i've never really astral traveled, but i did half astral project. i was meditating, and something like shocked or startled me, and my legs started lifting out of my body, and something else shocked/startled me, and my legs lifted more. i remember my entire body shuddered when it happened, but when i tried to make the rest of my body come out, it actually forced me back into my body.
that was beside the point. it feels really weird, and wispy-like. you can definately feel that you aren't in your body. i don't know what travel would feel like, but i don't think it would even feels like anything.

Actually, we all astral traval to some degree...when we sleep. It's almost impossible to train yourself to do it while you're awke. You practically have to be born with that ability.

Very ture thats how i frist found the otherside, though not everyone is Able to, many now fall into the hand of those looking to further themselves at a young age and lose the power to travel.

Meoga999 Has anyone here tried Astral Travel? did your deity come? i wish to try this but i would like to know how it feels and what its like When one astral travels, one doesn't call upon a Deity... And to the one who said she'd astral projected, but hasn't astral traveled: It's pretty much the same thing. Yes, I have Astral traveled.

Once when I was asleep something in my dream scared me and I "fell out of myself" but only for about 7.2 seconds... I looked at the clock sweatdrop And then again when I was in school... again, only for a very short time wink
Anyway, it's hard to say how it feels...

I've halfway astral projected once, it was pretty cool. I was laying in my bed, half asleep, and my body felt like it was vibrating. I knew from research that this was one step before astral projection (I hade felt it before, but didn't know what it ment) I imagined my body rising and I could feel my torso floating into the air. It felt so wierd (in a good way) and the vibrations had increased. THen I thought (accidentily) I hope I don't go back into my body... and I did -_-() so yea. I don't think its impossible... just hard... very...very...hard

There's one thing I can't get my head around. This astral travel, or astral projection thing. How can the two planes coincide for you to step out of your body? Does anyone know how they can both exist in the same dimension?

I think it's different for everyone.
I guess I have the opposite problem of most, I can't stop going away. With all the bizarreness of my brain (I was born seriously mentally ill) it often seems like the wiring of it has been firing off randomly and for so long that sometimes it hits on strange regions of the mind. I have enough medication protection to guard against most psychosis now, but when I feel psychosis free stuff can happen that's just... different. It's not like psychosis, I know my psychosis. This started when I began to gain myself back after a couple years of a altered state.
I'll just be sitting there and start feeling really lucid (that's rare)... and then... kind of... -too- lucid. A absence of emotion and feeling can set in, then I start drifting and my body feels like it's slipping away and I start seeing everything around me in many states at once and some states start reversing cause and effect (this is really hard to describe, I'm trying my best but it doesn't sound quite right). Like... a vase for example... before the vase was in the middle of the table. Now the vase is smashed, now the vase will be smashed, now the vase is sideways, now the vase is split in two, now there's nothing supporting it and it builds in intensity until so many states start drifting apart and turning into nothing and I can't feel anything anymore, just a kind of gentle drift like a breeze is pushing me and then a sharp yank when I fall back because I know I'm not really supposed to go anywhere, that's a big instinct in me because people have been telling me that for so long. If my mom or my good friend doesn't call me back, I call myself back eventually when my brain feels me leaving and starts to panic and kind of... thrash around. It may be different from psychosis but I still don't trust it and I know from experience with bad stuff that wandering when you don't know where you are is very dangerous and you can get lost, sometimes for a long, long time like has happened recently. Don't know that I'd get hurt for sure, but I don't want to play with fire.
Oops, I didn't mean to write that much. I hope I make some sense... It's hard to describe happenings that don't have any words assigned to them and kind of defy definition by... definition.
