched off the big wreck on lap 124?

I say it's one of the those racing deals. They were both racing for the Lucky Dog with rain moving in. You don't win races by backing off.

Umm Dale Jr. Vickers was blocking as everyone else does, Jr. went below the line and came back up and wrecked vickers intentionally. That crap that jr said he was in the grass... you coulda fit another car in between him and the grass. He deserved a 5 lap penalty and just because he's NASCARs pretty boy he didnt get it. Shame on NASCAR and Jr.

Shame on NASCAR and Jr. He definetely should have gotten a 5 lap penalty like Jason Leffler did yesrterday. That was retarded. It took out so many other cars including Kyle Busch. And that whole race kinds sucked. Of course the red flag would come out when Kasey had just got involved i a wreck and lost positions. Ugh! stressed

He was mad cause Vickers was blocking him when he was going for the lucky dog, and Jr. probably didn't know that he had a reason for racing him that hard. And the rain was coming so EVERYONE was racing hard. And I do think that Jr. did it intentionally, but he might not have been.

And he didnt need to abruptly turn back on the track like he did in the middle of the backstretch

Here's how I eveluated this...
Dale was probably driving pretty frusterated after he got a 1 lap penalty for pitting with his right front on the line in the box. I thought that penalty was kinda harsh, seeing as I remember a certain driver *coughstewart* nearly killing another driver *coughhackKensethcough* and the penalty being to start at the tail end of the longest line. I think all things considered, put any driver in Jr.'s position, they'd be just as mad.
Vickers knew he had to race Jr. for the lucky dog, and with the rain coming, that just made both of them hungrier, so desperate times call for desperate measures. I saw the block he put on Jr. I looked at that and thought, "Wow, that was a pretty ambitious block" considering the huge run Jr. had to the inside. Jr. was already to his inside and I fault Vickers a little for forcing him down below the yellow line like he did. Maybe it was just a miscalculation, but when someone has a run like that, 8 times out of 10, it's best just to let them go.
The thing that got me about Jr. was when he tried to peel back onto the track without really taking into consideration where his right front was. I think Jr. should take 80% of the blame for letting his frustration get the best of him, and not lifting off the throttle to make sure he could fall in behind Vickers. I believe Jr. when he said it was an accident, but to me that's just a rookie move to miscalculate something like that after the run he had, being that there was pleanty of room behind Vickers. But that's just me. So in the end, I think it was 20% Vickers fault, and 80% Earnhardt's fault.

Well....here's my thought on this. It's equally both thier faults. Here's my question for each driver. Why was Vickers blocking that hard at that point? Why didn't Jr. let up just enough to make sure he was clear? Think about that.

Well, Jr has been screwing himself over pretty much every pitstop that has has been a part of this year. Shootout, duel and 500, he was mad at himself more than anything. Vickers did nothing wrong, Jr has done that kyle Busch has done that plenty of times, they all do it. JR. just didnt feel like taking his time, because he was feeling the pressure of his continued mistakes. I think its safe to say for me, from speedweeks and how he is, jr is now my least favorite driver. he doesnt deserve the fame he has, yet he is an above average driver, but not as good as stewart gordon johnson kenseth and edwards. I will agree that vickers did make an insane block that most of the time will result in a wreck, but in that case, the wreck was jrs fault.
