My Cat Brandy has a bad foot, he got into a fight with another kitty and now his toe is swollen and infected, so we took him to the vet and he said were gonna need to give him some antibiotics and keep him indoors till its better! eek that means we had to get a litter tray lol! and my other two cats are gonna suffer too, they are all outdoor kittys, so they hate being stuck in the house all day! Dx poor kittys..

I hope his toe does heal, the vet said if it doesnt heal it might be an abcess? - spelling?

So They all have to use the litter tray for now, I kinda feel sorry for them lol

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!!

Hhm, Me and my family haven't seen Brandy today, I hope he hasnt gone missing, usually he comes back home every couple of hours. But nobody seems to have seen him, I hope he's ok.

The vet said that we could let him out, so I dont think it could be much to do with his paw, maybe he will come back tomorrow moring, I hope so neutral 3nodding

I'm sure your kitty will be better soon. Infections in cats, especially outdoor cats, are very common and with treatment, generally recover well.

Only very rarely do we have to do amputations on cats from infection.

Continue to give us updates. Sorry I missed the earlier posts.

Thanks Xana44 & Kami! xD Yes, He came back the next morning. His paw is looking so much better, it still smells abit, but there is no more swelling, and the redness has gone, and he doesnt scream when I try to take a look at it anymore, so the pain must have gone too 3nodding

Xana44, Do you think his nail will grow back? I think he tore the nail from the root, so I'm not sure if it will ever grow back, I hope it will.

About nine times out of ten the nail regrows. But occasionally it does not. It depends on how much damage is done to the onchogenic crest on the bone. It sounds like it is doing much better. Cats are pretty good about healing stuff.

Yes, they do wink they are indoor and outdoor cats, they go out for a few hours then come back when theyre hungry/tired. My parents leave a window open for them, so they can come back in whenever they want. blaugh

Thats good to hear! He has more of a chance then of the nail growing back. wink I actually have no idea what the onchogenic crest is, but I want to be a vet when im abit older, so it would be great if you could teach me some stuff. lolz, if you have any spare time? I'm planning on taking some courses at a college called 'The Royal Veteranary college' my dad * older brother works there, so it would be good, but i have to wait till im 17 yet, im 16 now. so it would be good to know some stuff before the courses too lol
