i've been attending a sort of arts class for a couple of weeks now and our professor came up with the idea of personalized projects 3nodding Since she knows that i am keen on the Lolita fashion and that i simply love to work with lace, she decided to give me the task of constructing a doll house xd Well, it's more of a doll room (the box that i'm using is 14" by 15", it's height being about 19"; the doll i'm making it for is around 8") sweatdrop i have bought most of the lace and miscellaneous that i need for it, and have decided for the dominant colours to be purple and white. i have also created a theoretical list of what the room shall contain (from the point of view of furniture): - a four poster bed (with curtains) - a vanity table --- bottles of perfume (X) --- a pitcher and a vessel (the kind that was used to wash one's face in the morning, before toilette rooms got popular) (X) --- a brush (X) --- a comb --- a hand mirror (X) --- a bar of soap --- a soap holder --- two towels --- a sponge --- a large, wall mirror - a sewing machine (and a small table for it) - a mannequin - candle supports (with candles, of course) - a box of bonbons - leather bound books (X) - paintings and photos to hang on the wall - a tiny doll house, with an even tinier doll
The things i have marked with (X) are already done. If any of you have other ideas to add to the list, i'd be delighted to hear/read them, as well as the way you think they might be constructed 3nodding This project should be done by the end of March, and i promise to post photos when i'm finished with it (if not sooner wink )

Maybe put in a window (use a cute landscape picture, frame it up) and put some curtains up. Does it have a ceiling? If so, a chandelier would be cute.

if you're going for an old time feel, what about a wee chamber pot? (Pun intended biggrin )
You could make it just like the pitcher and vessel (if you made those). You could paint flowers on it and keep it under the bed smile

I was thinking...rolls of lace and ribbons, on a neat little wrack. Little lolita dresses lying about from decisions on the days attire. Just make it looked tidy, but lived in. Even doll houses need to look homey.
