Let's face it: life is unfair. The world is unfair. Your mom. ( sweatdrop )
My mom's ordering in an iPod Shuffle for her less than 100mb of mp3s. My dad has a 40gb harddrive, even though it took him 20 minutes to find out how to first open "My Documents" and he still consults me before downloading every song to see if he has enough space for it. I doubt he knows what a gigabyte is. He got a 40gb harddrive just because within the first week with a new computer he managed to completely crash his old harddrive beyond repair.
Meanwhile, I'm stuck trying to fit over a gigabyte of music onto a little 128mb mp3 player and have to clean out my little 10gb harddrive every week for space (dad doesn't even use a 1gb of his harddrive! gonk ).
Yeah. So how unfair is your life?
(Yes... I'm bitter about all this...)

That is unfair. Try reasoning with them, showing them it'll be a waste if they don't trade with you? sweatdrop

Eh, I've tried that, they just laugh and say that life is unfair. Mom says it's just another reason why I should get a job.
(Um... by the way... is there any reason why you're a turtle?)

Arizona Dream. Just explain to them it's a waste. It should work. Why pay for a gazillion tons of space that'll never be used? scream

(Um... by the way... is there any reason why you're a turtle?) Arizona Dream. Just explain to them it's a waste. It should work. Why pay for a gazillion tons of space that'll never be used? scream That is unfair. If you're Dad only uses his computer for business (your Dad is a teacher, right?), he won't need much space. Usually all teachers use the computer for is email, and keeping marks. Where as us kids like to collect 60 000 pictures and over 5 GBs of music. Because, well, we're kids. xp
Anyway how can you're Mom expect you to get a job? gonk Sure, a paper route will pay for a 40 GB computer...in 5 years. crying
As for the mp3 player. I dunno what to say about that. I can see why you need another one. I have about 300 MB and it's still not enough. xp sweatdrop But your Mom will probably say the one you have is good enough. (That's what my Mom said...) So I'd say try to save up money. A 1 GB mp3 player can't be more than $100... sad

Emiri Neko So I'd say try to save up money. A 1 GB mp3 player can't be more than $100... sad Oh, yes it can be. Trust me on that one... 3nodding As for the job part, some resteraunts'll hire at 14. Still, even a paper route would let you save up the money. Don't most paper routes pay about $40 a month? Well, most of the 1 GB mp3 players I've looked at are about $200, so it wouldn't take that long...

My parents are too worried about me (fourteen year old teenage girl. I swear, they read too many of those kidnapping and murder stories in the newspapers...) to let me get a paper route, so I help out around the house a lot, sometimes come to work with mum and lance, just do things that need to be done. This way, I make even more then I'd get at a paper route, and I don't have to go walking in the rain delivering papers 3nodding
My parent's overprotective nature can be a pain sometimes, but in situations like this it comes in handy...

It's pretty long, but he's making about $40-$50 a month. Trust me, that 5 cents seriously piles up. But then again, he has to walk around for over an hour running up to each house getting chased by dogs and dealing with a*****e clients, usually in the rain. twisted I'm thinking of breaking into freelance writing, but it sounds like I need to develop some serious business and negotiation skills first. Standard freelance pay is about 3-8 cents per word... gonk
