Setting: We'll say this rp is taking place in the deep woods. The original home of the Herla. This beautiful redwood forest is full of massive trees, lush vegetation and several small, lovely glens where most Herla make their home. This is a serene place, peaceful and pure.  Shen yawned softly, stumbling slightly as he nearly tripped over yet another large branch. He'd felt the urge to do some exploring today, see a bit more of their vast world. It made him feel so odd, heading off on his own like this was uncharacteristic of him. Today though he felt a need for some tranquility, some peace. "Well..it is beautiful..even if it does feel a bit claustrophobic" he muttered softly to himself stopping for a moment and leaning against one of the giant trees as he gazed upwards. The trees seemed to go on and on for miles, as if they could touch the clouds and beyond.
Looking up at them for so long shen almost made himself feel dizzy, giggling at the idea of it, getting sick because he stared upwards for to long! Eventually he let himself settle down, kneeling there tucking legs and tail beneath his body while taking a few moments to just drink everything in. "It's safe here at least" another yawn catching him unawares while he enjoyed his bit of solitude.

Seth's head was submerged in the vegetation as he wandered aimlessly though the forest. Occasionally, he would chomp a shrub to satisfy his cravings, but it wasn't enough. He was searching for his favorite treat, which seemed to be so rare here.
Preoccupied with his hunt and distant thoughts, Seth failed to notice he was invading Shen's boundaries. Seth was gnawing on some bitter weeds, when he saw one of Shen's hooves from the corner of his eye. Startled, Seth jumped back with a yip, spraying freshly chewed vegetation from his mouth. When he felt he was at a safe distance, he came to a halt and analyzed the stranger. Should he flee?

Shen coughed as the other male so suddenly approached him, not even seeming to see him there! Come on how hard was he to see, he was purple he didn't exactly blend in well! Having stayed there tensed up until the other male had yelped and jumped away from him, getting up onto his feet so quickly that he nearly smacked his head into a tree branch.
"Gah..really you know how to startle a guy dont you!" shen huffed, pawing nervously at the ground as he stood there, letting out a few quick breaths while he eyed the other male. "S-so, what are you staring at anyways?" shen asked softly after a moment of fidgeting with himself. Realizing of course that that was a completely rude and stupid question to ask, he should have been apologizing for startling the poor guy not getting upset with him.

Detecting no threat from the young buck, Seth relaxed. "S-sorry. D-didn't see you." He quickly hung his head and pretended to go about his own business, but it was obvious he was too disturbed to do so. He glanced to Shen, then looking away embarrassed.
"H-have you seen any daisies around here? Th-they're my favorite..." Seth asked faintly, not daring to look up again.

Shen shrugged turning a slightly upset glance at the tree next to him. Muttering a soft 'Dont-worry-bout-it' his own way of saying he didnt care even though it startled the heck out of him. Letting out one last sigh before finally looking over at seth.
"Daisies?" he blinked tilting his head curiously as he thought about it.."Yeah actually, I did..in this one spot, there was this felled tree. Just the stump was left so sunlight got in there and..all these bright yellow and white flowers sprung up around it. Ah that's what daisies are right?" he asked a slight smile on his face as he dared to take a few steps forwards. "I dont think, I've ever eaten a daisy."

"Oh! Thet's thare s-there--...!"
Seth blurted out so quickly that his words became a jumbled mess. He cringed in humiliation, and slowly rose his head. Seth's shimmering turquoise mane swept across his face, revealing thoughtful red eyes. He spoke again, pausing between each word to prevent further mistakes.
"Will you lead me to them?"
[Mmm... maybe I'm a little bit late.]

(Pffttt..YOu late? No no no! Haha! Two months isnt late! -pets Q-)
Shen couldnt hold back his soft chuckle at the other males sudden scrambling of words. Of course he didnt meant to embarrass him, not a bit, it was just..well it was funny. It made him feel better though, seeing the other male so flustered made it a bit easier.
"Of course I'll lead you to them..I mean.." he sighed softly getting to his feet "I'd love to lead you to them. I'd like to taste a daisy myself, since you think they're so good." he nodded with a small smile.

Seth cautiously lifted a hoof, eager to taste his favorite snack again.
"Th-thanks. I really... thanks. I'm S-Seth, by the way."
He was more careful with his words this time, stepping a bit closer.
"It's really nice to meet you..."

"Seth huh, mmm your name is soft sounding" shen gave a little bow of his head "I'm shen, and really its no trouble" he smiled as he shifted on his feet, turning away and moving off into the woods, his long tail swishing slowly behind him. "Seth, I was wondering do you live out here?"

Seth trailed behind the other male, ears gently flickering.
He responded strangely to the question. He hesitated, and opened his mouth as if he was about to answer. Instead, he let out a huff of sorrow.
Holding his head low, and keeping his eyes down he kept walking.
Dried grass and bush crumbled under his hooves as he walked, making that rustling sound that broke the awkward silence.

Shen blinked curiously and glanced back at the other male, unsure of whether he hadn't heard seth properly or whether the buck hadnt said a word at all. Really all hed heard was a sigh, but maybe this one was prone to whispering things, he seemed rather shy for some reason.
"Soo I take it you don't live here, because 'sigh' isnt really an answer" he teased slightly imitating the bucks sorrowful huff. Maybe seth just didn't want to talk to him though, not that he was pressing for conversation, the beauty and the quiet of the forest was enough. Mind bubbling with thoughts, conclusions..questions, shen dropped back to walk beside seth instead of in front of him, tail swishing in long strokes as he picked his hooves up high making to prance alongside the male.

Seth gave a half-hearted smirk at the teasing.
"I'm not..." He paused, swimming in deep thought as he chose his words carefully, "the most... a-ar-articulate herla... in c-case you h-haved noetin't nint."
Seth squeezed his eyes shut in reaction to the error, and slowly repeated himself. "Haven't noticed."
Seth faintly smiled as Shen walked beside him, and made a lazy effort to keep up with his prancing.
"S-sorry... If I seem rude..."

"No, I haven't noticed at all really, I just thought you were shy. Then again I'm pretty oblivious to the obvious" he chuckled giving seth a small playful nudge "It's nothing big if you ask me, I mean honestly a look can say just as much as words if not more...I was just worried that I was bothering you" shen snorted shaking his head in answer. Rude? Hardly, at least now though he could understand seth a bit more, the buck simply didn't enjoy talking..or..err maybe better termed he didn't want to deal with the speech issue for fear of things. Feh he could understand that completely.

Seth showed his appreciation for Shen's understanding with the first true smile he's presented all day. [or should I say all TWO MONTHS]
He faintly returned the playful nudge, gently bumping his head into Shen's purple flank.
"Y-you can d-do the talking. Tell me a-about yu'so-se-- Yourself." Gaining the confidence to speak, Seth's voice rose slightly in tone. His step also gained a little bounce. It felt nice to clear that up.

"Myself huh? I cant say I'm the most interesting, but..alright I might as well" noting the slight upbeat change in seths mood, that smile of his. Small and sweet, gentle..maybe he'd managed to find an interesting friend, through a rather startling meeting.
"Lesee..interesting stuff about me. Ahhn I'm from the swamplands, heh not that thats interesting. Im used to being around water, lots of wet grass and marsh. I suppose at some point I got sick of it out there and started traveling, ya know to sort things out in my head see the world. Heh im glad that its all more then just a bunch of water and rain" he chuckled lightly "I dont think I like trees very much, not these kind at least. There amazing, but there so tall they make me feel like an ant, its a bit unnerving." he added softly looking up.
