Dahabu lay curled up beneath one arching root, content in dozing and listening to the buzz of life around him. The little bugs and animals that dwelt in the jungle, the quiet pawsteps of the pride...The sun was bane to them, but within the darkness they thrived as their jungle did. They made their own light...and the black and gold cub thrived on that.
That, and Tani's lessons. Sure...he wasn't as smooth or charming as his mentor...but that didn't mean he would stop trying! He was still young, after all! And Tani had LOTS more experience. Especially with girls. The cub wrinkled his nose. Girls were a mysterious creature. His mother and sister didn't count though, since he'd known them since before birth!

Jasiri was bored. And when the slender girl was bored, bad things were bound to happen. As it was, she stalked about the living area...searching for SOMETHING to cure her boredom. She grinned when she found that cure, just laying there in the shadows. She had to hand it to him...if it weren't for his gold markings, she wouldn't have seen him. The daughter of Toshiro stalked forward, not bothering to be quiet.
And once she was close enough...she pounced! Her little roar was far from intimidating...but it certainly would get her point across. "GOTCHA!"

Dahabu yelped as something landed on him, flailing a bit before looking to see what had gotten him. He stared at the girl-cub with wide red eyes, breathing quick from the surprise. Uh-oh...Not good. He tried to smile charmingly, but the sheepishness showed through. "Uh...uhm...Hello, miss..."

"Jasiri." The little vampire kept her grin, golden eyes narrowed to give her a sly look. "Now why were you here by yourself?" She decided to put a paw on his forehead, frowning now. "Don't you have family or somethin' to play with."

The dark cub blushed, unsure of what to really do. "Uhm...I'm Dahabu. And yes...I do." He chuckled, despite the paw almost on his face. "But I didn't feel like playing tonight. So...I'm just listening to everyone. It's really nice." The girl's markings looked a bit familiar...perhaps he would figure it out later.

Jasiri purred and pat Dahabu's forehead. "Well, Dahabu...why don't you take a break from listening and play with me?" The boy had no idea what he was getting into...and Jasiri intended to keep it that way until she got him playing! "I'm SOOO~ bored, and I don't want to bug Daddy~"

Dahabu grinned sheepishly. "Uh...sure!" Give the girl what she wants, and she's likely to eventually leave you alone..."Ya know...you look kinda familiar, Miss Jasiri..." Perhaps he'd seen her wandering around. Or her parents. Yes...that must have been it.

Jasiri raised a brow and rolled off him to stand before Dahabu. "Really now?" She smirked. "And who do I remind you of?" She hoped her father...she did not want to be compared to her MOTHER. Let Komali have their mother's attention. Jasiri wanted only to be her Daddy's girl.

"Honestly Jasiri...I'm not sure. I just have a feeling I've seen your markings before." His sheepish grin turned to a kind smile. "Perhaps I've seen your parents while observing the pride?" That was, after all, the most logical explanation.

JWell...that answer was disappointing. And it showed in the way Jasiri practically drooped. "Oh. Well...I can fix that." She grinned. "I can take you to meet my Daddy. He's a hunter~ The best one in the pride." She was SOOO proud of her strong daddy. And awed. In Jasiri's eyes, the only male better than her daddy was Moses.

Dahabu chuckled. "Okay. I would love to meet your daddy!" She...seemed like a nice girl. If a little pushy. But he could deal with that. Perhaps. And if meeting her father made her happy, why not? "Lead the way?"

Jasiri shook her head. "Not right now, dufus. Don't wanna bug him yet. But for now..." She grinned again, this time looking a bit...scary. The black and tan cub bat Dahabu on the top of his head and took off running. "TAG! You're it!"

Dahabu sat there, blinking a bit. What...had just happened? He shook his head and grinned, then took off after her. "I'll get you!" Tag was always fun! Even if he did trip a lot over roots and stuff.
