This thread is for things you love, use daily, and cant live without in the kitchen! Explain what it is, what it does, what you use it for, and the best things about it! Does it have websites? What stores is it sold in? I nominate the GT Express 101, and actually i learned of it off of an infomercial at 3am but it really impressed me - And after cooking it only got better! Most things cook under 10 minutes, and you dont have to use oil/butter! It is seperated into 2 sides, and they are completely separated, so you can cook chicken in one, and an omelet in the other. Want to bake a hand size cake? No problem. Make some parsley fish? No problem site for those interested* What is your ultimate cooking tool? * Why have you chosen this? * What types of things do you cook with it?

a blender for making smoothies. I'm thinking about using my refund money to invest in either a vitamix or a dehydrator. I'm currently leaning more towards the vitamix.

Use daily? Can't live without? Take care of lovingly and lavish affection on? That would be my cast iron skillets and my chef's knife. heart heart heart I cook something in cast iron every day, often twice a day or even more.
On the more gadgety end of things, I find my food processor pretty useful. It's a Cuisinart cira 1982 and it still works like a charm xd I use the grating disk to grate potatoes for latkes or hash browns, and the metal blade for pureeing hummus and the like and for PIE CRUST heart heart But I can live without it, it's just a life containing less latkes and less pie.

I love my stainless steel cookware! I always used cast iron, but I really like these pots and pans. Still have the cast iron, of course, including a huge frying pan from my Grandmother that will fry 4 whole chickens at once---of course, it's got to be used over a campfire or grill, the thing is just huge.
It's not for cooking, but I would be lost now without our countertop icemaker. I have used it every single day for the past year and a half, and I would be lost without it! (Yeah, that's me, wrapped in a blanket watching the ice come down and drinking iced tea blaugh ) And there's the lemon squeezer that I can't live without.
Love my basic cooking utensils and get really upset if someone (read "husband") decides to use them for something they weren't made for.
The best thing I've had all these years through all the kids has been the popcorn popper!

Curry spices, garlic butter and parmesan cheese with herbs, melted candy----you name it, I think they tried it! It was the perfect after-school do-it-yourself snack, as long as they cleaned up their mess, and they usually did. They didn't want the popper to "disappear"---- I'm just glad I didn't get the processor until they were older. biggrin

My stoneware Crockpot! Throw a bunch of food in when I am out of town for the afternoon and 4-10 hours (depending on how long I set it for). Bingo dinner is done when I get home!

I second the slow cooker! I third it! Although we haven't used it in awhile, we've made pretty great things with it. I think I'm actually going to make turkey chili in it this Monday. 3nodding And not really in the cooking category, but I love love love my french press! I make my coffee in it everyday and it's the greatest. heart

Oh, yeah, the french press! We don't use ours often, since everyone is on a different schedule with work, school, college-----but once in a while, the girls and I will still make time for a "girls' night" and make something great to eat, watch a couple of movies, and make a little press-full of coffee and cookies. It's just special enough----and we NEED that coffee to stay awake! heart
