 As the sun rose on that special day, Umicho sat up and stretched, then nuzzled her mate's cheek while he slept. She was so excited. Her first Valentines Day together with her mate. She stretched a bit more, then padded outside to watch the sun rise. A cool breeze blew past her ear flakes as she sat on a grassy hill, the sky filled with beautiful colors of red and orange.
She knew something would happen today. It had to. Their very first holiday together had to be special. Silently she concocted plans through her head, dismissing many of them. What could she do for Daniel? He had been so kind to her and he was such a sweet guy. Someday she hoped to have cubs with him. How beautiful they would be...

[img coming soon] Daniel shifted a bit when he felt the extra warmth of his mate's body, finally waking up a moment or two after she left the cave. He blinked sleepily, giving himself a moment to gain ground on where he was and what the date was... He remembered going to bed last night reminding himself that is was important...
Ah, Valentine's Day!
He stood and shook the wrinkles from his clothes, then trotted out to sit with his mate, stretching his wings as soon as he was out of the cave. It was a bit tight for him at times, and his wings were stiff in the morning. "Morning, love," he whispered as he sat down next to her, tucking his wings close to his back. "Happy Valentine's Day~"

Umicho nuzzled up to Daniel when he came out and sat down next to her. She smiled warmly, resting her chin on his furry shoulder. "Happy Valentines Day to you too." She smiled, happy he was awake and sitting next to her. She purred happily.
"What shall we do today love?" She looked up at him questioningly.

Daniel tossed a few ideas around, but nothing seemed... right. He shrugged and smiled down at her, "It's Valentine's Day... It's your choice," he said with a gentle smile, then tugged her close with one of his wings.

She purred happily when her mate pulled her closer. She nuzzled against his thick mane, smiling warmly. "I'm not sure...but anything we could do we make me happy..." She placed her paw over his. "..as long as it's just the two of us." So many possobilities passed through her mind but she just could not settle on one. But she had to before the day came to an end.

Daniel nuzzled her, purring. "I'm happy doing whatever you want, love." He pulled his wings back, smiling more widely now. "and of course it would just be the two of us... There isn't a soul in the lands that could interrupt our day."

Umicho nuzzled right back, purring happily. "Are you...able to lift others in the air...?" She looked up at him curiously.

"Hmm?" He raised his brows in response, then thought about it a moment, "I've never really tried, now that you ask..." He had an idea where this was going, but decided to play dumb. "Why do you ask?"

Umicho innocently rubbed one of her paws over the other, hoping that her mate could do this. "I was wondering if um..you could carry me..? If I'm too heavy for you it's alright. I'm just curious.."

Daniel stretched his wings out, the one nearest her stretching over her head. "I suppose I could try," he said with a heavy exhale as the muscles stretched and the joints popped. "It's worth a shot!"

He knelt down and stretched his wings out flat, nearly against the ground. "Lie on my back?" he suggested, arranging his limbs a moment to make sure he'd be able to bear the weight.

Carefully she moved around and climbed up onto her mate's back, doing her best not to bother his wings. Settles, holding onto him around his shoulders. "Ok.."

"Mmph." A heavy exhale escape and she situated herself, and before he did anything else, he made such his wings had their full range of motion. Once he was satisfied with this test, he started to run down the hill, allowing gravity to pull him to full speed before reaching ground level. he started beating his wings in steady rhythm, jumping off of the hill before it flattened out, working with the rise of the land to give him a lift before he caught the wind under him, letting it lift him into the air on a strong updraft. He had to beat his wings with more effort than usual, but soon enough they were a god distance above the tree tops, and Daniel was working to lift them higher. "Don't let go!" he called back to his mate, a grin on his face despite his breathlessness from the strain of taking off. Now that they had caught the wind, however, he barely noticed the weight difference.

Umicho held onto her mate for dear life, afraid to look down as they took off. Once he relaxed though she looked down and squealed in excitment. "Wow! It's amazing up here!" She had a bright smile across her mouth, pretty much from ear to ear. This was a dream come true for her. She had always wanted to fly, and now her mate made it possible for her. "Thank you so much...!"
