So, Jagex has a new CEO by the name of Mark Gerhard. This guy is barely over 21, and he's the CEO of a very successful company? Nice.

Basically, he's like any new boss in the business. He's promising certain changes to things - such as, removing the ads from F2P gaming, community events, tournaments, etc. The question is, is he going to be good for RuneScape's future? Or, should he have waited a few years to apply for CEO of Jagex?

Discuss:
-How he will be good for RuneScape.
-How some of his decisions could not benefit RuneScape.
-What do you think about him?
-Etc., etc., etc.

I think he'll do pretty good at it, he even plays runescape, so that gives him plenty of knowledge of the game and the community and what they want.

I thought the article also said he worked for Jagex before he was appointed CEO, so that's another advantage.

About ******** time! New management is what Jagex needs!
Now yes, he's promising a lot of stuff but will he make things happen?
He kind of sounds like a politician with his rantings about giving us
this and taking away that. Don't get me wrong, I got excited when I read
that but still, I have my doubts. Though I do say, it will be a plus that
he's played the game. I mean, come on. How much time do you think
the last CEO really spent online?

You know what I would love to see?

Your guy's reactions if I ever become CEO of Jagex. Not that I would want to, or try to, or any of that crap, I would just love to hear your screams in horror.

"Oh no! He's going to make Ranging beat Melee!" "All is lost, he's going to release an area similar to China and have PANDAS in it!" "He's going to make TACOS and BURRITOS into Cooking!" "Along with constant Doctor Who references!" "You know, he might do a decent job." "BLASPHEMY! KILL THE BELIEVER!" "CLEANSE HIM WITH FIRE."

That's how I would want it to go.

We are going to be bringing back Development Diaries but making them more regular and focused on some of the different projects we're currently working on for you. These will replace Behind the Scenes,

I like that they are bringing it back, but the down side is the Behind the Scenes removal. Forget that, I want them BOTH!

We will continue to improve the free game and, crucially, make it as fun as possible because we know that this is the way that everyone first discovers RuneScape.

A little added plus, but i suggest not making it update way to often.

Yeah, Jagex sounds like they have a TON of potential for Runescape this year. The new CEO guy actually sounds like he knows what he is doing, and hopefully Runescape will not end up dying like we have feared for awhile now.

For example, this is what I imagined Runescape to becoming if it wasn't for any hope of change:

I also agree with D2t.
I never looked at much of the development diaries, because i've always been used to the behind the scenes. I don't want to see BTS being replaced, but I dont want to see the diaries disappearing either.

And I like F2P updates every once in awhile, but as long as it's not constant, it doesn't feel like Jagex are being sellouts.

I think the one thing that struck me well was that he said about the JMods getting into the game more often to help people out and play with us all.

Sounds like the old times sweatdrop

My friend said he sounds like Obama? lol *shrugs*

@Mega: Lawl, I don't think this guy's like Obama at all. He's not issued an "official" warning about the crash of the RuneScape economy.

I said my friend thought he sounded like Obama, not me razz
Anyways, according to friend, the last Head of RuneScape (not sure about the CEO) was given the boot razz

If you didn't notice the name it's Jagex Mod Mark, the former lead designer of the game I beleive. For some reason I think he is Zezima, but thats a personal thought of mine.
