Is anyone reading anything interesting? I'm in the middle of 2 books (1 is for work). "Sensational Kids" is a book about sensory processing disorders and is quite informative in a simple sort of text. it's an easy read. The other book I'm reading is "A Lion Among Men", the 3rd book in the Wicked series by Gregory Maguire. He's one of my favorite authors. I also like Christopher Moore. I think I'm getting a C. Moore book tomorrow since I have to go to Borders. ^_^

So, whatcha reading and what do you like to read (favorite genre/author/whatever)?

Lets see....
reading the "Death Note " manga (book 9 I think)

book 2 of Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series

various tech manuals (for school)

website building and HTML books (yes for fun and profit)

Like going between Sci-Fi and Fantasy and Manga
and classics of course "Sherlock Holmes", Edgar Alan Poe, etc.
One of my all time favorite books of all time is "Shibumi" by Trevanian(?) thats the only book he has written thats worth it, the other ones (like Eiger sanction and the rest of the series) are just too blood and gore not enough mystery and suspense. "Rendevous with Rama" comes to mind, and the series by Julian May any of his/her (?) books and "the Many-Colored Land" series are great, a mix of science and fantasy

I went to Borders today, just to help out at a fundraiser for my chorus, and I ended up buying 2 books. One was "Fool" by Christopher Moore (A hilarious author) and the other was a certain kind of logic puzzle book (i think it's called o'kami (or something like that)). i can't wait to read Fool. Too bad I still have a waiting list of books to read. xD i can't ever go into Borders and not buy something.

I'm the same, Blossom. At the moment, I'm working on the Corum books by Michael Moorcock (Really gritty low-fantasy. Totally metal.)
One of my favorite authors is Steve Perry, author of a sci-fi series I LOVE called The Man Who Never Missed. One guy takes on an entire army, makes himself out to be a legend. Never misses a single shot, one shot, one down, and doesn't even have to kill anyone. He basically wages one-man psychological warfare on an entire occupying force, ending with the platoon leader on that planet. Other s**t happens, and that's just the tip of the iceberg, but oh my god, if books were tasty, that one would be like...mmm...like bacon.

I'm in the middle of A Team of Rivals right now. I'm reading The Outsiders for work so I can get started on lesson plans. I also have about 30 student papers to read after I finish reading.

I also picked up a couple of books by Tony DiTerlizzi, but I'm going to send them to him, along with my foil terminates and a few other cards, to have them signed before I read them.

Wow, I need to go look at that book, sounds like something I could get into and different than fantasy, I like to switch it up sometimes.

hey, that sounds cool, never thought to do something like that. Not sure I have any living authors or artists that I like that much though.

I really like fantasy-ish stuff. But sometimes I wish I could get into sci-fi. I have heard good things about a lot of authors. I was going to read "Stranger in a Strange Land" but I gave it back to the person I borrowed it from. Once I get more read, I'm going to borrow it again.

yup, that's heinlein.

When I go upstairs, I'm going to read more of "A Lion Among Men" and hopefully I'll read more tomorrow. The pile of books I want to read seems to grow every day.

Every time I try Heinlein's stuff, I just...I can't get into it.

Now, William Gibson. *Growls* He's awesome. <3 Neuromancer for the win. It was my first cyberpunk book. Better than sex, I've read it twenty times.

I read the /most/ when I was in Jr. High. Teachers made rules about no open books during class against me specifically. It was ridiculous.
And schools say they encourage intelligence...fascists.

Yay! <3 I've started Coraline and the Princess Bride as well. Classics I ought to have read long ago, but had my head up in space.

I put A Team of Rivals on hold to read Assassination Vacation. It was definitely worth reading.
