Bright felt fantastic.
It was strange how these things things went. He couldn't begin to explain how he'd come to this point. For a long while, the stallion had deluded himself into thinking that he was following Ronnie about because she owed him, but by now they'd pulled so many heists that it was tough to keep track of who'd watched whose back when. Bright was certain he didn't want to try.
Debt and obligation were concepts that appealed to people who felt that they owned property. They were part of a social structure designed to meet the needs of the wealthy at the expense of the few. And who was Bright to support such an ideology, when he'd spent most of his adult life taking what he wanted from the foolish and unwary? He'd be a cheat, and a con, and a poor excuse for a gallant alicorn knight, but damned if he was going to be a hypocrite.
Bright felt fantastic. His lifestyle was fantastic. And that was all that really mattered.
He hadn't expected that taking on such a destructive an unsubtle partner would improve his game rather than detract from it. Turned out that it was easier to fake being cheerful and optimistic when you were genuinely happy. Nothing had changed about the way he affixed a grin to his face, but there was an extra light in his eyes that couldn't be faked.
Naturally, Ronnie had changed too. She looked like she had gained a little weight recently, in spite of all their activities, but Bright didn't need to be a gentleman to know that it was a bad idea to bring that up.
Instead, he turned his mind to more pleasant topics.
"Hullo, darling!" Bright landed in the clearing where they'd spent the night, feathers flashing in the newly-risen sun. He'd always been a morning person. It was one of his (very few!) character faults. "You won't believe what I've found on my morning fly-over."

Through the heists and the many stunts the duo had unviled against the unspsecting it seemed almost instinctual and deeply engraved within both Ronnie and Brights ability in deciphering the outcome as well as stratagies for any sudden exists as well as hoisting the loot from out of the scene. There was sure to be a group of disgruntled two leggers and their soquili who were alerting others or testifying to the attrocious acts committed by a unicorn and an alicorn, of all the breeds! Yes, it was almost expected for their own kind to have disowned them and come up with some radical explaination for their actions but what could be said? Reckless soquili will be reckless or perhaps it was better to say they had issues which were unrelated to their kind? But there was no cover-up for there actions nor any way to make it seem all but a simple misunderstanding. Both Bright and Ronnie lived for the thrill, the adrenaline rush and the sought after reckless run-ins! They thristed for it along with dancing so far outside of the lines and standing outside of the typical 'cookie cutter' crowd.
Why shed blood when you could shed tears? Blood, guts and gore was so grossly overrated that the strikeouts against two leggers and their 'civilized' soquili often had a better reaction and outcome than any unecessary violence. Senseless acts of hate and lust were to be left by the skinwalkers and kalons- they could do a far better stand up job than either Ronnie or Bright. Bright still remained the gallant, alicorn knight while Ronnie continued to be destructive, somewhat frontal and abrasive although together they were cunning, sly and knew how to get exactly what they wanted. It was not a simple game- it was a lifestyle of which they thrived together in! But as of lately the mare had felt somewhat sluggish, lathargic and tired- especially when it came to the mornings.
It was evident that she and Bright had fallen head over hooves for one another and their games but, at the same time, it was evident that Bright had not only stolen her heart but something else as well.
She was fat.
Amongst all of the running and rummaging they constantly, and willingly, endured throughout the day how she had managed to pack on the pounds were beyond her. She shifted slightly, lying on her side as it was more than obvious that her stomach was swollen, so enlarged that it looked as if she had eaten a bushel of apples by herself. Ronnie flicked her ears slightly, flattening them against her skull while pink eyes narowed slightly. But it seemed her mind suddenly was diverted as the boisterous and gallant stallion had returned.
She sighed slightly although never had Ronnie been so pleasent in the morning as she was more of an individual who was fond of the night but sooner or later she would learn to adjust to either times but, for now, she flicked her tail toward her face and shielded herself from the blaring, obnoxious rays of the sun.
"Ooooh, do tell," she cooed, a grin breaching across her maw before it became a bit sour or moreso distraught with a fluxuating mood swings. "Hopefully it was the little animal colony I must have eaten because apparently I'm a heffer!" Her, fat? Packing on the pounds was more like it. With her blonde hair in disarray with flowers and even leaves, Ronnie was feeling miserable and so vulnerable along with a mix of other emotions that seemed to flow through her veins. What they were directed at and why she couldn't decipher but amongst all things she felt as if she was useless.
Ronnie never welcomed such a feeling, ever.
"How am I suppose to run with this belly? I can't be agile and wobble away! If anything I'll pray to God and hope they mistake me for a fat cow and then I can pathetically slink back in the shadows or rummage through their trinkets." Her bottom lip curled out, quivering as she tried not to cry- Ronnie never cried! It was so below a rebels status and yet this surely was a sign that something wasn't right.
"I'm a goddamn fat heffer!"

Oh.
Oh no.
Oh holy spirits above and below, how had this happened!?
Bright considered himself a stallion of many talents. He was suave, sophisticated, liberated, educated, and naturally good-looking! Certainly he had his faults, as all Soquili did, but Bright was a talented enough liar that they had only a negligible effect on his social skills. He was young enough to muscle his way out of scrapes and clever enough to make sure he didn't get into them. He wasn't used to being caught off-guard.
But facing down a cranky Ronnie over the size of her waistline was not the sort of crisis he was accustomed to diffusing. He liked her happy, strong, and vicious. He wasn't sure how to cope with anything less.
Had Ronnie been any other mare, Bright would have made some sparkling promises, and then cut and run before things got uncomfortable. But Ronnie was Ronnie, and she was gloriously pretty when she was angry, so how could he possibly run and miss the show?
Panic coiled within his breast.
"Come, now. " Bright fanned out his wings in what he hoped was a placating gesture. Was it his business if Ronnie'd been eating more bark lately? A gentleman did not bother about such things. "Are you sure it's not your winter coat thickening? I shall consider it a personal insult to myself if you are so terribly gauche as to suggest that I would keep company with a partner who could be mistaken for a bovine."
He tossed his mane, feeling somewhat abashed. Fidgeting helped to keep his nerves down.
"It's alright if you're not perfectly agile all the time," he said, more gently and less flippant than usual. "We can... mmm. We can do things my way for a while! A little more play-acting and a little less destruction until we've figured out what has you so down. I think it would help keep the humans on their toes if we changed our game up now and then."
A small part of Bright's mind - the part that had already seen his mother bear him younger siblings - told him that he should already know what was wrong. That part was currently chained at the bottom of a river of denial.

While it seemed that Bright could muscle his way out of a brawl and weilded a cleverness with a smooth tongue Ronnie also was never use, nor welcomed, the sensation and realization which came when one was caught off-guard. Although unfortunately it seemed all the more worse as a small realization seemed to be tinkering within the back of her mind- one that she seemed to push away while the seriousness of the present scenario only made such a thing seem silly. Unknowingly, or at least for now, it seemed Bright truly was a stallion of many talents! A talent which Ronnie herself still remained unaware of.
Struggling to adjust herself to lie on her knees and then rising up to her hooves with a wobble and a swaying motion as the extra weight seemed to throw off her sense of motion and balance, the mare snorted as a slightly irritable leonine tail flicked behind her. It wasn't that she was angry at Bright- it was moreso that she would be withheld and unable to join in the ritual and always anticipated festivities which rebellious souls often, and helplessly, endulged in. It was like a drug- their own personal brand of heroine which seduced that irresistable craving for recklessness, mischief and thievery. In truth, it was what the duo lived for! Messing with two leggers and their 'tamed' soquili along with keeping up the good 'ol practice of con artists boded well with the soul. Yet how was Ronnie suppose to get her fix if she was left in a state such as this? There mere thought was painful and she winced slightly, jowls gritting while her ears flickered. One way or another she would have to either shed these ridiculous extra pounds or- or it was something that she could feel her own idea shut away within the closet where skeletons were kept, denial was its cloaking shadows; something which she wasn't to consider.
She frowned slightly. "I'm sure a winter coat wouldn't cause my stomach to round and cause me to look like I just at god knows what," Ronnie retorted, a bit bitterly although such anger was sated not at the stallion but at herself. She could only muster up a small laugh, a chuckle as she mused. "Oh, but you'd look so cute with a bovine."
Brows furrowed deeper as she pursed her lips? Yes, perhaps he was right- it was okay if she wasn't agile all the time but would she have to live like this? Having to lumber about in a dire getaway and somehow end up caught by those damn two leggers all due to whatever was plauging her stomach? No. No no no no no no. She'd be damned if they caught her! Ronnie herself wasn't sure what to say except for sighing along with a small grumble from out of her chest. It was obvious Bright was trying his hardest to find the loose ends to such a sticky situation and tie them together and she admired that, her gallant knight truly was quite the charmer if not a con artist. "A change of tone to our approach would be good for now," she reasoned, thinking about that such an idea could lead the two leggers into expecting the unexpected and leavng them back and square one once again.
Yes. For now that would do but there would be one thing missing. "Damn straight- we need to keep them on their toes but... just promise me you'll break some things? If I can't I'll need to at least see someone, something, destroy or dismantle something important." Perhaps it was a bit of an odd request but it was needed- when rebellion spoke to the soul one would have to be a part of something, at the very least, to feel the effects as well as get her fix. Although it wouldn't be as potent as actually carrying out the destruction it would be enough for now.
Amongst the wakes and scattered thoughts and restless musing, Ronnie was starting to weigh rather heavily upon the last option which she had, all this time, attempted to avoid in a simple equation:
Sudden weight increase + vicious (perhaps more than usual) + emotional (a lot more than usual) + Bright= ....
Like a sudden lightbulb blaring as if a switch for its needed illuminous realization was triggered, Ronnies pink eyes widened slightly. Oh god. Oh god! Of all the things to plauge her now it would be this! When they had last found themselves alone at night was hard to pinpoint since it was every evening the two settled down together. Ronnie wasn't experienced in this department and with a background lacking a mother who was more than willing to educate her, as most foals seemed to be these days, this was going to be a hell of an event. As the pieces of this puzzle were fitting together there was no denial nor other option that was left.
"I'M PREGNANT!" She exclaimed, almost yelling at the top of her lungs while birds which had roosted in the boughs above suddenly flew away- jolted with the outcry of the pregnant mare.
But as she seemed to seethe as if for only a moment, her jowls loosened while her leonine tail swayed almost in a curious manner while yet another realization, an idea, rummaged inside of her head. Yes, she was pregnant. She wasn't a fat heffer who had been helplessly gorging herself on food, Ronnie was fat with foals. Foals that would need teaching, raising and proper education on life and its-
A small grin, if not hinted with a devious display, seemed to slide upon her maw as she looked towards Bright. She didn't need to say much, for if he was a stallion of many talents Ronnie herself was sure that he was quite well versed in reading her mind or at the least where this could go.

And with those magic words - I'M PREGNANT! - time stopped dead in its tracks. The wind ceased blowing, for Bright did not feel it. The birds fell silent, for Bright did not hear them chirping. The grass beneath his hooves? Hah! Bright was hardly in a state to feel it ticking at his fetlocks. His train of thought had narrowed to the faint smile on Ronnie's muzzle, and the telling swell of her belly. Nothing else mattered.
"Ah-"
For once in his life, the alicorn was entirely lost for words.
"Er-"
A parent? Him? Them? Oh, no! No, no, no! That wasn't right! It wasn't right at all! They were young, for one thing. Not too young, not teenagers, but still young nonetheless! They were still young, and they were rebels, and they were most certainly too cool to be staid, boring old parents, who only pulled cons to fill hungry little mouths.
"I mean- um-"
Only. Only, they would be him and Ronnie mixed together, so they would have to be brilliant, wouldn't they? Wit and spark and raw brutality all mixed together. The perfect anarchists and criminals. Nothing would stop them. Nothing! They'd have Ronnie's glorious glowing eyes, all a-shimmer with passion for destruction, and his gracefully arching horn.
"Y- yes. I suppose you are."
It was a lucky thing that Bright was covered with thick black hair and a tinted metal mask. Otherwise Ronnie might have seen him flush like a bashful young colt.
"I, um-"
His mouth outpaced his brain.
"I'll break as many things as you want me to, you know."
Oh, spirits that wasn't smooth at all, but Bright couldn't help himself, between the sudden pregnancy and all that sexy fierceness.
((LOL. I think Ronnie broke Bright's brain. XD))

((Awww XD Poor Bright! <3 ))
It was apparent that with the sudden stutter and plethora of 'uhms' that nearly spewed out of the stallions mouth that from the time that she had blurted out with her own realization that she was pregnant and until now that something did not process right within the stallion. Was this too much of a surprise for the gallant male to handle? Of course not! If Bright could cause a row with thievery, manipulate the innocent with the slight of hoof and well kept mask upon his face graced with a dazzling smile and chivalrous gleam then Ronnie could only assume that parenthood wouldn't be that challenging. They were going to raise foals in their artistry- fueling their wit and raw brutality along with helping them buff and construct a mentality that was keen on deception and putting on a show for whomever they were enticing as well as robbing. This would be slightly better than causing the destruction themselves; they were raising up a new generation to lengthen and continue their work! They wouldn't be those boring, old parents who restricted their kids from experimenting and trying new wreckless things, they would fully encourage their foals or disown them for not following the family 'legacy'.
This would be a start to a new act.
But, for the moment, it seemed Bright still remained not only a little lost but a little stuck in trying to process the news. Ronnie chuckled softly, clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth with a 'tsk' sound as she shook her head. Her larger waistline seemed to cause her to wobble as she walked closer toward him before coming nose to nose with her gallant knight. "If anything I wouldn't have expected THAT to break your brain," she commented, pink eyes staring into the stallions pools of blue as if searching for the single cog or wheel which had temporarily stopped rolling. It was evident that she'd have to help them move and this could hopefully get their creative juices flowing as to how to prepare for this new change of scenery. She pressed her nose against his and lightly seemed to nibble at his bottom lip while she smirked.
"We've conned the lands with our games and wit- its time for a new act. This will begin a legacy of theives, young rebels that will remain infamous from the bloodline traced back to the gallant scandal, Bright Dusk, and the reckless renegade, Ronnie. A twist of scenery and surprise in our routine will throw our devout audience off of their feet! Masked rebels with horns, leonine tails and maybe wings; we'll be the new face of con-artists everywhere. Hell, we might even start a fan club although the haters will always be kept close; they're too much fun and amusing when you push them around or steal their treasure from right under their damn noses." Oh yes! Such reactions were what fueled her fire! It were the outburst and sudden changes in facial expressions and outrage that seemed to sweeten and entice such behavior. Her blood only surged with a wave of adrenaline with each heist! Ronnie herself only managed to grin wider at the mere thought of envisioning a victims reaction all too well but still the babble continued to almost ooze from Brights maw.
She could only hope that no one was watching- in a way it was cute for the boisterous stallion to be at a loss for words but, at the same time, she was rather anxious for his mind to re-set and revert itself on track once again so they could revel in such an unexpected addition. Although it would seem that the mare only smiled deeply as Bright made it known that he was willing to break as many things as she wanted hm to which seemed to only add icing to such a delictable cake which they had made between them.
"Oh? Well I expect that from you," she teased, lightly tugging at his mane. "Someone will need to be breaking down teepees and causing a stir while I'm out of commission. You'll just have to make sure that you can stay out of trouble- I won't be able to save you after our new rebels step into the scene."
The sensation of needing to lie down seemed to come over her strongly- it was strange! Would pregnancy leave her with little stamina to even stand on her four legs? Her brows furrowed slightly but she wisked away the thought before looking into the stallions eyes and only smirked before she turned away slowly. If only for added encouragement for him to slip from out of his slight 'trance', Ronnie's leonine tail flicked upward and swept underneath his chin gently with a soft caress. It wasn't too soon before the mare, once again, settled upon her knees on the ground while ears flicked. She wouldn't admit she was tired. Hell no! She couldn't! But who knew being pregnant was so draining?
A sudden, reverberating growl solaced from her stomach with a gurgle as her ears perked upward. Looking toward the stallion, Ronnie flicked her ears and gave a slight pouting face while trying not to laugh.
"....."
From what she had heard, the process of being pregnant up until being free from carrying extra weight was a b***h! But certainly Ronnie felt that this was going to be interesting as well as amusing. What COULD a young couple with a pregnant mare actually get away with? Oh, this was only going to push things to new heights!
