Location: Lab 305/ Cherry Park under the infamous Make-Out Tree

This was like a heist, only the prize here was much more valuable than mere money or material belongings. Rivener waited behind a building a block away from the new Lab 305, carefully watching the doors. His Rune-powered heart was pounding: he knew how close it was now! How exciting, he felt like a master thief or something! He couldn't keep the grin off his face as he waited, fangs shining in the daylight.
He'd cased out the place for DAYS. He'd looked for a proper location nearby to draw the victim to. He knew the pattern of everyone who came in and out regularly, and short of some kind of fluke happening Rivener had it all planned out perfectly.
Ah, there was Dr Kyou, leaving for his usual trip to the cake store. With Alex being on her day off and Isi being busy with Eiry and Mouse having an appointment to take care of, it left only ONE person in the Lab... Giggling like a madman, Rivener flicked open the cellphone he'd stolen from Aphi and dialed the lab. The Scorpion nearly bounced in place, hunched at the corner suspiciously and staring at the Lab as he listened to the ringing on the line.
Someone picked up the line. Without waiting for even a "Hello?", knowing it would be more urgent-sounding like this, Rivener spouted out his rehearsed line as perfectly as any Oscar-Winner. They were his teachers, after all!
"Ah! Hello? Anyone, someone, help! I-It's Rivener, something's happened, I need help! Please come to the tallest tree near the waterfall pond in Cherry Park! Hurry, I can't-" And here he snapped the cell closed, as though he'd been cut off by something mid-sentence. He grinned widely. "Eeeexcellent," he mumbled before he took off as quick as possible. He had to get to Cherry Park first, after all, and set up his Camera secretly...

Stunned, Lazarus stared at the receiver for a while before his brain managed to process the sudden information he just received. That was definitely Rivener's voice alright, and it sounded like an emergency. Finally letting the sense of urgency settle in, he rushed to look for Kyou in the lab. Only to realize it's the time Kyou visits the cake store almost everyday. "Damn that sweet tooth!" Lazarus cursed aloud.
There's no other choice, Lazarus is on his own now. Grabbing the front door keys that Kyou had forgotten on the counter, Lazarus rushed out the lab and locked the front doors. Can't leave the lab unattended and unlocked, that's just like an open invitation to a burglar.
Cherry Park, that's just a few blocks from the lab. Without hesitation, Lazarus took off in the direction of the park. What could have happened? Lazarus wondered, many thoughts racing through his mind. Did Eiry get hurt? He seemed a little gloomy lately. Is somebody in danger? Or is it, did Rivener accidentally hurt someone again?! Whatever it is, Lazarus will find out when he get to the park. He grabbed Kyou's forgotten cellphone while on his way out too, just in case he need to call the ambulance or anything. That forgetful sweet tooth.
Arriving in the park, Lazarus quickly made his way to the waterfall pond. He wasn't sure which tree is the tallest, since they all seem almost the same height to him. Chest heaving from rushing over here, Lazarus looked around the vicinity, trying to spot Rivener among the flora. "Rivener??!"

Rivener had gotten to the park really quickly, and he'd set up his camera on the branch of a nearby tree. Ever since he'd discovered that he could program the small gadget to take pictures every few seconds, Rivener had begun plotting how he could get away with this... And now he waited behind the tall tree known among locals as the Make-Out tree. It took all of Riv's self-control not to rub his hands together in evil glee as he waited.
He didn't have to wait long. A rather flustered-looking Lazarus floated quickly closer, looking around for Rivener. Aw, was Laz actually worried? That was rather sweet! Riv supposed that if he didn't have his heart set on this picture, he would feel a little guilty about tricking his friend into it... But surely Laz would forgive him. Besides, it won't be anything very bad. Riv just wanted a picture of himself and Laz together, with the Fire sigel looking perhaps startled or surprised or... well, anything but just floating there.
Snickering to himself for just a moment, Rivener put on his acting face: eyebrows up in concern, red eyes just panicked enough, wings pressed back against himself and hands wringing at each other nervously. Like this, his camouflage complete, Rivener floated out from behind the tree, careful to stay within the photo range of his camera.
"Lazarus! Thank god! Over here, quickly!" He motioned for the elder Raevan to come closer. Oh, this was too easy. Lazarus hurried over innocently enough and Rivener heard the "click" of his camera. He knew he had exactly three more seconds to the next picture, and he would only have one shot to get the EXACT moment...
The instant Laz was within range of the camera, time was almost up and Rivener launched himself at the Sigel, wrapping arms around the gorgeous floating torso and landing a direct hit: Lips to the cheek!
Click!
Rivener pulled away just enough to grin mischievously at Lazarus. "Thank you for coming so quickly, my hero!" He chuckled.

Eyes wide with shock, this was the second stunned moment he had today. Did... did Rivener did what he just thought he did?! The sensation of Riv's lips on his cheek and his arm around his torso lingers still. "Wh-what?! Just now... y-you... wha...??!!" In a fit of messed up line of thoughts, Lazarus only managed to utter a string of babbles, blushing profusely.
Just a few moments ago Rivener looked terrified, Lazarus was convinced that something was wrong. The next moment he had a kiss planted on his cheek and Rivener grinning mischievously. Only a few moments later that he realized what happened. It was a prank!!
In any normal situation, one would get angry and launch a string of curse words at the prankster. But instead of that, Lazarus felt like a rock had lifted from his insides, he was relieved. He was relieved that nothing was wrong. And then it happened. It started with a soft chuckle, but it quickly turned into a hearty laugh. "Hahahaha!! Wow Rivener, I never thought you would be such a good actor. You really had me convinced there." he complimented. "But seriously, what was that for? For all I know, it's not April's fool yet." he said, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye.

Rivener's grin was very wide and amused as Lazarus blinked at him like that, looking flabbergasted. What a priceless reaction! Rivener's grin only cracked wider as he heard another telltale click from the nearby camera, immortalizing the fire Sigel's face forever in that stunned expression.
A few seconds later, however, it was RIVENER'S turn to get captured on camera looking completely flabbergasted as Lazarus burst out laughing. The Scorpion let go of his hug on Laz, backing up a little bit to blink at the other. He wasn't mad? He was even complimenting Riv's acting abilities?
"Ah... W-well, it was-... that is, I, uh... Ah!" The camera kept taking pictures every few seconds, and Rivener remembered that he should probably turn it off. He hurried off to the tree and took it out, pushing the button that got it to stop. Turning back with a sheepish smile, he lifted the gadget and chuckled. "Heh, it was for this. It's Valentine's soon, and as a present to me I wanted a picture of you and me together, and I came up with this big plan to get you by surprise and kiss your cheek. ...You're not angry?" Rivener tentatively floated back to Laz's side, ready to defend himself if the Incubus suddenly decided he was not so amused anymore.

"Oh, it IS Valentines soon!" Lazarus exclaimed. Being one that doesn't really look at the calendar closely, he had totally forgotten about this special occassion. Not to mention the lack of Valentines display in the lab. Kyou is too busy with work, what with training the new employees and preparing for Jeremy's move-in and all. Maybe he should do something for Kyou for Valentines.
Lazarus frowned slightly at the camera that Rivener took out from the branches. "You did all those for a photo?" he asked, moving towards Rivener. "Let me see it."

Rivener was so happy to see that Laz wasn't overreacting to this at all. Hell, the fire sigel even wanted to SEE the picture! Excited to see it himself, Rivener pushed a few buttons to get to the review mode, and floated over to Laz's side, angling the LCD screen so they could both see. There were a few pictures of just the park, as the auto-picture-taking had started without anyone being there. Then Laz suddenly appeared in the picture, and the next picture had him looking surprised with Rivener draped across him, lips on cheek.
"Perfect timing!" Rivener said happily, flapping his wings. He couldn't have framed that picture better if he'd tried! "Ah, there's more though." He continued to show the photos.
Next came one of Riv grinning , and Laz looking completely stunned. Then came a picture of Laz laughing and Rivener looking completely stunned. The last picture was of Laz looking amused and Rivener reaching for the camera.
"There's some good ones... I look so stupid in that one where you're laughing. Heheh. But anyway, did you want any of these, then? I could print one and give it to you, if you want..."

Moving closer to Rivener, he looked at the mini screen on the camera in fascination. To be honest, Lazarus had not been very well versed with modern technology in general. He knows how to run the machines in the lab, turn on the television and maybe use he microwave in the kitchen. Since he usually go there to feed on the fire from the cooking stove. Only now that he realized that all his knowledge on electronics had been contained within the lab only.
He looked at Rivener scrolling through the pictures like a stop motion movie sequence, both amused by the captured expressions and interested at this thing called 'digital camera' for the first time.
"I like that picture when you looked stunned while I was laughing. That expression is priceless!" Lazarus grinned. He contemplated a little bit on Rivener's offer though, he isn't usually the type to collect photographs, but he could probably start somewhere. "I think I would like a copy of the photographs, if you wouldn't mind? Just not the earlier pictures with just the park."

Riv blinked over at Laz, smiling. "So, you'd like a copy of each of these three, even the kiss one?" The Scorpion's smile turned into a big grin and Rivener chuckled, turning off the camera and shoving it in his pocket. "Alright! I'll print those and send them to you as soon as I can. ...Uhm, I gotta say, Laz, thanks for being so good about this. I mean, I know you never like it when I throw myself at you, but you kinda took it all in stride this time. I was scared you'd blow me up or something." Riv snickered, hunching up his shoulders sheepishly.
"Well, I guess I should go... And you need to get back to the Lab, yeah? Thanks for the pictures, and for being cool about it. I'll see ya around, then!" With a wave and a final grin of parting, Rivener turned and floated towards home. This had gone much, much better than he'd anticipated!

Lazarus frowned a little bit, he probably wouldn't like the kiss picture as much as Rivener does, but it contributes to the string of events resulted afterwards. Which is what made the photos so amusing. He laughed at Rivener's comment, "I don't blow up everytime I got angry. I got to grow up some time, you know. Trying to learn to control my temper nowadays." he paused, thinking back of the few instances when he lost his temper, which caused great grief and trouble. No, he will not let those things happen again.
"I look forward to receiving them, laters." he waved at the departing Rivener. Just then he suddenly remembered, he forgot to tell Rivener not to play a prank like that again.
