Astherith (spelling off) I think her name was. I wanted her to be the new companion so badly sad Not only was she a great character who wanted to travel but she was fantastic looking.
SPOILER AHEAD
When she died I was so sad sad and then to know that Donna was the new companion = (She wasn't so bad in the end but I didn't know that when I first found out.)

Also, I think this is the Season 3 Christmas special.. Season 4's special just happened.

it's counted as season four =p The last xmas special is simply part of the "specials" category since this whole new season is in fact a series of specials. That's how I understand it at least.

Yeah I think Astrid would have made a great companion... but also I think she would have gone the same way as Rose and Martha and fallen hopelessly in love with the Doctor.
Donna was ok, even though I didn't like her personality as much I think it was really good to get someone different in for a while, you know- older, more crazy and ... snappy, not likely to fall in love with / ogle at the Doctor. It was a nice break, I think.
I really think the Doctor should have several companions, like in the good old days... Susan, Babra, Ian... and then ... well I don't know. Someone like Harry maybe, from the 4th Doctor. He's only had one or two companions for the whole of the new series. *FREAJ WANTS MOAR*

Astrid Peth is great. She don't mind herself and willing to save somebody (whom she loves at first sight?) who may able to save other lives on that sinking ship! I think if somehow 10th or 11th or even 12th can bring back those star dust, it would be great! She rocks, she has weird look but in beautiful way (for me at least redface )
I am also very sad to see her gone at the end, it's so sad. Obviously Doctor wants to travel with her too. He looks so sad when he knew she was gonna disappeared right in front of her yet he can't do anything to get her back sad crying
We didn't thought Donna could come back, but she had, so why can't Astrid Peth?? It's bloody 13 millions views! If Kylie comes back as an actress for a full season or 2, more people will willing to watch the show! Doctor Who will be bigger than ever!
