Buibui was bored... his mother was off doing her normal duties, and his siblings were distracted. This meant he had two options, he could hang out on her own or he could... socialize. Which thought he felt was more distateful was hard to say. It wasn't that he disliked being around the other members of his pride, because he did like them. He felt that they all had something in common but...
For whatever reason, he couldn't help but feel some kind of bizare dislike for anyone who wasn't a member of his family. He respected them, of course, but that didn't stop him from looking down on them in some ways. Why he could not say... but something about his family had always made him feel... better. His mother had scolded such thoughts, but he couldn't quite shake the feeling.
Oh well, best off to ignore that, and better still to get to know the other members of the pride. After all, they would all be fighting together some day, so he should at the very least put forth the effort to make friends. And it would certainly make his mother happy.

Teiracaes was on her own today, away from family... away from parents she very much adored and depended on. For a while now, she'd be struck by terrors, visions of things that scared the young lioness. Bloody lions, clashes that ended in death... and other, brutal visions that left her running for cover. It was hard, really, to distinguish between reality and vision sometimes - the places she saw were so like the places she knew, her mind would become muddled.
Still... what she saw, though frightening, also stirred sympathy in her. Why were they fighting? Why were they hurting? Did they really want? As far as she knew, such things were painful and far from productive; evil.
With a sigh, she flopped onto one of the rocks that stuck out over the local stream and lowered her chin to the ground as she sunbathed. It had been close to a week now since she'd seen anything and Teira was beginning to wonder if they were gone for good. It felt wonderful to life one's head and see the world, smell the breeze and be a cub. She hadn't travelled far, not at all, but at least she had mustered the courage to wander off on her own. It was somehow freeing and it made her smile, an unfamiliar expression for the dark juvenile.

Bui couldn't help but notice the other lioness. Though he did not know that the two of them had something in common, as they both shared the ability to have visions, he also did not know they were quite different. His own visions were of the present, what happened around him, both close to home and far away. Everything that happened in the world would come to him - in odd short bursts - in the morning when he woke up. A daily news reel, if you will. Though he did not often see too much blood... he had often spied on the world of the demons and what they did. That only drove the lion closer to his own group, and more willing to help them.
His only sympathy was... limited. Of course, he felt bad for those who were forced to suffer... but he also felt that they should step up, join the demon-hunters and defend themselves. That was why he believed so strongly in the demon-hunters.
He slowly approached the lioness, looking curious. He had seen her family around, and knew from his mother that they were on his side. And there was nothing wrong with getting to know one's allies. "Hello?" He asked curiously, stepping forward and watching her, tilting his head to the side.

It was warm today, pleasant and welcoming. Such a change from her normal view of a world gone cold and bloody. It wasn't always bloody, those visions of things to come, there was the occasional glimpse of nobility but it was tempered in vengeance and brutality.
Scratching her ear with a paw, she peered over the edge of the rock to stare at the water and her reflection. What did it mean, the visions disappearing?
Teiracaes blinked as someone spoke, tilting her head and laying her ears back. It was an unfamiliar voice... not father or mother or siblings. She'd barely left the den and so soo- oh. Her half-fearful frown evened out. This one didn't look like the things she saw so he surely wasn't one of them. "Hello?" Her voice was pleasant, quiet and uncertain.

Bui watched the girl, tilting his head and sitting down curiosly. He sat tall, as always, chronically unable to look anything but like a proud young lion. Very little frightened the boy, and even less made him uneasy in truth.
"You're... one of the other cubs, right?" He asked her, already knowing that much as he had met some of her siblings and her father before. He had seen her hanging around them... weird that she would be on her own. From what he had seen, they had a large family. He was only used to having his two sisters and his mother. Relatively small, in that sense.
"I'm Buibui'Sefu." He introduced himself, not waiting for an answer, for he had always been bold and outspoken. Something his mother occasionally pointed out might get him into trouble someday.

"Other cubs?" She blinked and tilted her head, rather confused at that wording, "I guess. Other in that I'm not of your family." Teira wondered if that was wrong.... that being an other somehow meant a mark against her. Frowning, she sat up properly.
"I'm Teiracaes." The dark lioness smiled then, a warm and gentle expression as she returned his greeting, "Were you looking for something?"

"Ah... I just meant another demon hunter cub." Bui pointed out, not meaning to be confusing. He supposed he should have been more specific about that... anyone could have been another cub.
"No, I was just... my mother, she was inisting that I meet more members of the Pride and get to know other cubs, besides my sisters, you see... and so... I was just introducing myself. Because it's good to know one's allies, don't you think?" Bui asked, glad that she was pleasent. Always nice to know the others in the pride had good manners. Even if his mother liked to point out that on occasion he did not.

"Indeed. Though... I've heard others say keep your friend close and your enemies closer." She smirked slightly at that as she turned to face the other properly, "I... haven't seen you before. Do you know my parents? Farlest and Ka'hmesh?" There was a distracted sort of quality to her voice as she spoke, almost distant. Lack of visions seemed to make everything stand out in so much starker detail. He was a bright lion, pretty in his colourations... appropriate for the shining pillars of order and justice their pride stood for.
"Who are your allies, Buibui'Sefu, that you want me for one?" She grinned, gaze coming to focus more on his face as her tail lazily swished back and forth.

"Ah, yes... maybe that's why we live so close to the demons. Though I certainly wouldn't want to live any closer to them..." Mostly because being attacked every second of every day wasn't the best of ideas, but being close enough to stop attacks on the innocent certainly was. "I've met Ka'hmesh and one of your brothers I think... he's your father's son, so I'll assume he was anyway." It made sense really. She was likely related to him... unless Ka'hmesh was sleeping around, like Bui's father did.
He tilted his head to the side curiously, "Why, we're all allies. Everyone in this pride will one day work together to drive the demon scum from this earth. Everyone who considers themselves an enemy to demons is an ally to me. That is what my mother has told me anyway... She believes strongly that justice can only be truly served in such a fashion. When those who are good band together against evil." He just assumed that the young lioness would join the war like he would. Though his mother groomed him with every intent of having him be a general of demon-hunters. She had always had high expectations of him and his sisters.

Teiracaes nodded at his first comments, "I do not see my siblings often. They are usually outside the den... enjoying the world." Whiskers twitched as she frowned, leaving unsaid the remainder of that statement; while I hide in it and wish the monsters would go away.
At his bold announcements, the young female's frown deepened and she tilted her head, "If you do not show mercy, and you only deal out pain and destruction, how does that make you any better? Killing is killing, death is death... How is it right to hurt someone in turn?" Eyes turned skywards as she spoke, sighing softly, "I see... er, saw, them. They are not all evil... mislead, or enspelled maybe, but not all evil."

"You stay inside?" Bui asked, curious about why she would stay inside her den instead of going out and about in the world. "That is a shame... the outside world is much nicer. The sun, the moon, the stars... they're all up in the sky. To be trapped inside is..." Well, when he thought about it he could have seen all those things in his head.
"I have seen them too..." He whispered, his whole body shaking for a moment. "And perhaps they are simply misled... maybe they are enspelled... but that is no excuse for doing what they have done to the inncent creatures who are unfortunate enough to wander onto their land... I have seen them pillage, murder, steal... steal cubs..." He growled under his breath, but sat up straight, trying his best to maintain his cool disposition. But he hated to think about the visions that he made himself watch so that he knew what he was fighting at all times. "Perhaps some can be brought over to our side. That is why we have purifiers. But not all of them can... some of them have to be stopped. Even if we must sink to their leverl in order to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Someone has to be willing to step up."

She nodded, "I see... them, like living shadows racing across the savannah drowning everything in an inky blackness. Little dots of light all in pairs, glow with confidence or malevolence, and dance in the darkness... taunting, teasing... whispering." Teiracaes shiverred and closed her eyes, drawing back away from Buibui, though it was the images that frightened her. "Hate and passion and temptation... chaos. A storm, driving before them a surge of fear. I... I..." Trailing off, she whimpered as she half turned sideways, "But there's always a light... a few small stars, like in the night sky. I have to believe... purify..."
It seemed that the other was unfortunate enough to catch her when her fears pierced through her like icy needles, eating away at her mind. If she could not learn to live with and direct the visions she saw, Teira was sure she'd dwindle into insanity.

Bui had always been able to cope remarkably well with his visions, especially compared to his sisters. Hima who saw the future... Xia who saw the past of anyone she touched. He could only see the preasent, and only when it suited him to do so. He had the benifit of being able to control what he saw... and he forced himself so he would remember that not everyone was as safe as he was.
He walked towards the lioness, tilting his head to the side as he spoke to her, slow and sure, "And there is the greatest fire of all. And that is us, remember that Teiracaes." Bui told her, his voice suddenly brimming with confidence when he looked at her. She was in pain, he could tell that much. And she was his ally. It wasn't fair that someone who would try to rid the world of evil would suffer for it... but he supposed that they all had their own 'demons' to face before they were ready.
"Remember that you can bring light out of the darkness... and shower that darkness in the light that is us. The demon-hunters who will bring peace and harmony to this world, and protect it from all that harms it. That is our duty. We must use our visions, our power, to protect this world... and even protect the demons from themselves, and bring them into the light. You musn't fear Teiracaes... we can purify this world. And I am certain you can."

Teira didn't register his words at first... barely recognized the soothing tones. She only saw violence of the future, what havoc would be wreaked by demons and lions alike. It was so much death... and yet the hook that snagged and tore at her mind were the brief glimpses of goodness within every evil act. A reason for the bloodshed that somehow, in some small fashion, was a redeeming quality.
It was his last words that caught her as she looked up, that he would encourage her... Mother would really only soothe and she rarely saw her father... An uncertain smile played across her lips as the little lioness nodded ever so slightly. "Light out of darkness... What do you see? You say us... but..." But she was the one that feared the distances her mind could reach.

"I have not seen the future as you have, but I see the world as it is now." Bui told her, his words like a velvet glove covering an iron fist. He was cold on the inside, he knew this. He had to be to face what would come one day. And he needed allies. And with what this girl saw... he was convinced that she would be one of them. "And in this world, we are the only ones who can protect it. Do you understand? When darkness falls, we will be the light which the innocent flock to for protection. And our light will pierce the darkness and make it light."
He smiled down at her, a cold smirk of perfect arrogance, "And the darkness which refuses the light will be burned away. I see the good that we will do... and we will be powerful. We become more powerful every day. So have faith in the allies you have Teira. Because we can make a better future."
