Shopping for baby clothes never was the best thing to be doing on a Saturday, far away from everything familiar, smack dab in the middle of the city, somehow saddled with one of Rai's friends. The man was pulling Maverick every which way, having him buy things, and generally confusing the poor man out of his mind. Right now, they were in a store called 'Baby and More' - with Maverick trying to decide whether or not to buy a gothic-inspired outfit for a child...

Korvan - Rai's friend - held up the outfit in disgust. "You want to put a CHILD in this?" he asked, glancing back at Maverick. "What, are you some sort of dark mage or necromancer?"

Maverick blinked. He was being completely serious when he answered yes. Korvan looked at him a little askance, shrugged, and slung the onesie over his arm, looking at another rack. He now knew Mav's preferences, and he was going for black and frilly. He held up another shirt. "What about this one?"

The shirt was black, and had long, frilled sleeves. It also had silver detailing. Mav LIKES. He grinned and nodded. "Yeah - and the pants to match."

Those were picked up as well. "This baby's going to either be gothy as hell, or very confused." he said with a shrug, adding a few more similar outfits to the pile in his arms. He picked up a few black diapers and one or two black baby bibs as he passed, as well as a few black socks. Dumping it all on the counter, he waited for Maverick to pay the whopping 2,340.60$ that the bill came to. So far they'd gone through the entire store, and picked out EVERYTHING the least bit goth. A black, bat-covered baby seat for the car. A black, bat-covered stroller. A few random black and red towels. A few black and red knit hats also went into the cart. A baby-bath shaped like a skull, complete with white skull-bottles for shampoo and soap. They had yet to purchase more diapers, a bed, and something nice to wrap the child in, blanket wise. Something -besides- the hideous black and red spider-quilt that the saleswoman had shown off. Korvan had sneered at her suggestion, and blatantly turned the other way. But now they had to buy the bed. Or crib, rather. And Maverick was really liking this goth-theme.

"Where to next?" he asked Korvan, giving a disarming smile. Happy and bouncy and FUNTIMES. This was not the Maverick the family knew. OR the one Korvan had heard about. So it was a little disconcerting. But Korvan gave a smile right back.

"We're headed for 'Gothnonymous'. It's a place a little out of the way, but not too far. It's got more black than you can shake a stick at. Black and blood-red and all sorts of junk like that. You should have a good time."

Maverick grinned, and studied his pink-painted nails as he walked, tugging on a lock of his still-pink hair. "Do you think they'll have nest-beds?" he asked, watching Korvan's body as he walked. NICE. But taken. Damn.

Kor shrugged, and made a vague motion with his hand. "They'll have everything and anything. Beds, baths, nail files.... hell, hair-color. You name it, they've got it. They're the biggest goth-store in town."

In his mind, Maverick did a private little wiggle-dance. He spotted the place coming up, and nearly dropped what he was carrying. The store was shaped like a giant coffin. And it was GIANT. Probably three whole city-blocks at the very narrowest point. Gods only knew how much was inside. He broke into a run. Korvan sighed, and took off after him. He made a private note to tell Raizen that his brother was behaving a little...odd. Though he seemed to be physically alright. But Raizen and Dragon HAD to know that already - what with Maverick's hair being pink this week, and his nails painted. When he caught up with the excited Arrikanez, they were already walking through the double-doors. Inside, it was like a maze of shelves and aisles. Maverick was in HEAVEN. Or Hell, depending on how you looked at it. He raced over to the baby section, and started looking at the beds. There WERE nest-beds. Lots of them. In black and red and all sorts of dark colors. Even patterned. Maverick's eye, though, was drawn to a particular black bed. It was a LARGE nest bed which the baby could grow into, all the way to adulthood. The blankets were black, and the sheets were red. No patterns. The pillows were just red and black. But the bed... the headboard was metal, black, and twisting. Shaped like the old gothy wrought-iron fences. It was love at first sight.

"I want this one!" he said, flagging down a salsesperson. He didn't even flinch when he heard the price. Just smiled, nodded, and payed.

On the way back home, he gleefully sifted through the possession he'd just bought, humming random goth-songs, and rocking back and forth. It was a good thing Korvan was driving.
