Home Life : For the first nine years of her life, Mysti was treated as well as any only child would be treated. Born in the outskirts of Scarborough, England, into a loving family with a mother and a father who loved each other dearly. Well, she supposes they still do. Anyways, her parents adored her, and when she started showing magical talent, they loved her even more. She was spoiled with gifts like her own cat, sweets, best broom in the world, etc. But then her mother got pregnant again and thus David stole her glory.
As my magical abilities progressed and Mysti was accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, David showed no sign of magic whatsoever. Once again, no matter how well she did in school, her parents wouldn't pay attention to her well doing when they were distracted by David's lack of doing anything. All they cared about was David, David, David. Even now, as she's in her fifth year at Howarts, he hasn't showed any magical ability. For her, she first showed her ability at the tender age of three, when she caused an attacking gnome to shrink to the size of a finger puppet.
Something her father and she had shared before David entered their lives, was quidditch. Since he works in the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Games and Sports, they were always able to go to games. He taught her how to ride a broom and even introduced her to different quidditch stars. Eventually, Mysti was able to try out for the Hufflepuff team and made it on as a Chaser. Even then, her father couldn't care less about her achievement. Now that was just the icing on the cake, and since then she hasn't bothered going home for the winter break. She despised going home for summer when all she'd have to do is take care of David and hear about how David still hasn't done anything worth noting.
So that's where her dislike of my parents spawned. Well, you can add the dislike of her brother in there too.
Diving deeper : When Mysti first came to Hogwarts, she was a shy little first year. But now, she's become someone who isn't afraid to tell you how she feels. Well, unless you're just too stunning that you take her breath away. Which has been known to happen. She tends to be incredibly boy crazy, though still have the ability to control herself at times. She has been known to also make a fool out of herself. Of course, what's life without a little bit of entertainment?
Besides making people laugh with her ability to make a fool out of herself, she have no sense of balance. She will trip over the slightest bit of rock. Or she will trip when there's nothing to trip on. But put her on a broom, and you'd never guess she can barely walk on flat ground. That's part of the reason she felt the need to be good at quidditch, to make up for her lack of balance. Despite that, she's got the ability to laugh at herself when she does trip. And she thinks that's what makes life fun, being able to laugh at yourself. Otherwise you'd just be serious and stuck-up. At least that's her opinion.
When it comes to classes, she think they're pretty effing awesome. She can't help it that she enjoy learning. Favorite class of all time would have to be Transfiguration. Potions is neat, though never has been her strongest suit. She still has done well in the class, though not as good as her mother would like. Her mother wants her to be better at that, though she just wants Mysti to be a Healer like her. Mysti has considered that before, but since she'd rather spend her time with ickle David, Mysti passed on following in her mother's footsteps.
While she's not the smartest kid at Hogwarts, or even in her class, she does get good marks. Studying is something she doesn't specifically enjoy, but she studies enough to do well.
Other than that stuff, she loves music. She pretty much lives by it. She will sing wherever and whenever, and doesn't care who hears it. She's been told she's pretty good at it, but she doesn't like to brag.
And also, she's related to Elladora Ketteridge. That's the woman the one who first discovered the magical properties of gillyweed. Of course, she nearly killed herself doing so, but hey. Still pretty sweet.
Taking a closer look :Waking up as she saw the sunlight filtering in, Mysti yawned and stretched, sitting up in her bed. She looked around and saw that no one else had gotten up yet. Deciding she would make an early morning out of it, she went and grabbed her clothes out from her trunk. Today was the first day of school after break. Using a quick pressing spell her mother had taught her, she got all the wrinkles out of her uniform as she went to the lavatory to clean up and then get dressed.
Now that she thought she looked acceptable, Mysti decided to make her way down to the Great Hall for some breakfast. Taking her time on her way down, Mysti made sure she didn't get lost on any of the staircases, or tripping down them. Her goal was accomplished as she stepped down onto the ground floor and made her way to the Great Hall. Walking in and taking a seat at the Hufflepuff table, she smiled as the food appeared. After putting some of her favorites on her plate, she took a moment to look around the Hall.
((And I do realize that this has her as a Hufflepuff Chase. If possible, I'd love to try out to be on the team as well. I can always remove it from here too. <3 ))
