Call it luck, call it fate, or call it curiosity; whatever it had been Adour's life had been spared when she stumbled unwittingly into the lair of the Kalona Aveshar. When he made no move to kill her or run her off, the young filly simply..stayed, creating her own home in the dark woods around the stallion's cave. From time to time she would catch glimpses of her dark guardian in the distance or she would stick her head into his cave to make sure he had no abandoned her too. Otherwise, she grew wild and free, making her way in the cruel world. She became a fearsome hunter, a glimpse of white and gold in the darkness that would strike without notice.
And so it went from filly to mare. Her baby fat faded away to sleek muscles, dingy colors to clean white and gold, her short mane growing into a long, flowing mane of crimson and gold, hints of purple. Her legs where strong and sound. Her true beauty thought was her quick calculating mind. Seeking to be as like Aveshar as she could, she trained her mind, sharpening her wits to a razor hone, hoping to impress -him-.
Such were things as they found her, the coming of spring had just touched the woods. Adour smiled faintly as she regarded the budding life about her. It was funny that even here, in the darkest parts of the woodlands life was struggling to emerge. Her smile turned wicked as she casually stepped on a young sapling, grinding it under her hoof. Stepping back she studied the crushed plant before sweeping her long mane aside as she headed down the familiar path from her own glade home to the cave of Aveshar. Sure, he might not be home but it was time for her to check the scent of the cave to see if it had faded or if he still called the place home.

Ageless and ever-young, the Dark Fayth continued on like he always had: Mostly Alone. Granted he had his collection, hispretty things... Feathers from winds he had assaulted where kept like captive jewels in the darkness of his cave, ranging in color like a thousand flowers or shades in the rainbow of life... His living collection was no less varied, though the jewels were a little more scattered. The half-Kalona filly he had once spared -Fayth new why- was the closest of them... Though the groundwalker mare he had stolen from her mother lived not far off, and others were within cantering distance.... The rest he had to fly to, not that he minded. He was at the cave when he felt like sleeping or eyeing his collection, but otherwise he was about. Torturing and harrasing and harrowing... There was no shortage of entertaiments if one knew where to look. Today, for some reason, he wanted to see his 'protege'... After all, Adour would have probably died in that fire or been eaten long before now had he not taken her under wing... As it was, she was a fine Kalona... Or so he would imagine.

There...a flash of white a head of him. The mare was captivating to look at..captivating and familiar. Those colors..no it couldn't be...but it was. His little lamb was no long so little nor was she so innocent looking.
Looking up her lilac eyes flashed as a very faint smile crossed her lips "Hello Aveshar." The high pitched voice had settled into a deceptively soft tenor, smooth to listen to. "It has been awhile since I have seen you. I thought perhaps some ill had befallen you."
The slight amused curl to her lips betrayed that she thought no such thing, but it was as good as an excuse to visit him as any other.

She had grown. Of course he had expected it would be so... And was not wrong. A mare stood, mocking him, where a filly had once challenged. He still didn't know why he had saved her... But she was a much his as the others... More so. They were prey. Adour, Adour had become the predator he had encouraged her to be. "I am the ill that befalls all others." Aveshar challenged, plucking the thoughts from her mind and giving them voice. "You thought no such thing... Nevertheless, Little Lamb..." He considered her with a curling, mocking smile of his own. "You are well... It pleases me to see thus."

She laughed then tossing her long mane, it was the same carefree easy laugh she had, had as a filly. Her lavender eyes flashed as she gazed at him, amusement in their depths. "You look good Aveshar. I am glad." She smiled as she settled her wings along her back before she trotted around him lazily as if assuring herself he was well before facing him again.
"I am very well, I even have a few..pets of my own." She arched her neck with pride, as well she should be. She had watched him and learned her lessons well. At first it had only been to please him but now...now she knew why he kept his 'birds'. She would kill anyone who tried to take her pets from her.

"Did you have reason to think I would look otherwise?" The Kalona murmured, paying no mind when she disappeared from his sight momentarily. He could hear her every stride and breath, and feared no attack from her. When she stood before him once more, he considered her yet again. Pets of her own, hmm? For some reason, pride flared in his dark soul. He had taken a lost filly and turned her into a predator... A collector of the weak... A lighter version of his own soul, in many ways. And yet, still different. "A few, hmm?" He rumbled. "I am pleased that you begin your own collection, oh Lost One... Not so long ago you were amongst their number." He chuckled. She just hadn't known.. She knew now, that was for sure. "Now you are what you were meant to become."

That actually startled a laugh out of her. So she had been one of his 'doves' hmmm. Well it had offered her a measure of protection when she had been a filly, something that she now knew had kept her alive. Adour snorted lazily as she smiled, "I must admit I have missed you, from time to time anyway." She gave him a haughty teasing look.

Well, that was not precisely true, he supposed. True in the way he meant it, but not the way that it sounded. She had been one of his collection, but not a Dove. Not a helpless female, as she was a hunter. A charming little treasure of his, one of his collected souls. Listening to her laugh, he smiled faintly. "Must you admit that?" The words made him chuckle. "Ahh, from time to time... Well, I suppose that is suitable enough. I suppose that I could say the same, from time to time." And he had, now and again. So much time had passed. "What else have you been up to?"
