Zarah was laying on her side. She really wasn't feeling that great. Not at all. She felt like her fur was on fire. Her head was pouding. Her spine her. She wanted to sleep but she couldn't Fall asleep. Her mate was away to tell her pride that she was no longer going to be with them. However Zarah didn't know that she was going to come down with something. She laid by the river panting slightly, taking a small sip every now and again before laying her head on her paws once more. She was hoping that Etsu came home once she was feeling better. She didn't want her mate to see her like this. No where near this. Sadly that wans't how things went. She didn't know that her mate was on her way.

Only a day after Etsu had left her pride to return to her mate, something had sent a chill up her spine and made her blood run cold. Somehow, she knew she had to return fast. She didn't know what would await her, but she began to run full out, her lungs feeling like they were near exploding with every breath and hre legs feeling like giving out with every rapid step.
At this pace, she made it back to their home in half the time, stopping only briefly at a river's side to drink and regain her strength. When she returned, she saw her mate lying next to the lake looking quite sickly, and the chill returned through her sweat-shining body. "Zarah...? She trotted next to her, her face sagging with worry.

Zarah's attention was changed to Etsu. No longer staring at the water. Her mate was home. Even though she didn't want her to see herself like this there was nothing she could do now... She sat up the best she could. Her white coat looking a little more white, her snowflakes and other markings also all a little lighter. She sighed and put on a fake smile for her mate. "Hey." She said back. "Its... just a little cold. I'll be fine." She coughed a few tiems after she spoke. Putting her head down on her paws.

Etsu frowned and pulled the sash loose from around her waist, tugging at her clothing until it was off and over Zarah's back. "I'll find you some food - you can't avoid eating, even if you don't feel like it." She shook out her fur and started to trot away, "Make sure you drink enough... I'll be back in a moment."
It didn't take her long to find a rabbit in the woods surrounding their home, and she carried it back to the edge of the lake, setting the fresh kill next to her mate. Sadly, she nudged the other lioness with her nose.

The lioness was caught off gaurd when she felt the cloth over her back. She sighed laying her head on her paws, knowing it was no good to fight with the other female. She wouldn't have a chance winning this argument with her mate. She wasn't going to bother fighting it. "Alright. Alright." She sighed and lean over some lapping up some of the water. She turned back to her mate with a soft sigh. "I was hoping on feeling better before you got back." She sighed quietly before nipping at some of the meat and eating it.

Etsu laid down next to her, resting her head on her paws and looking over at her mate, "If you're sick, there's nothing you can do about it..." she replied consolingly, watching her actions carefully.

Zarah sighed softly then pulled some more meat off of the animal before her with a sigh. "I know... But I just didn't want you to see me really sick." She sighed and then hide her face. "I don't want you to have any reasons to leave me." She coughed quietly before lapping up some more water.

Etsu stood, scowling down at her, "I would never leave you," she replied sternly, stamping her paws in the dirt a bit at her impatience with such a statement. Finally, she laid back down, resting her head gently over her mate's back. "Just focus on getting better... Not on something as silly at that."

Zarah's ears flattened against her head with Etsu's tone. It caught her off guard. "Alright love... Thank you." She purred softly with her mates head on her back and closed her eyes slightly. "Will you stick around to take care of me?" There was a reason why she wasn't feeling good. She had a feeling why she just had to tell her mate. "I think I'm carrying cubs." She said a little quietly blushing slightly with what she said.

Etsu's head went up, her ears as well, "Cubs?" she repeated, a breath caught in her throat. "B-but..." she stood and pranced again, feeling suddenly uneasy. She took a moment to lat that breath escape and to make sure her next words didn't come off as sharp or hateful. "But how is that possible?" she finally managed. She knew with certainty that Zarah wouldn't cheat on her... But...

Zara looked down at her stomach for a moment, not very sure herself. She didn't sleep around, no she wasn't the type. She sighed softly then shrugged. "I don't know, you are the only possible parent..." She shook her head then sighed once more. "I have heard of a few other females who had been having cubs themselves too." She looked at Etsu for a moment. "Are you sure you are ready for this?"

She pranced a bit out of nervousness and excitement, and probably out of anxiety, too. "Yes, of course I'm ready," she responded, making her way back to her mate's side and nuzzling her. "There's no one else I'd be ready with."

Zarah smiled softly as she looked at her mate. She was already feeling better, she always felt better around her mate, it was like everything melted away. She nuzzled Etsu before laying her head down on her paws a purr rumbling from her chest. "I'm looking forward to a life time love. And so are our cubs."
