THE WATER FIELD!
Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to WATER type attacks. This field also reduces damage from FIRE type attacks by 25 HP

Zinnia happily walked into the stadium. She was going to train with another Rocket Grunt! Maybe they could be friends! But now that Zinnia had Shadow Mew, there was no way that she could lose. Hopefully the other Rocket didn't keep grudges!
Behind the energetic Rocket floated Shadow Mew, silent as ever. She viewed the stadium with her bright purple eyes. She did not enjoy fighting without good reason.
"Someone told me that my training partner also has a legendary pokemon," Zinnia said conversationally. She projected this statement to the mew, but, as she had expected, she recieved no answer.

It was time for training, and from what her superiors had told her, this particular Rocket had a Pokemon worthy of assisting in training Prototype2. Walking in with a serious expression upon her face and a kunai knife that swung upon a finger, the pink haired Rocket glanced across the arena at her opponent. She had been hoping it would be a strong and powerful looking trainer to match the strong and powerful Pokemon her team would be working with.
Boy was she wrong. On the other side of the training facility was a little girl. A girl that even looked younger than herself. Shaking her head from side to side, Kunai sighed as she grabbed onto her knife more carefully. "Seems like they'll just hire anyone these days..."
Once she was in her designated spot, she stated in a loud and crisp voice that was full of business: "For this training exercise, the guidelines are simple. There is to be no use of 'super effective' move types. All other forms of tactics may be used during this exercise." With the guidelines explained as briefly, but as plainly as they had, there would be no mistakes.
Holding out a purple colored Pokeball with an M on it, she hit the button and tossed the ball forward. "Prototype2, training exercise, you know what to do." Her voice didn't even seem to hold any sort of feeling or emotion towards the Pokemon she released into the battle facility.
With a burst of light, suddenly a six foot feline creature appeared, standing upon one of the platforms over the water. He made no noise, but merely glanced over to the scouter over his eye. His trainer's heart rate was normal, which ensured he was also safe for this moment. Though his posture didn't change, nor did he make a sound, he was completely ready for whatever was thrown his way.

"Ooh, it looks sort of like you!" Zinnia said, watching the Mewtwo. She then almost called out her battle challenge, but restrained herself, remembering that she was battling another Rocket. "Right, this is just training," she reminded herself. It would be a bit disappointing that super-effective moves would not work, but Zinnia had other methods! She tried to be more serious, but she failed. She just grinned and stared ahead, forgetting that the battle was supposed to start now.
Shadow Mew felt more emotion than she was used to. Her face remained expresionless, but inside she felt her heart twisting. That pokemon before her-- it wasn't natural. It looked like some attempt at her own species. But that wasn't the bad part-- it plainly had machinery as part of its body. Somehow, Shadow Mew doubted that the machinery was there for the Mewtwo's benefit. It was a way to control him. Shadow Mew felt angry that humans would do such a thing, but she forced herself to not move. It was none of her business.
Zinnia continued to just stare. Shadow Mew didn't prompt her trainer, so she was still watching her opponent. That pokemon looked oddly like Shadow Mew, it was true. Zinnia had not been told of the Mewtwo projects, being such an unimportant grunt. But since she had a mew, she had been chosen for the training. But that pokemon looked very unique. It had a machine on its chest and an eyepiece. Zinnia was really curious about those.

"Training Exercise, begin," the pink haired Rocket stated in a flat tone. Her green eyes momentarily took in the current location. It was a water type field, so such a set up would easily benefit one who needed water. Electric type moves could also benefit from this set up as well, but more for accuracy rather than damage level.
Now that the battle had begun, Kunai clutched onto her knife as if she was going to battle as well. Yet she didn't speak a word. Mentally, she began to give orders.
Water Pulse
The Pokemon didn't acknowledge anything verbally or within thoughts. Yet it levitated up into the air a bit as well as floating up a small stream of water from the field. He closed his eyes and took in a small breath. Then suddenly, he sent out a psychic pulse which sent the water spraying towards his opponent.

((That does 125, right? Even though we're not doing super-effective moves, the field boosts still work?))
Zinnia hadn't heard the trainer say any command, so she was slow to react. She finally snapped out of it when she saw the green pokemon attack, but she couldn't think of anything to say during the few critical seconds.
Normally, Shadow Mew would have just dodged or put up a force field when Zinnia did not give a command. However, she still felt a bit confused about her opponent and was also slow to react. The water splashed on her fur and she shook of in the air, watching warily.
"Um... Absorb!" Zinnia tended to use healing attacks, and it had become all part of the strategy.
Shadow Mew sent several bright green orbs flying towards the Mewtwo. This was a battle that she couldn't lose. She didn't know why, but for once, the battle meant something to her.

((yes, field boosts still work, think of it as adapting to whatever situation appears type thing 3nodding ))
Prototype2 did not attempt to dodge the attack. His trainer had set up the expectation that part of his training was to be able to take the hits, and so when his health felt as if it was draining from him, he hoovered over the water and took it.
When her tool got hit by the attack, Kunai didn't even flinch or care that it had. Any training battle would require some blows to be made.
Now that it is wet, use Thunder on the opponent she gave the command within her thoughts.
Upon the command, the energy around the Mewtwo seemed to crackle. And all at once, a bolt flew in the shadow Pokemon's direction.

"Absorb again!" Zinnia said loudly. She had to somehow stay on top. This was going to be harder than she had thought!
Shadow Mew did her best to dodge the attack, but the water below conducted the electricity very well. Her fur was still a little damp from the last attack, but now it was dry. And sticking out, charged with electricity. She fired more orbs at her opponent. Things would be getting tricky soon.

It would seem his trainer was calculating only one aspect of the battle, for though he was hitting this Pokemon, it seemed like it was recovering through stealing his own energy.
Again, no reaction from the trainer to speak of. However, Kunai was mentally analyzing the situation again. It seemed like this girl was relying heavily upon this healing move. As she turned a few ideas in her mind, she once more gave a mental command.
Water Pulse
Once more, he psychically began to draw up a stream of water from the stage. He floated towards one side of the facility, then sent a pulse of energy to cause more water to spray at the Mew. His trainer might have needed more time to come up with a better plan, but for now, this would be good enough to stall.

Zinnia was having a blast. "Yeah, go and Absorb again!" she called, grinning. Battles were so much fun! Why didn't the other trainer shout, too?
Shadow Mew did her best to evade the attack, but she was hit in the side with the chilly water. She created more bubbles of green light and shot them at Prototype2. The move was getting repetetive, but she didn't mind much. She was in need of the restored health, anyway.

This trainer clearly didn't understand the point of having a training exercise. Kunai stood herself up straight and mentally projected to her tool Dodge this attack by going under the water, then shoot another Water Pulse at the opponent from there.
At least he was gaining a bit more direction from his trainer now. As the green orbs flew his way, he dived into the water. Despite the machinery, he was quite safe from electrocution. For a moment, he glanced at the heart rate of his master on his reader, and saw that is had gone up slightly. Though she wasn't letting on that she was upset, she seemed to be getting a bit more excited in some sense or another.
The Mewtwo swam to a point underneath his shadowy opponent, then sent a pulse of energy towards the Mew again, this time having plenty of water in front of him for the attack.

Shadow Mew sensed her opponent beneath her and flew back. She was a tad slow, however, and got wet once again. She shook off and set her gaze onto her opponent once again.
"Absorb, quick!" Zinnia shouted. She was getting a little worried again.
Shadow Mew calmly shot the orbs down into the water where Prototype2 was.

As the action continued onward, Kunai debated two courses of action. She could either strengthen her Pokemon's attacks, or she could disable the heal-bombs with a status effect. Closing her eyes, she once more gave the mental commands Toxic.
Understanding what his trainer's thoughts were, the Mewtwo silently sprayed a stream of black gas towards his shadowy opponent above the water. From where he was at, he'd at least be safe... If this Mew was smart, it would probably go under the water as well to protect itself from the gas.

Having dealt with poison before, Shadow Mew merely created a large purple bubble around herself. The force field held only clean air, so she was safe.
"Ancient Power!" Zinnia shouted, trying to take advantage of the situation.
Shadow Mew let her force field go once she saw that the air was free of poison. She used her psychic powers to crumble a piece of a platform off and caused the pieces to whirl around her, increasing her defense.
