How long had it been? A year? Had it even been longer? She could hardly recall considering how fast the year had zoomed by. Aysu couldn't help smiling to herself as she sat down on the same log she had picked out on their first date. It had been such a long time since Aysu had met Noel, and yet, they were still together. This wasn't just infatuation, or pure physical attraction, and it thrilled Aysu to think that.
That was why she found herself back in the not-so-frozen forest. The winter had been a bit warmer than usual, it seemed, and it wasn't quite as snowy and full of icicles as it had been last year, but there was still snow on the ground and it was certainly cold outside. Aysu sat with a wooden box in her lap, quietly hoping that Noel had gotten the message to meet her there.
Of course, with every passing moment, Aysu couldn't help feeling a bit nervous. Her heart would seemingly stop or a drop of sweat would drip down the naiad's face.
...At the same time, Aysu arrived a good hour before the message asked Noel to come meet her in the forest. That probably had a lot to do with the reason why it felt like Noel was never going to come. Of course, Aysu was just being silly and letting the nerves get to her. Things were fine. The naiad picked up her mostly frozen water bottle and sipped from what little water hadn't turned into an ice cube, before setting it down and returning her thoughts to the significance of the forest.

Noel walked through the forest with her note in hand. She was meeting Aysu in the place where they had they're first date. It was very romantic.
She walked with a blush across her face. She had seen Aysu a bunch of times, but everytime was enough to make her heart skip a beat. She then saw Aysu and called out to her and then couldn't help but speed up.

Was that Noel?! Excitedly, Aysu whipped her head around in all directions possible before spotting her beloved snow angel. Squealling in delight, she waved her arm back and forth and almost dropped the wooden box out of her lap. When she realized it was about to fall to the snow, Aysu suddenly stopped waving and gathered the box back in her lap again.
"Noel! I'm so glad you got my note!" She called, excitedly, while gesturing for Noel to come closer and sit on the log with her. "I was hoping you did! I was getting nervous 'cause you weren't here yet. Of course, I got here an hour before I told you to meet me. I guess I was just being a bit silly. Don't you think?" Aysu seemed just a bit more talkative than usual. It was hard to tell if she was being nervous or if she was just unusually talkative today.
"We met here a year ago! Remember? I scoped out the exact same spot. It's nice to sit here and think on how wonderful this year's been..."

Noel giggled excitedly and ran over to Aysu. "That is being silly, of course I would come." She pulled the other girl into a hug and then felt the box between them.
Noel pulled back to stand in front of Aysu and looked around. "Yup, I still can't believe it's been this long. But, at the same time it feels like I've known you forever."

Aysu nodded in agreement. "I can't really imagine life without you. It would be so strange and sad not to have you around, and yet a year ago, I didn't have you around." The naiad smiled softly, before patting the spot next to her so Noel would sit down.
The naiad couldn't help wondering if Noel had noticed the box. She fingered the top of the box carefully, seemingly deep in thought. The box was well-crafted... Oh, what was she thinking?! This wasn't about the box. This was about Noel. Why was she being nervous? It was just a bloody box. Well, it wasn't just a bloody box. In fact, the box wasn't bloody at all.
Aysu interrupted her own thinking by speaking aloud. "Noel? I've got a little something to show you." Wow, that sounded a little goofy. The naiad couldn't help the redness that developed on her cheeks.

Noel nodded her head in agreement. She couldn't bear to think what life would be like now that she knew what it was like with Aysu was in it. Noel sat down and looked at Asyu.
"Yes?" She had noticed the box, but hadn't really thought much about it. Now that her attention was brought back to it though, she got curious. What was in the pretty box and why was Asyu so red at discussing it?

The naiad's red-tainted cheeks turned a even deeper red when she looked down at the box. No, she said she would show it to Noel. Aysu, show it to Noel! "Aah..." Aysu nervously bit her lip, before shoving her thoughts aside and forcing herself to pull the 'wonderfully crafted' top off of the wooden box.
Within the wooden box was a somewhat large (but not quite large enough to be gaudy) medium blue aquamarine gem that had been fitted into a ring. The blue was reminiscent of the blue found on a clear ocean during a sunny day, or perhaps thin ice with clear blue water flowing underneath. The several lines and shapes on the gem shined brilliantly even in the low amount of light found in a snowy forest. The beautiful light blue gem had been placed in a simple silver ring that appeared to be a silvery blue thanks to the light refracting off the gem.
"I, um... I found this when I was exploring one day, and I... um, I..." Aysu was going from calm to stuttering maniac. She sighed, slapped herself lightly on the cheek, and then continued with a more steady voice. "I thought you should have it."(( The exact color I'm thinking of: Here. ))

Noel watched her get more nervous. Why was Aysu acting like that? When the prize inside the box was revealed Noel gasped. "Wow that's just gorgeous!"
Noel smiled over at Asyu, "You found this?" She couldn't believe such a beautiful ring had been lost by someone. "Really, to me?" Noel couldn't help herself and pulled Aysu into a huge hug, "Thank you oh so much!" She didn't know quite what else to say.

When Noel hugged her, Aysu was obviously relieved. She stopped sitting there so tensely and let out a deep breath to further calm herself. The blush didn't appear to fade at all, but instead of being nervous, she was happy. A smile formed on her face as she hugged Noel back.
"Oh good! I was so worried you wouldn't like it or something." Aysu whispered into Noel's ear, chuckling at her own silliness. "I supposed I was just worrying far too much." She squeezed Noel tightly before parting and taking her right hand. "Here, let's see if this fits."
Aysu slipped the ring onto Noel's ring finger--wasn't that the finger rings were supposed to go on or something?--and hoped to herself that it was the right size. She would hate to have to go fix it... but fortunely, it slipped on just fine. "Does the ring feel alright? Is it too big? Too small?"

"Oh, course I like it. You're so silly." Noel giggled and then let her put on the ring. "No, it fits perfectly." She wiggled her fingers to show the ring sparkle.
"I wish I had something for you..." She then smiled an ice blade came out of her finger, but curled into an ice ring. "Ok, sit' not even as near as pretty as this one, but maybe it can be a substitute until I can get one for you?"

Aysu giggled when Noel referred to her as silly. Well, that just meant that she could be even more comfortable with her. There was no reason to worry, even when she was holding a big present in a little box. "Aww," Aysu blushed brightly, "you don't have to give me something back, Noel."
But it seemed that Noel insisted. She couldn't help her smile. "Of course, I won't reject if you do." Aysu watched the small ice blade curl into something she could wear on her finger. Hopefully it wouldn't melt when she went inside her house, it was beautiful in the way that ice could be shiny and full of interesting designs. "Sure, Noel. It's perfect." She offered her hand in case Noel wanted to put it on her.

"But, I do." Noel did insist. She smiled as it seemed an ok gift. "I hope it doesn't melt. If I could figure out a way." Noel giggled and slipped the ice ring on Aysu's finger.
"I hope it's not too cold for you." She didn't want it to freeze Aysu's hand. She could help but smile even more at the girl sitting next to her. "I love you." She blush a bit when she said it, but meant all three of those words.

Okay, having ice on her finger was a little chilly, but she didn't mind it. It was something that Noel, her Ice Queen, had given her, and she would ignore how chilly it was in favor of smiling at Noel. "Ah, but even if it does melt, I'll still look down at my finger and think of you." And that was the truth, because Noel was always on Aysu's mind.
Her cheeks burned once again, and Aysu began to giggle. "Aww, Noel!" The naiad moved so she could hug Noel tightly. "I love you too, Noel." She would mean that every time she said that.

Noel smiled, "Maybe I'll find a better one that's not so chilly to replace it." Noel thought maybe glass, but that could break...she would have to think on this. "This ring will make me think of you too!"
Noel hugged her back deeply. "Can you believe we met through the personal ads? Who knew?" She smiled and looked in Aysu's eyes. "I'm so glad you answered my ad!"

"I would have never expected that the Personal Ads would have worked out perfectly. I mean, I thought it was worth a shot but deep down, I was never sure if it would work." Aysu chuckled, keeping one arm around Noel and resting her head on Noel's shoulder. "I'm glad I decided to take my chances."
After all, if she hadn't taken that chance, she would have never met Noel in the first place, and all of her days wouldn't be as happy as they were. "And I'm glad you decided to put up an ad! If it wasn't for that, I would have never seen it to answer in the first place."
