Aeolus sat under a tree, a black scarf wrapped around him tightly covering most of his face. His eyes were half closed, almost in a daze, or in deep thought. Truthfully though he was just complaining in his head about how cold it was. Winter was beautiful, but why must it be so cold? Though then again, he detested the heat of the summer very much. Autumn... that was perfect serenity. Spring was too... bleh, the thought made his stomach churn.
It was the morning and snowing. The sun had already peaked up above the horizon, but it could not be seen through the wall of white. The snow seemed to change different shades of colors, from reds and purples to pinks and blues. Good it never turned green, because green horizons meant a storm was on its way.
Loosening the scarf a bit too much it got caught by the wind and blown away, he didn't go after it though. It belonged to his owner, and she wouldn't care much because she hated to wear scarfs. His face was revealed to have a butterfly mask, so it wasn't much different from not being able to see his face when it was covered by the scarf.

Cassiela frowned. It was early February yet winter was still here laughing tauntingly at her and showering her with flakes of snow. Though the light blue pala did enjoy winter a great deal because she had a great excuse to stay indoors the whole time and when she was outside, to throw snowballs at whatever annoyed her. Yet after awhile, the joy of the season seemed to have disappeared with the time. It now seemed boring and dull and she spent as much time as she could indoors. Soon enough it would be spring. Though she couldn't say that she entirely hated spring, she just hated the mudpuddles and rainy seasons that made everything so wet and disgusting. And then after like two weeks of nice bright sunny days that no doubt her owner's family would drag her out for some 'good quality family time' and then boom! It was the scorching summer. And after sweating like one hundred galloons of water, boom! Autumn. And after having to help sweep all the leaves iin, boom! Winter again. Just the whole irritating cycle all over again.
She wrapped the thick woolen white shawl around her. It blended neatly with the snow falling down. No doubt her owner would be annoyed finding it soaking wet when she got home. Cassiela blinked through the curtains of snow. It wasn't falling too hard, just hard enough to irritate her. Yes, she did like the snow and rain. It was that she just didn't like being in it. A slight drizzle was fine with her once in awhile, but to be stuck in a shower like this wasn't helping rise her spirits.
A black snake-likes object was flying towards her and she instinctively caught it. What? Her lilac blue eyes blinked, it was a black scarf. Odd. What was it doing around here? She raised an eyebrow before continueing on down the path now holding the scarf. After all, it would be a waste to toss it now. The fabric seemed pretty good. perhaps she could cut it up later and make them into ribbons or something.

Aeolus yawned, staring out into space. This was getting annoying. Go away snow. Go away. And no, not please go away, because this is a command. So yes, go away. He caught a snow flake in his little palm, before tightly making a fist. How irritating this was getting. It was all so... dead, and silent. Deathly silent. He needed... a sound, a sound that could never getting annoying no matter how long it played and no matter how many times it is heard. An echo would do. Just an echo.
Aeolus squinted as he saw a silver figure make its way through the snow. A black scarf dangled from its fingers, and feather forms bobbed on its head. Black fringes and reflective patterns. Now what, or should he say who, could this be...? Slowly the details became sharper and sharper and he rested his head back once the silhouette transformed into a slender pala with long flowing hair. Wow. Just like in the movies. Now was it just an ordinary pala? Or perhaps an angel? He wasn't sure but he could only stare at his scarf that she had found. He gazed at it for a few moments, before looking back at her face, saying nothing. There was no point asking her to return it, wouldn't be any different if she had not found it at all.
As she drew closer at this point most others would say hello, but Aeolus being who he was didn't. Taking his eyes off the other he half closed them, going back to his previous state of half-trance. She could greet him if she wanted, but it wasn't likely he'd respond.

Cassiela frowned, what was that dark thing up ahead? It looked like a biggish rock or smallish boulder, but it was...blue. At least she thought it was for of course the snow can always make things look the way they're not. But this was not the case for as she approached, the object who happened to also be a young pala like herself was in fact, blue. The pala had strange butterfly markings and and a gigantic butterfly thing across his, at least that's what Cassiela thought it was because it was rather hard to tell what was the rather girlish markings but it looked like a boy with the colors and he was sleeping.
Rather stupid little pala, wasn't he? Going to sleep in the middle of a snowstorm, what an amazing idiot. He can go to sleep and never wake up again for he would be frozen solid and then boom! One less idiot in the world. Rejoice.
Cassiela walked up to him, the scarf still in her hands, he seemed to be asleep or at least in a trance. Perhaps he was already frozen solid? That wouldn't be too bad, but it would be a rather pityful death and Cassiela would have to go through all the trouble of explaining stuff over and over again to the police and everybody and she was far too lazy to do that, so she hoped that this idiot in the snow was perhaps still alive and to test if he was still alive yet, she aimed a kick at him,"Wake up!"

Aeolus with his quick little reflexes dodged the kick, "and if I wasn't asleep?" He narrowed his eyes and looked at her again. What kind of pala goes about kicking people? Weren't his species suppose to be happy-go-lucky rainbow ILU pain-in-the-a**s's? (With him as an exception.) She didn't appear to be any of that except for the pain in the butt part. Guess I'm not alone... Even so he doubted that they would have a mutual understanding, since after all he didn't really like himself too much.
"My scarf. May I have it back please, miss? I wasn't going to go after it but now that you have it..." He had changed his mind- if she was going to bother him than he may as well request for its return. He had a slight feeling she may refuse and begin to tease him, but he was prepared for that; definitely would he never allow himself to undergo such kind of humiliation. (Though it would be nice if she did just peacefully hand it to him.)
Getting up he brushed himself off, some frozen bits of icy snow still clinging to his fur. How annoying... He had about enough, and once this silver lady gave her answer he was going to promptly return home. Yes, a warm fire was what he needed right now...

Cassiela blinked. The pala wasn't asleep? What a pity. She hadn't had the satisfaction of kicking somebody to vent off her frustration of the world for quite sometime. Ah well, at least he wasn't frozen and the whole fiasco was avoided. "I'm sorry that I almost kicked you. I thought you asleep and you know probably that falling asleep in a snowstorm like this one is fatal. I'm glad that you are not frozen dead." She said in a polite happy tone, totally at odds with her usual frame of mind for she felt that it was best to be polite with the stranger to get to know him better and then decide what to do with him later.
"Your scarf?" Cassiela held out the black scarf out. She was rather disappointed. It would have been rather nice to cut it into pieces but this scarf was apparently not hers and it belonged to the pala in front of her. Yet deep inside of her, she would very much have liked to keep it and due to her rather disappointment on not having kicked him coupled with the loss of a few lovely black ribbons, she replied rather haughtily as she gave it back to him (though personally she would rather not have but she wasn't in the mood for hearing someone whining in her ear about handing it back), "Here. It would have been better if you had gone and gotten it yourself, but I guess being the idiot you are to be sitting outside in the middle of a snowstorm, you didn’t bother to get it.”This was all said in the same polite tone.

Aeolus did not respond, still not quite trusting the pala. Mumbling inaudibly he looked at his hands- true, he liked having all his fingers and frostbite would be quite unpleasant. But he wasn't about to admit that perhaps he shouldn't have been sitting around doing nothing. It's not my fault home is so annoying that I'd rather sit away from them in a snowstorm than be there and try and stand them. His owner was an idiot, Payday was materialistic, and Kafei was alright but she was quite vain. Sighing he placed his hands under his arms, trying to warm himself up a little. Oh, what did she know? Passerby's never really cared.
"Never mind, just keep it," and once again he changed his mind. Idiot? Look who's talking, you're in the middle of the same snowstorm! Kicking a little snow out of the way irritably he began to walk in the direction of home, in his head grumbling how he should have worn a coat or something. Fur could be so useless sometimes... Tucking his wings in he kept them as close to himself as possible.

Cassiela sighed in a rather exasperated way and stuck the scarf in front of his face just when he began walking away,"Here, take it, I have a shawl anyway. You look like a hairy walking ice cube." What a waste. That scarf could have made many pretty ribbons. Cursed feeling of pity. Ah well, at least now she wouldn't have to have a dispute with her owner about whether or not she should bring it to the lost and found and blah blah blah and more irritating nonsense. So all in all, Cassiela was helping some idiot's from freezing to death while avoiding a boring conversation? Mhm, sounded about right.
The silver pala paused, the idiot was now heading towards the direction that she had originally planned on going before she met him. She had intended to go to the cafe near her house where she could get some hot chocolate and thus, escape the noisiness of her house.
Home was so rowdy nowadays with both Lenore and Kiana that she had found it like living hell. Lenore was...well, too happy. She always seemed to have a smile on her face twenty four hours a day, three hundred sixty five days a year, and the number of years Cassiela had no idea and she on no intends wanted to know. Kiana, one the other hand, was okay since she was one of the inen but she was still Lenore's daughter and she had her happy-go-lucky times and lately, it seemed more than Cassiela could bear. After all, what was there supposed to be so happy about? People were out there killing people, epidemics killing more people, and then of course the whole planet was going to have this big magnetic force field reversal thing that was going to kill them all anyway. Quite pleasant no doubt, not that Cassiela cared much anyway. Lenore and Kiana had recently found the invention of the boom box and Cassiela had had no peaceful moment without Taylor Swift singing out of the loud speakers (her owner, unfortunately, had a whole speaker system for her dvd player and Kiana had somehow found a way to use them with the boom box as well) or some other famous person.
Cassiela sighed and followed the idiot. After all, how bad could it be walking with an idiot? At least she could get her ears some rest before having to go back home again. Plus, she wanted that hot chocolate and the possibility of having to walk with an idiot wasn't going to stop her. It was already hell at home, it couldn't be worse than it already was.

Aeolus took the scarf mumbling a thanks before wrapping it around his neck and a little bit of his face. The thin material didn't feel to make much of a difference but it was better than nothing. From the corner of his eye he saw that the illu was going in the same direction he was and he mentally made a face. Oh great, as if he hasn't already gotten enough of the stuffy pala. Not saying anything he continued walking with his hands buried under his arms for warmth.
It was quite awkward really. He was tempted to ask where she was headed but that sounded like a stupid question and he didn't want to ruin his pride by speaking to her. He was also tempted to compliment her by saying she was pretty but that was even worse. Sighing to himself he kept quiet, wondering how much farther home was. He furrowed his eyebrows, not looking forward to everyone making a rant over where he had been and how worried they were when they weren't actually worried at all.

Cassiela frowned. This awkward silence was becoming really...awkward. With the snow billowing around them and the wind howling, there was really nothing to talk about but still, it was really frustrating having a person beside you and not talking to him/her. Not that she wanted to talk to the idiot, but the silence was getting rather dull and boring, so thinking that she might as well break the silence, seeing as she still had almost fifteen minutes to walk,"So...where are you heading?"
Not that she really cared the slightest bit anyway, but it seemed a good way to kill time...asking useless pointless questions. All she really cared about was getting to the place was going as fast as possible so she could leave this idiot but seeing as there was snow all around them, it didn't seem that she could hurry up the speed not that she really cared, she was never much of an athletic person anyway and running was just blah. So she just tried to make time pass as quickly as possible that was to have an conversation...wasn't it?

"Nowhere important; just home. And yourself?" He asked, turning his head a little towards her, but not really looking. He thought of anything else to say- but he could only think of that compliment. And he really didn't want to compliment her... After some quick thinking he came up with a way to say it that didn't damage his pride and ego too greatly. "The.... the winter suits you," he paused, because if he spoke too quickly he might call her an 'ice queen'. After a slight moment he continued, "because they say speech is silver and silence golden but whilst winter is silent I think silver fits it much better- because it and white go hand in hand. ...And gold isn't really all that pretty of a color anyways actually..." He hoped that made enough sense to get the point across. But it didn't matter if it didn't, it was her own fault if she didn't understand.
Continuing the walk he had a growing desire to create a snowball and throw it in the air for the hell of it but he narrowly avoided the childlike temptation. I'm not some fool or idiot to grab some snow when my fingers feel frostbitten already.

Cassiela paused, considering if she should reveal the location of her goal or not for if on the off chance that the pala might suddenly decide to come along...Well, that would be more time wasted in the company of this idiot. But then again, sitting in the cafe all by herself would seem rather awkward. Whatever..."I'm going to the cafe for some hot chocolate. It's a nice way to get out of the racket back home..."
She blinked. Where had it been said that speech was silver? Sure, she had heard that silence is golden, but speech silver? But anyways, could she take this as a compliment? It was so oddly phrased that she couldn't tell if it was a compliment or just a plain comment but being a pala who didn't really care what others thought of her, she took it as a compliment. "Thank you...Silver does fit silence better for it lacks color, similiar to white whereas gold recalls the warmth of the sun which shines the most in spring and summer and such seasons are definately not silent the slightest." She paused. It was funny hearing the pala say that he disliked the color gold for in the midst of his navy coat, there was more than a little gold but of course no one could control how they looked.

The thought of hot chocolate and having a way to avoid home a little longer was very tempting, but Aeolus wasn't sure if he wanted to spend more time with the temporary companion. They both weren't very good at conversation with people who weren't very good at having a conversation with people who aren't good at conversation. He'd think on it though.
"I don't like the summer weather very much, what about you? The only thing that I appreciate is that while everyone is busy "having fun" outside I get be alone inside reading or something..." Yes, next to a nice cool air conditioner (it was a shame that the human though was the same as him, though luckily she would silently devote herself to the computer so he could still be alone in the peace and quiet).

Cassiela gave a breath of relief. The pala hadn't mentioned anything about going to the cafe too and that was perfectly fine with her because she still hadn't quite gone over her inital annoyance towards the idiot. Thus, his company to the cafe wouldn't be very appreciated but as the conversation progressed, she felt that he was slightly, conversationally acceptable. At least he was nothing like Lenore who always seemed to love having a conversation any time of the day and have the most random subjects as well.
"Summer weather is very...bothersome. It's always so hot and humid, and what with the sun beating down, it's surprising how many crazy people in the world like it so much and go around running about outside. But at least it's quiet at home and mostly everyone is away 'having fun' as well. I just stay inside pretty much all of the summer unless I get dragged out by somebody or something. Air conditioning is definately one of the best of man's inventions. Without it, I don't really know how I would survive, but during the summer, there's ice cream and it's only in that season that I can eat it because as you see, my owner won't give me ice cream during the winter cause she says that it's just crazy because it's already cold and eating cold stuff would make me sick. But ice cream tastes good and I could honestly care less. Ah well..." Cassiela blinked. Wow, she spoke a whole monologue. That was pretty impressive considering that most of the time, she didn't bother talking to anyone in particular. Ah well.

"My owner is pretty different; she'll drink hot cocoa in the summer and eat ice cream in the winter. She says "I want it now so I'll have it now" as an excuse but I think otherwise- bet she's just frugal and scoping out sales," he shrugged, "with her as a "role model" I don't exactly always think all things through thoroughly, one example being when you found me sitting around in this blizzard." Hey, not bad.~ Perhaps he was easing up to this "communication" thing.
He paused for a bit, thinking of what else to say. The cafe? He could ask about the cafe... Yes, this was a way to sway his opinions. I'll just set my standards high, and I'll swing away from the idea of accompanying her if it doesn't suit my ideals. "So... the cafe you're going to, what's it like...?" He asked not-so-curiously. Yes- it must be very clean and have a cozy atmosphere- everything they serve must taste excellent, and you can give someone that works there a lot of crap with them still returning a happy smile.
