Stormwind hung around the edge of the ground, face tilted down to the ground so the bonfire couldn't give off a good glint on her horn. The 'Lover's Festival' was in full swing and like a fool, she'd gone with her pack to see what was going on. Ever since she'd stepped into the large, rutted out clearing she'd been stared at like some kind of freak.
Well, she was but that wasn't the point. Shuffling nervously towards a large grouping of red flowers, she hid herself away from all the onlookers. Something brustled against a thorn and when she tugged it away, she realized that it was her ribbon.
This festival was all about love. Love love love! After meeting with the overseers, your given a randomly patterned ribbon. Your supposed to meet up with a dragon with the same ribbon, as there are only two alike and become their date for the night. Peering guiltily across the ground, she tried to look for someone with a white ribbbon, tipped in red paint and thankfully, she didn't find anything.
Leaning against the flower stand, she closed her eyes against the giggling and laughing, all of the sounds of merriment while imaging beautiful singing. The same singing she'd been hearing for a while now. Its lyrical tune could always put her weary soul to rest and now more than ever, she needed to be swept up into its sweet embrace. She wasn't as young as she once was; she couldn't bounce back after years of disappointment and find love. Why did I even come here?

Avoiding the others as much as possible, Astra silently cursed herself for wanting to partake in anything with such a crowd of dragons. Her dark face flushed with the heat of the blazing bonfire where couples already sat each sporting a matching ribbon. That was a definite avoid spot for her especially on a night where it was all supposed to be about love.
Humming softly to herself Astra tried to figure out how to leave the place without anyone else noticing. After all she hadn't found anyone to match her ribbon, so she was definitely an odd ball. And when you don't fit in, you leave right away is how she thought anyway. Her star bounced on her cheek as she turned looking left and right. 'All clear!' She thought happily to herself before rushing quickly to freedom...
Too bad she had bumped into another dragon before getting away. Dazed Astra blinked at the other female dragon. As her vision straightened out from a white blur, Astra found herself stunned from horror. But unlike others she wasn't staring at the rainbow horn that this dragon had, instead her gaze was fastened on the white red tipped ribbon that was a match to the one she had been forced to wear.

Grunting, Stormwind flopped back onto her haunches and thankfully didn't knock over the wad of flowers. Her forehead throbbed and for a moment, she thought that the forest itself had attacked her. " What the-" Shaking her head from side to side, she looked up to notice another female dragon. Blinking rapidly, she almost had time to asses the situation when that stupid ribbon shined with the aura that says 'Look at me! Look at me!'. "-hell? " Oh, double hell.
What did one do in this sort of situation? If she ran away now, she might hurt the woman's feelings but if she stayed, she might just do that anyway. Stormwind wasn't known for her tact and at some point, she'd end up insulting the poor girl. Steadying herself, she took in a deep breath and exhaled. " In a hurry to leave? " Yes, please, say yes.

Backing away from the other dragon, Astra bowed her head. "I'm so sorry for bumping into you like that!" She apologized softly with her gaze on the ground. The star hanging from her horns caught the light of the fire and flickered brightly beside of the ribbon before she shyly glanced back up.
Hope flickered to life since the other hadn't said anything obvious about their matching ribbons. Eyes shinning she nodded, but then paused as she thought about their situation. Hoping that tilting her head to the side would be enough to hide the cursed ribbon, Astra finally asked in her soft voice. "Is it unlucky to leave someone unmatched in these events?"

" Supposedly, it is. " She smiled softly and copying the others actions, tilted her head to the side, allowing the soft ribbon to brush across her pale cheek in a lover's caress. For all its faults, it did feel rather nice. " They say that if someone is left alone without a matching ribbon that they'll be cursed to stay single for all eternity, not that I believe that stuff, mind you. "
It bothered her that the other female was trying to hide her ribbon. After all, she knew she was a little odd but the least she could do is reject her up front. " Of course, I'm sure that if someone was wrapped up in this unwillingly that they could leave if they chose too. No one is making you stay, cheri."

"Oh." Astra frowned though at the curse. Wasn't being single for all eternity her fate anyway? But a small smile flickered over her features at the fact that this other female didn't believe in the curse. "I guess then that you have someone to keep you safe from the fear of solitude?" She replied softly.
Eyes widening Astra blinked in amazement at the other dragon. "Really?" Her tail flicked behind her as she smiled innocently. "That's great!" Yet she paused and sighed. Surely this other dragon hadn't been forced here and she didn't want her to be cursed...but hadn't she said that she didn't fear curses? Frowning Astra tilted her head to the side confused. "But what if you do get cursed?"

Stormwind shook her head from side to side. " I run through these forests alone with only the wind as my companion. " She'd contemplated having a mate from time to time. Someone to share the good times with, as well as the bad. In the end, she just couldn't bear to stay in one spot for too long and decided against it. There was no way in hell she was going to be a cave mate.
Lining her forelegs up in perfect parallelism, Stormwind flicked her tail up into the air before wrapping it around herself much like what a cat might do. " Really really. " Honestly, her heart died a little more saying that but she wasn't going to make the girl stay if she didn't want to.
Eyebrows rising with amazement, Stormwind scoffed. " It wouldn't be the first time I've been cursed, thats for sure. No, no, you run along if you want to and don't worry about me. I'm sure you have someone waiting for you. Wouldn't want to keep them waiting, now would you? "

"Oh." Astra blinked at the fact that this other dragon was a loner like her. That was actaully surprising considering that she found the other quite a gem amongst the other dragons she'd ever seen. Especially with that adorable horn that was all rainbow.
Puzzled Astra shook her head at Stormwind and let out a small gasp, "No no. I can't let you be cursed!" Her green eyes flashed worriedly before she looked at Stormwind with a small smile. "I have....no one." She really didn't think that the small fairies and other things she imagined counted as real 'someones' to this dragon after all.
But really it was beginning to feel like this other dragon wanted her gone. Her tail flicked sadly, was she really that unwanted?

" So if thats the case, why don't we leave? " Stormwind's mystic blue eyes twinkled as one of her infamous plans formulated in her brain. " Since neither one of us wants the other to be cursed, yet we don't want to be here, why don't we leave together? Maybe hunt down a stag and make fun of all the saps around the fire. "
Truthfully Stormwind was beginning to feel a little weird around Astra. Her stomach felt like something was fluttering around inside of it and her heart was acting as if it might burst. Its her looks, thats all. Such a marvelous woodland nymph sitting infront of her, concerned about her own safety. She felt blessed and freaked out at the same time.

"Us?" Blinking at the other Astra found herself slowly nodding in agreement. "I don't know if I'll be that good at the hunting part." She fessed with a soft giggle, "But if it's what you want to do..."
Pausing the dragon realized something, she didn't even know the other's name yet! "Oh! I'm Astra." She shyly added before turning and flicking her tail at the other. Moving away from the crowds, Astra turned to look over her shoulder with a smile. "Hurry or we might actually be cursed."

" I've got you covered. " Stormwind tilted her head down, casting a side long glance to her pack members gathered around the bonfire. They lounged, laughed and....Oh, oh my she did not want to see that. Turning away quickly, Stormwind jauntily approached Astra's flank.
Astra. A beautiful name for a beautiful female. She was as gentle as the spring wind and yet, Stormwind knew she would not bend. Her instincts told her this, and she never questioned their judgement. " My name's Stormwind. What would you like this evening, cheri? "

Astra smiled secretly to herself. 'Stormwind' She repeated silently with a soft laugh. Despite not really knowing Stormwind, Astra decided that the name really matched the beautiful dragon beside of her.
"Hmm..." Astra flicked her tail happily, "Some deer might be nice, especially a stag if we're lucky." She grinned, "Does ze grand lady agree with that choice?"

Stormwind blushed, quickly turning her head downward, pretending to watch out for brambles and briars. " Anything sounds wonderful to me at the moment. I'm positively starving. " Although she ate deer on a regular basis and was feeling more into a trip to the human's goat farm, she'd eat dirt just to have company as charming as Astra.
She tripped on a root and teetered for a moment before catching herself. What's wrong with me? It must be her illness. Yes, that was it. Lately, Stormwind had been regurgatating all of her meals, sleeping much too late and just feeling....icky. Thats it, its got to be.

"Great!" A happy laugh light as the wind came from her throat as the dragon moved through the familiar path. But then Astra's body tensed as she noticed Stormwind's small stumble. "Are you o-..." Blushing faintly Astra tried to calm her rapidly pounding heart before looking back over to Stormwind. She might not want her to ask after all. "Never mind."
Her eyes narrowed, "Deer ahead." She whispered softly before crouching down and waiting for their prey to cross into the path.

Stormwind zeroed in on the same deer that Astra had spotted, keen to take up her position as Beta to the others Alpha for the hunt ahead. She slunk so low to the ground that her legs immediatly cramped, for if she was seen, a stark white in a dark forest, all would be lost. Curiously, she looked over to Astra, a pang of jealousy stabbing her heart.
Her was a dragon of the truest beauty; someone who could actually be good to others. It made all of her efforts to be normal seem downright...stupid. " You lead, " she replied, nodding towards the sweet morsel.
