It was night, and the sun was already descended below the horizon. Too late to read, yet not too late for a little exploring. Yukino ran off toward the beach. She could smell the salt on the air, indicating that it wasn't far off. In just a moment they would be feeling the cool sand beneath their paws. She was excited, since this was only her second trip to the beach, and this time it was with Castiel, a good friend. She thinks. Their relationship status was kinda iffy at this point since she liked him and he seemed to like her. Well, they're just friends. For now at least, she was uncertain about what changes the future may bring.

Castiel happily bounded towards the beach, being sure to keep close to Yukino. He'd never actually been to the beach, only seen it from high above. But it wasn't just being able to experience the beach for the first time that had gotten him so excited. It was that he was going there with Yukino. She was his closest friend; he might even say his best friend if he was asked. He seemed to spend all of his free time with her. And though he had no clue why, he was drawn to her. He got the feeling that she would always be his friend no matter what. That gave him a lot of comfort.
"You smell that?" he exclaimed as he breathed in the cold salty air. "And listen, I think I can almost hear it!"

"Yep! And I can hear it now too." replied Yukino, hearing the sound of the waves crashing off on the beach not too far off. They continued on, and, at last, the trees parted to reveal the ocean, and the dirt beneath their feet gave way to sand. Yukino smiled, and said, "We're here! Wow, it looks so different at night." She looked around, noting how black the ocean looked, though the sand appeared almost unchanged.

Castiel stared wide eyed at the dark ocean as the waves crashed against the sand. "Wow is right! it goes on and on forever into nothingness." He pointed out toward the ocean. He slowed his pace as he felt the cool sand beneath his paws.

Yukino wondered how far the nearest island was, and if they could reach it by boat. She took a couple steps out towards the sea and said, "It's easy to imagine there's nothing but an abyss out there. Well, except for the stars," she commented, pointing up at them in all their radiant glory.

Castiel continued to stare out to sea, wondering too what was actually out there unseen. "It's so easy to see the stars here..nothing to block the view." He flapped his wings eagerly, wishing he could fly up with the stars.

"Yeah," agreed Yukino, smiling. She enjoyed looking up at the stars, finding them very pretty. She looked on for a little bit before asking, "Think it's a bit too cold to go in for a dip?" gesturing toward the calm ocean gently crashing upon the sand in a rhythmic fashion.
