Another one of these things I guess. I have a lot of things that I do, or want to ask to do, that I just feel plain awkward in doing. Some of those things are wearing shorts in the presence of company (and we're not on a beach or near a pool or anything), eating when nobody else is, or smoking in a group that doesn't smoke, but doesn't mind if you smoke.
Possibly the thing that makes me feel the most awkward, however, is when I ask a friend to simply hold me. It's... just awkward.

Tell me, exactly what does freedom mean...
For me (although I will probably never understand why) I find it very awkward to be barefoot. I ALWAYS wear socks whenever I'm not in the shower and such.
...if I'm not free to be as twisted as I want to be?

Maybe it's similar to just having exposed things that you don't want exposed. Not sure about your view on feet though. Or maybe you just find socks comfy?
I just don't like my legs showing. Granted, I don't have bad legs according to people; I just don't like showing them...

For me, I find eating around others, whether they're friends or relatives or stuff, incredibly awkward. As such, I tend to not eat as much around others. When I go grab lunch with a couple friends, I will likely not finish whatever it is I'm eating. At family gatherings I don't eat as much. Hell, even when Mr. Cow was here I ate less than I usually do.

Haha, I never really feel awkward about anything I do, but I know I probably should. Like when I change, and I'm talking about FULLY changing including boxers and all, in front of people even if it's the first time I've met them. Then again, I think I'm just retarded or something >_>
I can understand how the smoking thing would kinda make you feel out of place, and the asking a friend to hold you... Yeah, I could also see that one making you feel that way too. Then again, if you were to hang out with one of my friends, they probably would, then squeeze your a** while holding you = /

Once I get permission that I can do something I usually have no problems anymore. The feelings of awkwardness are still there; they're just lessened (mainly because I wonder if they truly meant it, but then I wonder why would they say that if they didn't mean it).
Squeeze my a**? That would be really awkward for me. Just like one time my roommate snuck up behind me while I was working and rubbed my nipples in just the right way (though he didn't know it). I sort of just froze and tensed up in the kitchen.

My friends would probably do that too. Hell, maybe they'd even ask if they could lick them ( They wouldn't actually do it though )
Weird people I hang around with.

Lin, if you're looking for someone who has lots of things that make them feel awkward you just did! Some of my more major ones include: -Initiating any sexual activity with GTR. It's not that I'm not attracted to him, there are times when all I want to do is jump his bones. But for some reason I just can't get myself to do anything first. It's so bad I can't even just randomly kiss him. That's why I think I'm sexually retarded. -In any sort of group of people I haven't known for at least 2 years. It doesn't matter if it's just one other person or a huge crowd of people. -Porn. I simply cannot watch porn. I get all embarassed and such, same with touching my cooch in any way. I can't even use tampons for that reason, again tying into being sexually retarded. -Asking for help, whether it be looking for something in a grocery store, or something like borrowing money. I just can't do it. -Eating in public. I'm horribly self conscious when eating in public. -Being in public alone. I hate shopping, walking or anything else that has to do with being out in public alone. -Not wearing eyeliner and penciling on my eyebrows. When I was younger I didn't have them so that's what I still see when I look at myself. My face always looks naked, if you will, to me. It's hard for me to go through a day, even if I'm going to be at home in my pj's all day, without putting that stuff on. I have a bunch of smaller things that make me feel awkward but those, I feel, affect me the most.

ooooh, good question I'm gonna have to go with arm-swinging in public. When I'm walking in a public place with loads of people I'm fine until I start thinking about how I'm swinging my arms and then suddenly whatever I do I feel stupid. That's why I always hold my ipod, so I have something to do with my hands
How's that for weird?!

I feel awkward in public period. I'm not much of a social butterfly, so I become terribly self-conscious when I'm in a crowd. Logically, I know that the people around me have no need or want to judge me in any way, but this deep-seated paranoid psychosis of mine still manages to override that. ...Now that I think on it, this is probably why I never post any pictures or voice clips of myself...

I definitely cannot eat in front of other people, unless they're also busy eating. Even going and retrieving food from the fridge is something I tend not to do around people I don't know really well. xp It's just very very awkward and uncomfortable.
Also, anytime I'm a guest at someone's house, and they offer me a drink, I only ever accept water. I don't know why. =x Even if it's just tap water, and even if everyone else is drinking juice or whatever. I'm not sure why.

Witnessing flagrant public displays of affection. Totally weirds me out every time I see it. I feel like it's ok when you're alone with your mate, but otherwise it isn't really appropriate. It makes me feel like I should leave the room or something. I also can't stand seeing other people when they are vulnerable, so maybe it's related.
When it comes to me, there isn't anything I do that makes me uncomfortable around others at this point. Granted, this doesn't mean it won't make others feel awkward. I've just decided to ignore social stigmas and be myself when I'm at home. I'll be a bit more "socially normal" out in public just because I don't want to risk upsetting someone who may one day be in a position to influence one of my projects or goals. No point in burning your bridges before you cross them! mrgreen

Asking absoultly anyone if they want to see a movie. It's either gay or makes it sound like I am asking a girl out.

I'm totally feeling awkward right now as I love someone that's sorta with me but I don't think he feel's the same way about me, another guy love's me but I don't think I want to go that way and I think a guy is cute but he's too far away and I only just sorta mess him so I don't think that's a really good idea to be saying anything!
God...!!
