Jan 31st

Leslie: *sitting up in a tree, looking at the stars*

Zuri: -Quietly and hesitantly enters the are and starts nibbling on some grass-

Leslie: *hears something and looks down, spotting Zuri and wondering whether she should say hello or not*

Zuri: -Feels he is being watched. Slowly turns to the female and relaxes-

Leslie: *waves* Hello. *smiles* How are you this evening?

Zuri: I-I'm good. How are you?

Leslie: I am well. It is a nice night out. ^^

Zuri: Y-yes. I suppose it is. What are you doing?

Leslie: I'm admiring the stars while perched upon this tree. 3nodding

Zuri: Oh. I don't think I got your name the last time we met.

Leslie: It's Leslie. ^^ So what is your name?

Zuri: I-I'm Zuri. It is a pleasure to meet you, again.

Leslie: Likewise. *looks back up at the sky* Have you ever gazed at the stars before?

Zuri: -Shakes his head- I don't think I have ever done so.

Leslie: Really? *thinks for a moment* Would you like to join me? *pats next to her on the branch*

Zuri: Uhh..O-ok then. -Trots over and slips a few times as he tries to climb up, but eventually makes it up. Trembles as he takes a seat next to Leslie-

Leslie: *looks up at the stars with a small smile* Aren't they lovely?

Zuri: -Stares in awe- Yeah, they really are. -smiles-

Leslie: *smiles at bit more* Some nights I like to just sit up here and look at them all night. If we're lucky we might get to see a shooting star.

Zuri: A shooting star? Stars have guns?

Leslie: Wrong type of shooting. More like a star that flies across the sky until it goes out of sight.

Zuri: Oh, hehehe -feels dumb- I knew that.

Leslie: *smiles and looks back up* Did you know each star is actually a sun very very far away?

Zuri: Really? That's amazing. So, there are other suns out there besides ours?

Leslie: *nods* Yes, there are.

Zuri: How do you know so much about space?

Leslie: I heard stories from those who had read books on the subject. Of course, I checked the same books to get a more direct and pure source of information as well. ^^

Zuri: Oh, so you read a lot of books?

Leslie: *nods* It's fun to read. In a way it lets you go to new places. 3nodding

Zuri: It must be interesting. Seeing as where I am from I have never really seen many books.

Leslie: Where are you from? *has a slight idea since he's a natural, but is curious nonetheless*

Zuri: Africa, a beautiful, yet dangerous place...

Leslie: Africa...that's a large continent. ^^ I've only ever been here.

Zuri: It really is an amazing place. So much diveristy and beauty in it all.

Leslie: It's sort of a shame I can't go see it aside from books and pictures. ^^

Zuri: An imagination can still be just as beautiful if not more.

Leslie: *nods* You speak the truth. ^^

Leslie: I've gone to the depths of the ocean with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. ^^

Zuri: Sounds interesting. What is it like under the sea?

Leslie: There is a lot of life and unusual creatures down beneath the sea, some you have to see to be able to imagine. =3 *is quoting mostly from television shows she's seen*

Zuri: -Blinks the at "quote" XD" Why does that sound like it is from a TV show?

Leslie: Because it is. xd I had to go look up some of the animals the book described. For instance, I didn't know what a Nautilis was until I looked it up. It's apparently a creature that makes its home in a spiral shell and it creates chambers to live in, sealing the old chamber behind it. It was very neat. 3nodding Not to mention some odd looking creatures that I'm not sure how to describe except.

Zuri: Oh. -laughs- That makes sense then. I think I shall look up the book and the creatures with in when I get the chance. The only body of water I have ever seen are lakes and..there isn't much in there.

Leslie: There's actually a lot in lakes if you're interested in small things like insects and tadpoles, but I know what you mean. ^^

Zuri: Well, there are more bugs in the world than anything else.

Leslie: Yes there are. Not so many in the Winter though. *thinks of something* Did you know that Ladybugs can predict weather about 6 months into the future quite reliably?

Zuri: Why and how?

Leslie: Nobody know how, but it's because they hibernate in clusters for the winter. They can apparently find a place to hide out that will never get so cold that they freeze and die. Even sort of in the open.

Zuri: Wow, all these random facts are quite interesting.

Leslie: Aren't they? I like learning about nature and the fascinating things in it and even beyond it. ^^

Zuri: Nature is an interesting thing to learn about. You never know what new discoveries and creatures there are. It can be so simple, yet so fascinating and complex.

Leslie: Yes it is. I think that's because that is how life is. Simple, yet at the same time complex and fascinating in its complexity. Like Photosynthesis. ^^

March 23rd

Leslie: *curled up beneath a tree with a book*

Zuri: -Fidgets as he stumbles out and tries to shake some leaves and vines off himself-

Leslie: *looks up* Oh, hello. =) Need some help?

Zuri: -Blushes a bit and nods- T-that would be nice..

Leslie: Okay. ^^ *sets her book aside using a stay leaf as a bookmark, and goes over to him, untangling the vines on him*

Zuri: -Wiggles out of the vines and falls to the ground with a whimpers- Thanks for the help. Sorry if I interrupted you..

Leslie: You're welcome, and I don't mind. I can always pick the book up again later. ^^ So how're you?

Zuri: -Ears perk a little bit- A-are you sure I'm not interrupting?

Leslie: *nods* Nope, you're not interrupting at all. ^^

Zuri: Oh..okay then. -smiles a bit- um..how are you doing?

Leslie: I'm good. ^^ How are you?

Zuri: I've been alright, well..up until somethine scared me and I tripped down that hill...

Leslie: Oooh...did you see what it was? D= I'm glad to see that you don't seem to be hurt, or at least not seriously.

Zuri: -Nods- I was too busy screaming and running..

Leslie: Well, the important thing is that you're okay. ^^ *wonders if it was another namir* Do you think it might have been an Elder? Apparently there have been Elder growths not too long ago.

Zuri: I..I'm not so sure. I'm not even sure if I want to know..

Leslie: *nods* True. *thinks* Oh, did you know that it's officially Spring? It's going probably to warm up some more pretty soon. =3

Zuri: Really? Doesn't spring mean more kits?

Leslie: It does? *thinks* Well, there might be more kits being born. ^^ I don't know if anyone at the house is ready for kits though. They tend to move out before then.

Zuri: Well, spring is like..a time of new birth, right?

Leslie: *nods* Yeah, it is. =D I wonder how many couples will become parents. ^^

Zuri: I'm not sure. I know no one at my place is having any kits.

Leslie: Anyone who would be having kits from my place would have moved out already. So that would leave...1 namir? He moved out recently, so he might get kids.

Zuri: Oh, well I wish him luck.

Leslie: *nods* Same here. =3 Your house might get a new member anyway though. Sometimes namrah get sent to new homes so they get the attention they need. ^^

Zuri: -Blinks- Namrah do that?

Leslie: Apparently some do. I heard that Lexis was like that. He was sent to a human home to be given more attention since his parents didn't think they could take care of all 3 kids at once.

Zuri: Oh..well..I guess that can work as long as the parents still visit and see their kids.

Leslie: *nods* Yeah...though I don't know if I'd want to send my kids away if I had them. Maybe if I had a lot of them at once, but otherwise I think I'd find a way to make keeping them at home and raising them myself work.

Zuri: You're self? Would the father not help you?

Leslie: Oops, I meant to include the father too. xD Of course he would help. ^^

Zuri: -Chuckles- Alright, that sounds good. At least the father won't be someone who ups and leaves.

Leslie: If he did I would be very upset with him. >( Then I'd probably try to find someone, like a friend, who doesn't mind helping out.

Zuri: If you ever find youself in that situation, and I hope you don't, I don't mind helping out.

Leslie: Really? Thanks. ^^ I appreciate the gesture, even if I hope it never comes up.

Zuri: No problem Leslie. I'm always willing to help out those I know.

Leslie: That's very kind of you. ^^ Oh, same goes for me. If you find yourself in that situation I'd be happy to help out.

Zuri: Thank you. So, what were you reading?

Leslie: It's something called Duma Key. It's about a human who gets into an accident and loses his arm and injures the part of his brain that influences speech and vocal memory, and he moves to a place in Florida called Duma Key to rehabilitate afterward. It's got some supernatural tones to it also, but I haven't really read up to them yet.

Zuri: -Blinks- That sounds interesting. How do humans come up with things like that?

Leslie: They take from real experiences and add their own take on it I suppose. ^^

Zuri: I guess..I wonder if a Namir could ever right a book!

Leslie: I don't see why not. They'd probably need to get a human to pen down what the author is saying though. ^^

Zuri: Unless they learn how to write. I know some Namrah have learned how to.

Leslie: They have? Neat. =3 I don't know how to do it, the pencil keeps falling out of my paw. >.>

Zuri: I don't think it is with a pencil, unless they learn to write with one on their mouth. Hm...

Leslie: Maybe they use ink and dab a claws into it?

Zuri: I think hat could work. I've seen some just writing in the dirt with their claws and paws.

Leslie: Oh, I've seen that too. So it would make sense to me. Just have to be careful not to let the ink drip. =3

Zuri: How hard do you think learning to write is?

Leslie: Probably a little difficult to get used to at first, but if you already know how to read I don't think it would be too hard.

Zuri: Well..then I guess I could..do...alrightish.

Leslie: Yeah, me too. ^^ What would you write about?

Zuri: Uh...I don't know to be honest.

Leslie: Me neither. Maybe you'd write about where you came from?

Zuri: Africa? Aren't there books on Africa already?

Leslie: Yes, but you could write about your personal experiences there. Oh, and how you got to Namiah. It could be like an autobiography. ^^

Zuri: I never thought of it that way..but I would never have anything interesting to say.

Leslie: You never know, what may be uninteresting to you may be interesting to someone else. ^^

Zuri: -Ears flick-...I suppose so..

Leslie: *nods* And if you wanted to you could always write fiction. If I wanted to write a story I'd have to go that route.

Zuri: Haha, I don't think I am creative enough to do something like that.

Leslie: Really? Well, not everyone is a writer. ^^ I don't know if I could write a story that would interest others.

April 12th

Leslie: *wanders through the wood*

Zuri: -Is sitting by a small river, all wet and shivering-

Leslie: *sees Zuri through the trees* ...? *wanders closer to see that it is indeed Zuri* Hello. *waves and tilts her head* Cold? *wonders if he fell in*

Zuri: -Jumps and nearly falls back in to the river. Quickly turns around with wide-eyes, but relaxes when he realizes it is Leslie. Nods- Y-yes, I am.

Leslie: Fall into the river? =( *wonders if there's anything she could get to warm him up*

Zuri: Y-yes, I..-blushes- I got startled again and..fell in..

Leslie: Ah...okay. *thinks* Maybe a walk will warm you up a bit? Or a run?
