Fayeanya felt tired from the long journey, tired and hungry, which put her in a less than tender mood. She finally stopped in a grassy clearing and turned to ensure that the Captain hadn't tripped. Normally she was content to saunter behind him and call out warnings of incoming objects and trippy obstacles, but having to leave their home had soured her mood.
Granted they had to leave because she had made enemies with just about every living creature at Whiterock Beach, and she had the scars to prove it. She had suggested to her dear Captain that perhaps it was time to find a better location to plunder.
Now that they were in this new place, wherever it was, she was feeling rather upset that they hadn't stayed to fight. Still, it was for the best, her dear Captain was more a lover then a fighter, a trait she found annoying yet endearing at different moments. Her shiny black hoofs stamped at the ground and she slowly lowered herself to lay down a moment.

Capt. Essex Bloodstone, he was known quite well throughout Whiterock Beach but in these parts he would have to establish a new name for himself. Trotting up the hill side behind his wench Fayeanya, he sucked in the fresh air, cool breeze and flies...? Hacking and coughing the dear Capt was not like any captain any would have guessed. He was for lack of anything prime to say, a dud. Most of his pirating success was thanks to his lovely wench Fay who seemed to like to keep up appearances. Essex, however, never seemed to pick up on these subtle but useful acts by his companion.
Even their need to flee was considered another 'bright idea' which he suggested to his wench. After all a wanted herla drew too much attention, it was best to chart for fairer seas. "Wench!" He called out, his attention gazing with authority at a boulder. "Spread the word that Captain Essex Bloodstone has arrived. Let all hear far and wide of my great adventures and daring dos." He gave a sound nod of his head which was enough to plow it straight into the rock. Reeling back from the pain and with a yelp of surprise he skitter back, tripped over an ant hill, skitter a bit more until he fell out of sight. Down a small hill he would land in a thicket of bushes; none too friendly as they had thorns. Ruby red eyes shot open with pain and surprise as he jumped up galloping in circles before coming to a halt with his head planted to the soft grass his hind quarters lifted in the air. "Wench!" He called out or rather cried, eyes teary from his first assault upon arrival. "Be careful Fay there is trickery about... they know I have arrived." This all part of the spacey captain's logic. Ah well, it was a fresh start after all not everything would change upon arrival.

Gracefully the wench rose to her hooves and smirked as she saw her Captain addressing a boulder. She held back a laugh, it was no wonder she loved to follow him around he was quite an amusing and laid back source of company. Strangely he was also often blessed with amazingly dumb luck, which astonished her. Yet it was thanks to his random acts that they had both survived as long as they had.
"Of course Captain I'll announce to every hart we meet that you have arrived..." and then they'll know who to shoot on sight... She rolled her eyes, of course she wasn't going to give their presence away so quickly.
She watched in a concerned yet astonished stupor as he went down, the smack against the boulder was expected, but when he tripped she froze and watched his fall. When he called her she gracefully bounded down to him not even a single scratch from a thorn.
"Captain, are you alright?" Of course whenever she asked she knew he would be just fine, luckily he had a head as hard as any rock it ever hit. "Perhaps we ought to keep hush hush about our arrival then Captain, lest they set more traps for our demise?"

Ah if they knew of his arrival then it was best they not make too much of a commotion. This was the idea rolling around in his head. "Wench let us hasten from here but we should not make too much of a fuss or they will set more traps." It was no surprise that he often voiced what his wench had suggested moments before. A constant game of back and forth the two had played.
With a sigh he lifted himself up properly reaching to pluck the thorns from his hind side as best he could. Though after while he simply stared out over the field that lay in front of them. "I have wanted to come here some time now, Fay. I've heard many pleasant stories, it's a peaceful land maybe we can give up this business of pirating...." He turned to watch her this time not mistaking her for a boulder or tree. "What do you think?" He inquired, his personality doing a complete turn around as the a softer, gentler captain stood before her. Turning to look back over the field a soft breeze blew around them allowing him to see the field much clearer now. "If it's all the same to you, Fay. I'd prefer it if we could possibly make friends this time around..." Though the moment was endearing it was all but shattered when he took a few steps forward and once again was out of sight.
Looking up from the abandon Mion hole the captain was not amused. "What did I tell you? Traps! As I said we must procure a crew if we wish to survive in these harsh lands..." Gone was the humbled and wise captain to reply the clumsy buffoon that lay twisted in a Mion hole.

She shook her head and smiled as she leaned over to help him pluck the thorns out of his fur. She nodded and smiled as he spoke of his desire to come to this place and it's peacefulness. She was just imagining how nice it all was when his last words pierced the image and she scrambled up.
"What! Give up pirating? Captain! You don't mean that! We've been a most successful duo, you and I, our trade with the bears is most profitable and with the Talon wars over things will be even easier. This land is ripe with fresh opportunity!" She grimaced and looked down. "Friends...well, maybe we could make some...new associations...some friends...as a front?" She looked at him with concern her eyes narrow in contemplation.
Her eyes popped back open as he fell, she craned her neck and shook her head. "A crew indeed...some...friends" She muttered before finding a vine and tossing it down to help him climb out.

With the thorns plucked from his hind quarters, the Capt stood tall. His earlier admission of giving up on their pirating had all been forgotten. Right now they needed some place to bed down, a hiding away that they could call their own. "Fay! Our next plan of business is to find a place to make our hideout." He announced looking far and wide. "We'll need it to stash our booty." Yes this was the first course of action, then they would need a crew, a strong and trust worthy lot. Of course Essex trusted no one, save for his wench but out side of that it was dangerous to assume others would die for your cause. No a pirate, a true pirate would want some proof of any treasure to be found if they were going to risk their lives for it.
"We will find a hideout and then a home... after which we will begin our conquest of these peaceful lands. All will know the name of Captain Essex Bloodstone." And with that grand declaration a bird saw fit to s**t in his hair.

Fay smiled and nodded glad that any talk of retiring from their illustrious career was at an end. She started to think about where they might stash their booty and let her eyes roam over to the mion pit her captain had fallen into. She glanced at the multicolor mion that perched on her shoulder grooming itself and smirked.
"Captain, I do believe I have an idea..." She moved closer and whispered in his ear. "All we have to do is get an area that has a cliff at the backside so that our front is defendable. Then we have our little mion friends dig us up some nice booby traps, and finally we stash our booty in the same cave in which we live in a specially dug tunnel!" She smirked and stood back ready for him to repeat the plan back. Ahh she loved hearing the brilliance of her ideas pouring back out of his mouth.

Essex was miffed that the bird saw fit to disrepect him in such a fashion but there was nothing he could do about that. Shaking his head enough to remove said s**t he only stood for a moment gazing out over the field before a thought came to mind.
"Fay I have an idea..." He began and just like clock work fired off his idea flawlessly. "All we have to do is get an area that has a cliff at the backside so that our front is defendable. Then we have our little mion friends dig us up some nice booby traps, and finally we stash our booty in the same cave in which we live in a specially dug tunnel!" It was brilliant if he didn't say so himself. Nodding in thought he turned to his wench with an approving gaze. "We should get on that!"

"Of course mon capitain! I will get right on that, we can scout the area together. You know together incase if we're attacked or some such." She nodded at him and flicked her head back.
"It's cooler here then it was down at the beaches, we best find somewhere that will give us wind shelter as well." She moved to stand closer to him, her nimble hooves avoiding the slightest of obsticals. She wasn't about to trip, stumble, or get trapped, the slightest of pebbles were easily avoided.
Now she was back in good spirits, no more talk of retiring and her captain had once again become his more animated self. Soon they would have their own little fortress and command a small crew. Ahh to think of what new spoils and booty awaited in this land made her sigh with pleasure.

Essex enjoyed these moments the best. Scouting new terrian for potential threats or rewards. His talk of retiring was only fleeting often he would bring up such nonsense but not once did he pull through with it. As they walked around, he was less graceful then his companion. Tripping over pebbles, running into trees and bushes, angering the local wild life and running in crazy circles for some obscene reason or another. This was normal for the captain as there were herla out there to get him. Setting traps like these were all they could do but nothing seemed to stop his greatness.
"Where can we find a fortress to hold our booty?" He pondered out loud. They would definitely need a place for optimum shelter but finding such a place would not be easy... and right in front of him was a nice sized rock. Looking up the rock continued high. Kicking it with a hoof it posed to be a sturdy rock at that. "Wench... what say you to this? Let us find an opening." He informed. Usually big rocks meant big holes, and where there were holes there was space to spare. They might need some lighting via fire but otherwise their hideout would be plenty secured.

Faye looked at the rock a long moment before nodding, as usual her Captain managed to stumble brilliantly onto the most perfect solutions. She grinned at her Captain a moment and struck her hood against the rock.
"Maybe you can use your might to knock the whole thing down?" She chuckled and turned to try and find an opening. Quickly she twisted her head to add "Don't try it Captain, could be booby trapped!" Which was just her way of saying Don't even think about trying it, I was just kidding.
She smiled and turned with a soft shake of her head, sometimes she worried that her dear Captain might actually manage to injure himself. Then what would she do, she despised solitude! She moved in a steady circle trying to find the opening into what surely had to be a cavern of somesort.

The captain was fine with breaking down the bolder himself but thought better of it. Faye was correct about booby traps. Maybe if they sniffed around a bit they'd find something useful. He went the opposite way of where she went noting some strange white creatures with fluffy tails. "Oh..." He curiously followed the little creatures they hopped away pretty fast but not enough that he couldn't follow until one hoped into a whole. Sticking his snout into the hole he tried wiggling his way in to snuff out the creatuers but all he got in return was the hissing of a slithery thing and it's sharp teeth in his snout.
"AHHHH! The monkeys... they've brought the fire breathing monkeys upon us Wench quickly... I have been tainted." Whatever he was talking about no one would know. Thankfully the snake was not poisonous and would only leave a scar where the captain had been bitten. But in his haste to run away he tripped and stumbled into a sink hole. Glaring madly at the sky. "I have found restitution wench... this is a passage is it not?" He questioned a long path led deeper into the underground passage possibly a way into their possible hide out.

Monkeys? Now what...She moved quickly and slid to a halt as she saw her dear Captain stumble right into a sink hole. Perfect...just perfect, she trotted closer and looked down before smiling. As usual he had stumbled right onto another brilliant gem.
"Lovely passage Captain lead the way!" She leapt down gracefully and glanced around.
