The Great Hall was packed by the time Aaron finally got there. He had woken up late for a start, and then it took him ten minutes to remember the damn password to the Prefect's bathroom. He may have been a Ravenclaw, and was incredibly smart but he had a terrible short term memory. Aaron walked into the Great Hall, just barely avoiding a Slytherine Girl he had seen around but never really talked to before. "Sorry..." he murmured, taking his seat next to the other fifth year Ravenclaws. "Looks like good weather for the Quiditch game today." Aaron said with a smile, glancing up at the enchanted ceiling. Aaron played Chaser for the Ravenclaw Team. "So, what classes do we have today?" he asked his best friend John. John handed him the schedule, his mouth too stuffed with muffins to talk. Aaron took one glance at it and groaned, Charms, Herbology AND Double Potions with the Slytherines today. "Just what I need... a full day of 'Mud-Bloods'"

With a small bounce to her step, the dark-headed girl slipped past a Ravenclaw Prefect and slid into her seat at the Slytherine table. She managed a cherry red smile with pearly whites as she jumped right into the conversation amongst the other fifth year Slytherines. "Dana, let me see our classes."

The sheet got passed over the table and three people before it met Kat's hands. She hissed cruelly. "Gross. We have Charms, Herbology, and Double Potions with the Ravenclaws."

"Sick, I know." The crude comment came from one of the many boys she sat with. Each of the Slytherines agreed in their own way.

"I gotta go get a book from the library, I'll see you in Charms, Dana." Pulling a chocolate chip muffin from the table, the pale and petite girl danced across the room.

Aaron spent about ten minutes at the breakfast table. He was silent through most of it, content to just nibble happily on a banana nut muffin and listen to John and his other friend Seth argue about quidditch. After he finished his third muffin, a blueberry, Aaron got up from the table. "I'm going to head to the library. I need to return a book." he explained as he slung his black bag over his shoulder. He turned towards the door and, once again ran into another Slytherine girl, a dark haired girl holding a Chocolate Chip Muffin which he knocked to the floor.

Aaron immediatly went red. "I-I'm sorry..." he murmured. He always got shy around Slytherines, his past of being called a Mud-Blood had made that happen. "Um... here.." he said, handing her a muffin from his own table. Then, he took off running out of the great hall, his robes flapping behind him. When he was out of the great hall he sighed and made his way towards the Library. He took a few short cuts along the way, ducking through paintings and behind tapestries. When he got there he brushed his fairly long light brown hair from his blue eyes, and placed the book in the Return bin.

A squeak pressed past Kat's lips and she groaned as her muffin tumbled from her slender hand to the floor. Before she could make a snide remark about his heritage he handed her a new muffin from his table and slipped away. She quickly followed him out the door, but he was gone. She hated being so cruel to the other students, but it was one of those things that came with being a pure-blood. It was also one of those things that came with being a Slytherin. She took a bite of the muffin as she walked, banana nut one of her favorites. It only took her a short time to get to the library through the hidden halls that Slytherins used, and stepping through that door couldn't have been more awkward. There was that Raveclaw again. For the life of her, she couldn't remember his name.

Kat scanned the room, no one else in sight. So she took the chance. Leaning against the counter, Kat managed a small smile. "Hey." Friendliness was something she didn't get a lot of practice in, mostly because it wasn't accepted in her house. But honestly, she disliked being so harsh all the time. She only got sorted into Slytherin due to the fact that she has a short temper with a long streak for revenge.

Aaron had noticed the Slytherine girl enter the Library and winced. He turned and pretened to be incredibly interested in a magazine featuring a new rising Wizard Band called The Butterbeer Experience. The magazine featured a picture of Lena, the main singer on the cover. He groaned silently as she greeted him. He turned to meet his doom, staring at his feet. "Hi..." he muttered. "Sorry about earlier." he apologized, expecting her to whip out her wand and hex him in a few seconds.

"Don't worry about it." She flicked her finger against his chest, "You're a Prefect, you shouldn't let a little girl like me scare you." Kat smiled brightly as she leaned down to catch his gaze with her deep chocolate colored eyes. "I'm Katrina. But everyone calls me Kat." Then she gently tapped his forehead with her finger to imply he should lift his chin. "Don't worry, I don't bite." Then a wicked grin played her lips and the shift was easily seen, "Much."

Aaron looked up with an awkward, nervous smile. "Heh... well Prefect or not. That wouldn't stop most of your friends from casting eighteen different hexes on me." he said with a sigh. "Of course, it has gotten me to the point where I can cast an anti hex perfectly." he said, this time with a genuine smile. He was slightly relieved to find out that he could actually stand ten minutes with this Slytherine. But, then two other Slytherines entered the Library looking for her. "Gotta go, later." he said, ducking out of sight and sneaking out of the library. He quickly ran to the Charms classroom where he took his seat next to John.

Kat's expression quickly changed as she noted the other Slytherins and as the Ravenclaw disappeared she threw him a disgusted look, "Mud-blood." Her voice was low and harsh as she joined Lena and Darian to walk to Charms.

"What was that all about?" Lena had clearly seen what had happened and wasn't going to let it go lightly, at least that's what it seems.

With a crude smile, Kat replied, "He lost his way is all."

"You seemed friendly."

"Just an act you know, the librarian was right around the corner." Kat smiled as she stepped into the Charms class first. Dana waved her over and her, Lena, and Darian all took their seats. Before she seated herself though, Kat glanced over the Ravenclaw boy once more, he was so sheepish.

Professor Fairweather quickly quieted the class. "Well now, Class. As you all know you all take your Ordinary Wizarding Levels this year, or O.W.Ls and I expect all you to do well, especially you Ravenclaw," she said, looking up and down the rows of Ravenclaw students, "as you are in my house. Now, I've complied a list of spells I would like us to review first before we go into newer spells, because as I recall they were especially troubled and if we are all to achieve At LEAST an Acceptable on our O.W.Ls we must go over them and perfect them. Everyone Partner up."

Except for one or two exceptions the two houses stayed separated, and Mrs. Fairweather saw this. "Well now, this just won't do. Let me rephrase that, everyone partner up with a member of the different house. Start with the Silencing Charm"

Aaron groaned as he saw all the Slytherines avoid him, partnering with others. Kat was the only Slytherine left. His friends all shot him sympathetic glances and the Slytherines all laughed softly.

Kat threw a nasty look at the familiar boy. She couldn't be seen fratanizing with someone of lesser status than she. It wouldn't be good for her. But regardless, she needed a good grade. Why not pair up with a Ravenclaw? She moved briskly and sat next to him where his friend had moved from, she was the only Slytherin on this side of the room now. 'Just great.' "I hope you know what you're doing, because paying attention isn't something I do." Her voice was thick with what seemed to be disgust, maybe even threatening. She sat on the far edge of her stool, careful to keep good space between her and the Mud-Blood.

OOC.// You know... I really have no idea how she could be the only Slytherin on that side since they all had to pair up with the other house, but I'll just go with it, haha

Aaron glared back at Kat. He didn't feel so shy since he had his Ravenclaw buddies to back him up now. "Obviously, or else you'd be scoring better than Troll on your other grades." he snapped. Professor Fairweather conjured up ravens. One per group, for them to silence. The air was filled with loud squawks and spells. "You know, you should learn this spell, maybe you can use it to silence yourself. Then you won't say something stupid in Transfiguration like yesterday." he said with a smile as he jabbed his wand in the Raven's direction. "Silencio!" he cried. The Raven's squawk was cut off mid cry, and it flapped its wings in shock as it realized it couldn't speak. Aaron removed the charm and turned to Kat. "Let's see your pure blood do that."

OOC.// Because Slytherins are stubborn and lazy bastards that would make their partners go to them. biggrin

A look of fierce hate pierced her features, "I despise this as much as you do." With a snap of her wand and a 'Silencio', Kat shut the bird up. Her failure came would shouldn't reverse the charm. She huffed in defeat, it's not like she didn't learn, she just didn't pay attention. She'd rather spend her time looking good to her friends that becoming anything worthwhile. "And don't get smart with me." She flashed him a glare that was easily seen as an act to a knowledged performer. But to others, it was just another nasty look. "And don't mock my blood when yours is as filthy as the grout between the castle's stones." The words where practically injected with what disgust Kat could muster. She glanced across the room at Lena, and an unspoken connection went between them.

Aaron gave a smug smile. She couldn't even reverse her own charm. Aaron reversed it easily and transformed the raven into a small, wailing kitten to practice silencing it also. "Ha, that's rich. That's exactly what I thought you were when I first looked at you. Some worm crawling out of a crack in the wall. Now that I've gotten a second look I take it back. That's too flattering." he shot back as he silenced the kitten.

From a desk over and one back, Lena flicked her wand and whispered something incoherent. From behind the Ravenclaw lifted an inkwell and over his head it went. but Lena faltered, and instead of dying his hair black she soaked the shoulder of his robes, dying his Ravenclaw crest black. She quickly dropped the inkwell and returned to her work.

Kat dodged some splattering and smirked cruelly, "At least I have my robes in order. Jeez, you Ravenclaws are so messy." A harsh laugh erupted from her and the other Slytherins and quickly died down when their professor snapped at them.

Aaron jumped slightly as he felt something cold and wet dripping down his neck and robes. He looked over and groaned as he noticed his robes. He pointed his wand at the stain, "Very funny." he snapped. "Scourgify!" he muttered. His wand siphoned up the ink quickly and he turned to Kat. "You seem so tough with all your cronies here, but you weren't so bitchy back in the library." he snapped, but lowering his voice so only she could hear him. Aaron turned away and started on the next charm the professor assigned them, passing through the rest of class without speaking to Kat.
