Update:

User Image

Pairings for Round 2:
I. Cracovin vs. Hachigoro (Cracovin won 2-1)
II. Greyfox vs. DBeast (Greyfox won 2-0)
III. The Lady Giyan vs. Gaghiel
IV. Jynx'd vs. Shiro Kai

Well...let's hope future rounds don't take so long >_<

Update:
A zip document containing the decklists of the entrees:
http://www.freewebs.com/greyfox159/Tourney1.zip

Later I'll have an actual list up, but at the moment I'm kind of in a hurry sweatdrop

As for Round 1, here's the first match-ups brought to you by the glory of random dice:

Greyfox I & The Lady Giyan

Gaghiel & Shiro Kai

Hachigoro & Jynx'd

Cracovin & DBeast

Update:

Alright the listing for the first round will be posted after all decklists are turned in, or at 12am sunday, whichever comes first.
The list below are those who signed up. People can still sign up until the first round begins. The names in blue have turned in their decks.

Edit: Since this is the first tournament of hopefully many, I'll most likely be lax on the deadline.

Update:
- Decklists should be posted here on February 19, 2005(Next Saturday)
I would appreciate it if players did their best to turn in the list exactly on that day, to help handle fairness in deck making or instead pm'd them to me. The latter is preferred since I will post a huge decklist of what each player's using.

- The first round will begin after all decklists are turned in, and will end the following Friday, which means players have oppurtunity to meet on there own time to play each other. If need be I will extend Round 1 for a following week.

- The medium in which players use to face each other is up to their discretion, and I would greatly appreciate logs from the players after they play if they are able to provide them.

Any players not signed up still have an oppurtunity to do so until Decklists are turned in.

Update:
The tournament will be Extended.

Because this will be the first tournament I'm holding, I won't include a prize or entree fee. Think of this as an experiment or something I guess.

Anyways, I'll make it Swiss style, so it won't really matter how many people sign up for it in that perspective.

The time for the tournament is not determined yet, I'd like to see how many people are in it before I arrange too much.

If you want to join it, say so in a post here.

(Original Entry)
As some of you may know I'm planning on holding a tourney eventually.
I've created a poll to ask my fellow MTG players what kind of tournament they'd be interested in.
I'm hoping to have at least 8 players, and I'll probably make it Swiss style, since that's what I'm most familiar with.
I mainly started this thread for the poll, but I'm sure you guys/girls are bound to bring up some good comments and suggestions.

Type 1 all the way!

Let the lunacy begin!

(if I hear there is a massive insurgance of players using burn/sleigh decks, I'll play my "Welcome to Hell" deck)

If I played type one I'd probably break out one of my reanimation decks.

Yesh, welcome to hell domokun animation is good as well. Ethier type 1 or an extended would be nice but it's up to the majority. xp

I prefer Type 2, being how I routinely go to FNM, so I wouldn't have to modify my main deck much for a tournament here. I will admit the other types would be a very nice change for me though.

Extended would be VERY great for me 3nodding

i vote extended, as i find it physically impossible to make standard decks (or at least very painful).

Oh, and what program would we be using to compete?

Since I and others have no access to Magic: Online nor the ability to chose from every card in the selected tournament type for their deck, I'd would strongly lean towards using Apprentice. Of course, I still need to learn how to fully use Apprentice, and actually face someone online with it for once in my life whee
