I am a junior in high school, studing at a community college, and I have just spent my morning going though emails that colleges have sent me, and now I wonder what colleges other people have thought about or are going to.

As I want to work in the anime business: translating, script writting, directing, acting, I want a school that deals with the arts and forieng languages. Right now, I am looking at Willamette University or University of Evansville. The best deal right now seems to be UE, because they have courses in Japanese and studing abroad opertunities in places like Egypt, Greece, Italy, Japan, and England. All of those places are key intersts for me, having never left the United States.

So, what about you? Any college caught your eye? What are you looking for in higher education? Any college of the Arts you want to inform others about?

University of utah is where i HAVE to go. but you have to have taken two years of a language to be able to even get in.... -__-

slowly and painfully Self teaching myself the japanese language (which is offered at ANYWHERE near here) is not even acknowledged by by them as an education.

I would consider Italian as a second choice but they don't offer that anywhere either... all we have is german, spanish and french. rolleyes they would have had chinese but they dropped that course last year because no one wanted it there. But that doesn't matter. none of those languages even interest me!!! burning_eyes

I feel...reoressed. like the world not going to allow me to reach out and attain my full potential.

I think the difference between college and universities is that the universities offer a higher degree of education, and they cost more. Because I study currently at a community college, I wouldn't call it a university. College is just the title of a higher education, I think. I don't think anyone ever says I went to university at Such-place. They say I went to college at (Embry Riddle University for example).

If my school offered German I would have taken it over Japanese. I love Europe. Plus, Germany is one of the places I could study abroad at if I went to UE.

I just started at my local community college, I'm not sure where I'm going after that, though I expect it will be for art.
