I hate it when people use that arguement. It has no logic. First off, if I was aborted, I wouldn't be thinking about it. We wouldn't be having this conversation. If I were aborted, I wouldn't care because a fetus cannot comprehend it's own existence. It can't even feel pain until a certain point in the pregnancy. If I were aborted, I wouldn't remember it.

Edit: I forgot to add, that there are a number of other factors that could've resulted in a person never having existed:

1. Their parents used birth control/the birth control they used worked
2. Their parents didn't have sex at the time they did
3. Their parents never met
4. The sperm that the person once was didn't make it to the egg
5. A different sperm got to the egg first
6. One or both parents were infertile

Basically, every moment we aren't having sex we are missing countless opportunities to make kids. Should we have a "No Sperm Left Behind" act to make sure everyone has a chance to be concieved and born?

I hate it when people use this as well. It makes no sense, and yes, has no logic. I think it's more of an emotional attack though, like a , "put yourself in the murdered child's position, and tell me how does it make you feel?" kind of way. It's a petty arugment, and illogical statement however, because:

Number one: For a fetus to even feel anything, it would have had to be in the 28th week of pregnancy, because until then, it hasn't formed it's nervous system.

Number two: A fetus can't remember being inside of the womb. It can't think. And it certianly can't feel until later stages in pregnancy. If I were aborted, I wouldn't be typing this, now would I? A pro lifer woud have having a conversation with someone who doesn't even exist. I wouldn't be here. But it wouldn't matter because I would have no recollection of being aborted.

Not to mention the fact that there are so many OTHER factors that lead to your existence versus your nonexistence, like when/how your parents met, when they had sex, which sperm won the race, and then the fertilized egg's not being miscarried... If it were any other sperm or egg, you wouldn't be in existence. So, if you add those factors in, abortion doesn't count for nearly as much in existence vs nonexistence.

A clever and snarky response to drive the point home as to why this question is stupid:

If your mom gave your dad head that night instead, how would you feel?

I just say that I my parents had no reason to abort me. They were happily married, (still are) had steady jobs, a nice house, and supportive families. On top of it all, they wanted a child. And so, they were able to ensure that I was safe, happy, and wanted.

So yeah. "Be glad your mother was pro-life!" doesn't faze me one bit.

Ditto, ditto, ditto. Except that I could reply that my mother is openly pro-choice and always has been.
And doesn't that give you a warm, tingly feeling inside--knowing that you were chosen?

I wonder what my future kids would say if someone gave them the "be glad your mom was pro-life" line?

Not having an abortion =/= pro-life. People seem to think that pro-choice means that you'll abort every pregnancy you'll ever have and you shun women who decided to keep their pregnancy.

Really, what would happen if the parental units waited around 3 seconds before doing the horizontal tango?

Then, my friend, you would be a 6'1" man named Jerry. (Assuming the asker is female)

Abortion = Three Second Wait = Delayed Sex is EVIL!

there are so many things wrong with that argument.
anyways i am just like, well i was chosen so it makes me feel wanted. i wouldnt want to be an unwanted child and a drain on my parents. i would have preferred to be aborted before i was aware of being unwanted. or something. sorry late and im rambling!
