Who: Vyn, Ethan, Rach and Niks. When: Mid-afternoon. Where: Florist. Weather: Crisp winter sunshine.
The delicate scent of flowers hung in the air of the shop, perfuming the room to a fragrance that no artificial perfume could ever match. The bright light of the winter day flooded through the large glass front windows of the shop, filling the room with a natural daylight that gave the place a pleasant airy feel - yet for the shadow frei it wasn't uncomfortable light - in fact it was quite mellowing and enjoyable being in the shop. The presence of the multitude of precisely arranged bouquets and plants made her feel oddly at home, even though nothing particularly familiar surrounded her. The only thing that she really recognised was the roses.
There certainly seemed to be plenty of roses at the very least. The Valentine’s Day research - that had ended with a little confusion with Ethan's receptionist - had revealed to her that the exchange of roses was a human affection of love. As she floated in the shop, surrounded by light and flowers Vyn stretched out a hand and touch the petals of one of the nearest roses.
They were velvety and soft between her fingers. A smile breached her normally emotionless face - that seemed to be happening more often now-a-days... Only a month or so after moving in with Ethan, the old man would be doing cartwheels right now if he could see her beaming over a simple flower. But as much as she would have liked to see the aged businessman attempt such acrobatics he was not present; he's left her in the company of the shop owner, an old friend, whilst he went to an important business meeting.
The owner, like Ethan was an older woman. Whose face crinkled into a well worn smile every time she saw Vyn, despite the glowering looks that Vyn had excreted when she’d first been dropped off at the flowers shop. However, unlike Vyn’s adopted father she didn't have the gleam of intelligence that unnerved the rose frei and so a comfortable silence had fallen easily between the pair. Now the lady, Vyn did not know her name as she'd been busy listening to her MP3 when Ethan had spoken it, was having a late lunch in a back room whilst Vyn drifted around the shop. It was quiet and customers were unexpected...
Although it was always possible a curious soul might stray from the street to investigate the floating torso visible in the front window...?

Niksia was wandering through the shops, a slightly random activity that got her out of the house at least once a day. The redhead's mind wasn't focused on what she was doing and so she slowly strolled along with her brown eyes set on the middle distance. Her front garden was suffering the winter blues still and there were no new flowers for her living room. It was just as well lately, one of her delightful floating pets had taken to dive bombing any display, leaving petals and leaves all over the floor.
Sighing softly, Niksia wondered if it was worth getting more flowers or not. She had already decided it wasn't going to hurt to look around, which was the first step in ending up with an arm full of roses or the like... Having a strange name, with a strange meaning, left her open to such a weakness.
Even as the mind tucked under flame shaded hair considered this, she glanced around at a nearby shop window and stopped without realizing it. A florist shop, which was spooky to begin with, and a red and black dressed person floating within.
Floating? Yes, floating. Imagination hadn't struck Niksia and made her a little nuts. It looked a bit like one of those Raevans... Taking careful steps, she walked quietly into the shop, already curious as to what would happen next.

Rachel found herself once more in the confines of the city, both hands completely occupied with two large brown bags for her groceries. Personally she didn't hold anything against the city, the streets were clean, there was a few tree's here and there, but it wasn't her 'home'. The country offered it's viewer a pleasant scenery and the smells that wafted from the multitude of vegetation was sublime, and gave it's keepers a homey place tucked away from the hustle and bustle from the city. Although the last time she'd been in the city had been quite a pleasant surprise.
She should have been watching where she was going, but instead she found herself highly attracted to the flower shop where the floating figure of a... What had Aki called Melisande? Something about a bird, she frowned annoyed that she couldn't figure out the name. But this one was quite different, she lacked more torso then Melisande had and while Meli had looked more human except for the absence of the legs this one looked outlandish; but certainly in a good way. Rachel was so distracted in watching the Raeven and unconsciously getting closer to the window of the flower shop herself, she never saw the woman. Not until she collided into her sending both bags of groceries to the floor.
" I am so sorry! " So much for avoiding people, she quickly bent down to pick up her things avoiding eye contact. Her French bread baguette was broken, the bags of apples and carrots had broken a bag, veggies were rolling and her cheese... She couldn't find it. Sighing softly, she stared at the broken bag silently cursing herself.

The clatter of shopping hitting the pavement caught Vyn's attention. She drifted around to look out the windows at the pair of passersby who had collided outside the shop. However the serene mood of the shop had been smashed and she was left unaware of what to do, it didn’t seem right just to continue drifting through the flowers.
She inspected the scene through her inky eyes. Vegetables were rolling across the pavement, a long stick of bread was snapped in half and a couple of apples had bounced into the street. The people themselves were also of slight interest; one had long wavy black hair and was presumably the owner of the slight goods as she was kneeling gathering it up, the other lady had similarly wavy hair but like Vyn's own hair it was red.
She bit her lip, torn between staying inside, after all it wasn't actually anything to do with her, or being pleasant and helping them with the problem. The latter would probably attract a few stares from people passing and there was nothing that Vyn disliked more than being stared at by strangers, but if she was nice maybe they would come inside and buy something and that would please the owner.. It was the least Vyn could do to thank the old lady for letting her stay in the haven of light and flowers. The lady might even let her back again if Ethan needed another day without her for work.
Taking a deep breath Vyn floated to the door and outside.
"Can I help?"

The impact jarred Niksia from her drifting thoughts, but not in time to catch any of the falling groceries. She cringed internally even as she knelt down to help pick everything up again.
'Sorry!'
Thankful at least for the shyness, or possible embarrassment of the other woman, Niksia did her best to grab the rapidly departing food. At least the lack of eye contact kept the awkwardness of the whole situation a little lower. Maybe. A fair bit of it seemed to be in one place, bar some of the freed apples who had rolled away. Just as Niksia was about to ask what else the other woman needed she got a fright and stared up at the Raevan now floating beside them.
'Oh! Hi. Sorry, we're just trying to collect all these groceries.' The redhead glanced back at the black haired woman and tried to look helpful, still clutching some of the items in question in her gloved hands.
'Are you alright?'

Rachel started collecting her things, with this mess she'd have to come back to the city -again- and she groaned inwardly. She had better things to do then spend her days in the city, although lately with all the Raeven that were appearing she felt a little pull on coming more often. The Raeven were interesting, and she'd never really been out to explore the outside world; maybe it wasn't such a bad idea after all to come out. And when Vyn came out Rachel slightly turned to her still kneeling.
" Oh no no, don't want to be a burden. I made the mess so I shall pick it up. " Although when she gave a glance at the scene around them, she would have gladly accepted help. Running after apple's wasn't her thing and she still hadn't found her cheese. She gave the woman she'd bumped into an apologetic look when she caught eye contact.
" I'm quite alright, I think the bread though and a few other items might not. " She chuckled lightly, she'd fallen off horses numerous times she should be the one asking if the woman was okay considering Rachel had been the one to cause the whole thing in the first place. Standing up, she brushed herself off and tucked in her scarf. She wanted to find her cheese before someone else decided they might like a fine cup of wine with some cheese and bread.

The woman seemed quite insistent that she did not require Vyn's help, but Vyn felt it necessary to point out that behind the ladies couched form was the cheese that had broken free of the bag. She drifted over and leant down, picking up the cheese that had been evading the black haired ladies sight. "Is this yours too?" She inquired, holding out the lump of cheese to the woman. Vyn felt a quiver of nervous energy rocket through her.. This was almost a surreal experience.. She was helping two complete strangers - Ethan would've burst with excitement if he could see this, it was so out of character for the reclusive shadow frei.

Niksia slowly rolled a stray apple between her gloved hands as she crouched in front of the florist shop. She smiled faintly as the red and black Raevan drifted over and picked up the other woman's cheese. A little laugh passed her lips at the increasingly strange scene that was playing out. Hunched over outside a flower shop, dressed all in black and red, trying to help a stranger and being helped by a floating torso...
'The one that tried to get away.' Niksia indicated the offered cheese with a tilt of her chin.

Rachel turned around and smiled as she spotted the cheese, she lightly plucked it from the Raevan's hand and put it back in one of the paper bags. Speaking of which, one of the brown bags had ripped and she'd be needing a new one if she actually wanted to make it back to her car safely. She didn't want to have to run into another incident again without the help of both of them.
" Thank you so much! " She almost forgotten to thank her! Her cheeks heated at the embarrassment of being slightly rude.
" Do you know if the flower shop might have some bags of some sort? I don't think I can stuff everything back into one bag since one of them is kinda broken. "

Vyn was just turning to go back into the safety of the shop when the lady continued to request something. She floated back around, a slightly worried yet confused expression forming - she'd given back all the food, what did she want now? The request for a bag actually seemed pretty logical and Vyn nodded slowly. If she recalled correctly there were some plastic bags tucked behind the counter.. "Come inside.." She replied, almost whispering as she glided to the door, slipping back into the warm flower scented shop.

Niksia got up carefully from her crouching pose, wincing briefly at the creaking sound her joints gave in response. She made a mental note to the fact that she was outta shape and outta practice these days. Still clutching the random apple in her gloved hand, she watched the Raevan float effortlessly into the florist shop.
With a little shrug of her shoulder, Niksia indicated the way in to the other woman. 'You first, I'll keep an eye out for any more attempts at runaway groceries.' Her smile was self conscious, but honest at least.

" Thanks. " She gave a glance around her groceries, deciding weither or not to try and bring some stuff in. She didn't exactly like leaving strangers to pick up after her mess, so in an attempt to try and fix things she picked up a few loose items and put them into her pocket. Then grabbed the still usable bag and tried stuffing it as much as possible with other articles then propped the bag up and carried it inside.
The smell of flowers hit her nose and she wiggled it slightly. She was used to the smell since she came from the country, though with all the flowers condensed she almost felt like she'd entered a perfume shop. Her eyes roamed over the flowers, briefly stopping on some of her favorite flowers before she spotted the Raevan and traveled through the shop to her.
" I'm Rachel by the way. " She would have extended her hand for a proper greeting but both were a little occupied. Her curiosity was getting the best of her, and she'd wanted to know the Raevans name.

The woman had introduced herself as Rachel. It was neither extravagant, nor ugly, and Vyn couldn't help but compare it mentally to the splash of yellow near Rachel. Simple yet pretty. Ducking behind the counter Vyn took out some plastic bags normally used to carry home plant purchases. Hopefully the old lady who owned the shop wouldn't mind if Vyn gave Rachel them - she was very much in need of them after all. As the dark frei passed over the bags she gave her own name. "Vyn." She glanced at the red haired lady, curious to her name. "And you are?" She queried. Judging by the woman's fiery appearance, Vyn would guess that she would be akin to the bright red carnations; drawing the eye with their colouration in the window of the shop.

Niksia passed the apple she'd be holding to the other woman, Rachel, so it could go in the bags she'd been given by the Raevan. Tucking her scarf under her chin shyly, she was surprised when the red and black girl asked her name. A faint blush rose across the redhead's face in response.
'Oh! I'm Niksia. Pleased to meet you.' The name came out as Nix-ee-ah, which made it sound stranger than it was. Shifting with a mild sense of nervousness, Niksia smiled at the Raevan and Rachel with a touch of embarrassment.
'Sorry about the trouble, it was nice to meet you both though. I need to go. See you around?' After ruffling her waves of red hair out of habit, Niksia waved to both and headed out of the florist shop.

Rachel blinked at how fast the red hair woman had gone, she'd barely been able to catch her name. Rachael shrugged and turned her attention to Vyn, she grabbed the bags and started filling them with her groceries.
" So... Don't you have an owner? Don't mean to intrude, I met Melisande's owner the other day. " And her cheeks burnt up and the groceries started going into the bags a little faster. She didn't know when to stop talking and curiosity always got the better of her. Though she was quite happy about meeting another Raevan, they were such interesting creatures and she'd hopefully meet the creator because surly half beings like these weren't naturally created.
