with England's recent snowstorms (makes a change!) where i live has been covered in roughly 6 inches of snow. so i decided last night to go out and build a snowman... when it came to dressing it, i found my waistcoat, trilby, brown/grey scarf, and loads o small plastic grey gears. right, photo's: http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd92/SingleGunner/100_2101.jpghttp://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd92/SingleGunner/100_2102.jpghttp://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd92/SingleGunner/100_2103.jpg(by the lords of the aether! looking at those photo's, i just realised how much the snow makes my garden look awful! even though the plants are dead, it doesn't look dreadful like that!) still, has anyone else built a steampunk snowman recently? (photos?) also, heres a song for Frosty the Snowpunk: "Frosty the SnowPunk, was a jolly happy soul, With face of cogs, a trilby hat, And his body ran on coal.
Frosty the Snowpunk is a fairy tale, they say, He was made of snow but the children Know how he came to life one day.
There must have been some aether in that Old trilby they found. For when they placed it on his head He began to grind around.
O, Frosty the snowpunk Was machine as he could be, But the children say he could laugh And play just the same as you and me.
Clankety Clank Clank, Clankety Clank Clank, Look at Frosty go. Clankety Clank Clank, Clankety Clank Clank, Over the hills of snow.
Frosty the snowpunk, Knew his Boiler was hot that day, So he said, "Let's run and We'll have some fun Now before I melt away."
Down to the village, With a BOOMstick in his hand, Running here and there all Around the square saying, Catch me if you can.
He led them down the streets of town Right to the traffic cop. And he only paused a moment when He heard him holler "Stop!"
For Frosty the snowpunk Started to melt away, By the time he'd gone, all were left were cogs, But we'll build him back some day.
Clankety Clank Clank, Clankety Clank Clank Look at Frosty go. Clankety Clank Clank, Clankety Clank Clank Over the hills of snow."the lyrics are mostly from the original, but with some steamy rewrites here and there (sorry for the slightly out of sync last verse, that was a complete rewrite)

cheers!
seems like we are the only ones online this morning... (this guild needs more activity! if only steampunk was more well-known!)
also, i just thought of something, even though it is Feb now, maybe we should have a competition to see who can write/re-write the best steampunk themed xmas poem. good idea?

Yes, it is rather quiet here a lot of the time. I like it that way really, very busy guilds are a bit headache-y, to be honest.

i might draw him myself, except he will look much cooler than in the image (pun not intended...) as he will have large gears sticking out from him, and probably be on tracks too
