How long had he been here? Many, many moons now, seeing as the once rugged looking male was nicely groomed, and dare I say it a little plumper than when he first came to the lands. That must’ve been the good thing about living within a pride, food was almost always in a surplus. Even though Ukir wasn’t one to stay in a land /too/ long, he was enjoying his little vacation from traveling. Not only that, but he was also enjoying the tormenting he was doing to the golden female. It was all in good nature, but the female thought differ of him.

When was that retched male going to leave the lands? Almost every day Vi ran into the fat lump, regardless of how hard she tried to avoid him. In fact, she was sure he was stalking her just because he knew how much he pissed her off. Ever since that friggen mistake with twisting he ankle... the gods have mercy on her! Surely it has been some cosmic joke, making it so the red b*****d had been the only one there to take care of her. She curled her lip just thinking about it, stalking through the grass. Caught in her thoughts as she was she'd forgotten completely the zebras she'd been stalking, forgotten even to watch where she was going.

When she finally was wise enough to glance around the snarl had slipped away from her features, replaced with annoyance and slight nervousness. s**t, where was she? To the left... nothing. To the right... nothing. Behind her... ah! So priderock was back that way... way that way-

She hissed as she suddenly was reeling forward, having forgotten to look back in front of her. Apparently there had been a short drop from a small cave in a hillside. And now she was tumbling right down the hill- thunk

whatever had stopped her rolling had hurt! She groaned and snarled slightly, her head spinning and her eyes shut tight.

The crimson lion was lying currently at the base of the hill. When he heard the sound of something big shuffling amongst the grasses above, his brown eyes glanced up. Speak of the true devil, there she was…and it looked like she wasn’t haven’t the greatest time. He didn’t move as the body continued to aim towards him, nor did he speak. What could he say? Hey, watch out I’m here? It didn’t matter because just as soon as he got up to move, their bodies would clash onto each other. He remained still.

When they hit, Ukir braced himself slightly. The lioness didn’t cause too much of an impact, but the way she had snarled when she stopped caused the adult male to grimace. “You okay?” He asked quietly, not moving.
Ukir feared if he got up while the lioness leaned on him would just cause her to hit the ground. After all, he remembered rolling down hills when he was a cub always made him very dizzy until he went to do it again.

Vi really had to start watching where she was going, it was becoming a very bad habit to trip and fall. A habit she wanted to get rid of as quickly as she could! And hearing the voice that asked her if she was alright didn't make matters any better. Why was he always there? Especially when she needed help... Oh her brain must have been knocked against her skull too hard! To actually be thinking that way, even if it was just private! Still, it took her a moment to open her eyes, to quickly disregard the thought of how lovely the warmth of his body was against her own, and then she pushed back, one paw (the paw she had not sprained all those days ago) against him before she twisted and squirmed, finally stopping when she was a good bit away from him and flopping onto the ground with a 'hmf' sort of noise spilling from her throat.

"Yes." she finally said, realizing it never did her any good with words of trying to banish him or calling him names, so she might as well not even bother. Right?

Not to mention she still hadn't thanked him about the whole ankle ordeal. She rose to her paws and shook her head, eyes floating back toward the hill. Damn the pridelands! Damn it's hills and holes, seemingly out to get her!
"I wasn't looking for you, but seeing as the gods think it's amusing to make me run into you as often as I could I figure I might as well extend my thanks for... the other day." The apology was mostly muttered, and she didn't even look at him! Oh she was a piece of work!

“You should really be more careful. You could have been seriously hurt,” Ukir said with a frown, his tone was caring. But after that little sentence, the crimson lion smirked, seeing and hearing she was alright. “You weren’t looking for me? You know, you have a difficult way of disproving this.” His tail hit the ground in a little thump, grinning from ear to ear. At her next words, his head tilted causing silver locks of mane to flop over chocolate brown eyes. “Oh…umm…” He was at a lost for words. Was she actually…thanking him? “You’re…welcome…?”

Awkward.

His eyes averted to the hill she had tumbled down, tilting his head again in curiosity. “How did you manage to fall down that, Kitten?”

He didn't need her to be careful! She knew. He didn't have to treat her like some sort of cub, it infuriated her! Plus she didn't like the fact that he sounded like he actually cared if she was hurt or not. Though it was probably because last time he had to take care of her. "I'd only be searching for you in your dreams, moron." She growled out her words, eyes narrowing as she stared at him. About half the time he was the one bumping into her, anyways.

She raised one brow as he suddenly became a bit awkward and a slow grin began to creep onto her maw. Well if she thought a thank you would make him uncomfortable she would have used it to her advantage earlier. Still, it was short lived because he was looking up the hill she'd just come tumbling down. kitten. Damn him and his pet names, she hated them so much.

"I had been searching for my way back to priderock and didn't see it in front of me. The hill." She muttered, her muscles tensing as he watched him, swearing to herself she'd swipe her claws across his face if he decided to say anything about it, she wasn't quite in the mood.

Her daughter had told her she was in love the other day, and with Dahabu of all lions. It wasn't that she hated her daughter's choice of mate, but she'd raised him and didn't really think he was that suitable for her girl. She sighed deeply and frowned, her gaze moving off of Ukir. Which would mean... she would have grandcubs at some point. She didn't much like that thought, but could only hope Ki would birth some strong girls.

“Maybe I am dreaming them. Or, better yet, maybe you are the one that is dreaming?” He took this moment to circle the female, swaying his head from side to side, as if he were daydreaming. “What if I am just a figment of your imagination, in which you keep creating to satisfy some sort of craving you have,” he gave the female a wink, chuckling softly.

“Searching?” Ukir tilted his head. “But I thought you lived your whole life here. One would know all the nooks and crannys, let alone where a simple hill was.” At least, that is what Ukir thought.

“…How is your paw?” Here was the part he was caring for the female. She didn’t look to be limping much on it, which was a good thing.

She scowled as she said this but for an instant her mind worried if that might be true. It was actually a rather foolish notion, especially since he was so damned annoying. As he moved around her her 'good' paw tensed, as if she might want to give him a whap against his skull. She leaned toward him, eyes narrowed. "You couldn't satisfy any part of me, especially not my mind." She growled softly, and it was hard to tell if she was implying he couldn't satisfy other needs, as well.

And now he was just implying that she was stupid, or lacked common sense.
"Sorry my mind was on other things."She spat, sighing. She really was too tired for this s**t right now.

And he was so damn confusing, always teasing and what she considered to be bullying, and then he'd ask about something like her damned paw. It could be out of concern, but it could also be that he was once again poking fun at her somehow.
"It's... better. Luckily I think it will be back to normal in a few more days, it wasn't as if I'd broken it or anything.".
PostPosted: Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:03 pm

At her words, Ukir gave a little smirk. No, he wasn’t going to /imply/ anything, but his mind sure was going in a certain direction. Finally, he couldn’t stand it and spoke the words that he was holding inside. “How would you know Sweets?” he stretched forward, giving her a playful grin as he wriggled his bum in the air. “You never know, surprises come in all shapes and sizes,” he winked, returning to his normal ‘standing’ position.

“Excuses. Go ahead, say your mind was on me, I won’t get mad.” He watched her for a second, nodding ever so slightly. “I promise.”

But then his tone was serious once more. “That’s good to hear,” here came the joking manner of the adult male, “I don’t think you’d be able to hunt on a gimp paw then. I would just have to stay here and take care of you. Oh, what a shame.”

Damn, she hated those pet names! Still, she wasn't about to back down from a game she'd started. She raised one brow and gave him a once over. "Doubtful." She muttered, but really couldn't think of anything more to say. Actually, it might be nice to spend a night with a male now that her cubs were fully- Her eyes widened and her face became slightly shocked as she wondered what the hell she was thinking about doing with him of all lions!

She slowly sat herself down, growling. Oh, she should just walk away! Still, she couldn't bring herself to do it. No, part of her wanted to be here, had come to enjoy the bantering quite a bit.
"If your name was Ki and I happened to have given birth to you then I would say that yes, I was thinking about you. But seeing as that isn't the case I can happily admit you were the farthest thing from my mind." Though she seemed to look a bit embarrassed, because as she actually recalled the moment she realized she had been thinking of the red male. How sickening!

She curled her lip and made no reply to the last, she would never let him take care of her! She had Ki for that! And even Koy if she was really desperate... but that would mean making up with her best friend and... well that was pretty unavoidable these days too, what with their two 'cubs' joining together and all. She would even rely on her sons before asking this oaf for help again- not that her sons were very... capable. But she had been the one to raise them as such.

“Well…technically my name is Ki. You see, Ukir. Just take off the U and the R and then you have your Ki.” Ukir was clever like that, twisting Vikali’s words to fit his own needs. But unfortunately, he wasn’t born from her. That would be a very scary thought actually. After all, with all these pet names he was giving her; that was creepy. A long silence followed.

“What do you have against me anyways?” he asked after the pause. “Are you that territorial?”

She snorted. And sighed, a hint of a smile actually showing on her maw as she shook her head- what, was that ice finally starting to melt? "I'd really rather not think of you as my daughter. You look nothing alike." Which also wasn't true, curiously enough the red of his pelt was very much like Ki's. Vi really had no idea where the red came from, though if she thought back long enough she could remember the rogue she'd coupled with having red on him as well.

Have against him? She watched him carefully, wondering if he was really all that concerned with if she disliked him or not.
"Not particularly." She said carefully, still watching him. "Rather you're very good at pissing me off." She shrugged, surprised she was being a bit honest with him.

Ukir shook his head. “You need to get a sense of humor then.” He took a step forward. He disliked seeminging to be hated by someone. It just wasn’t his thing. Sure, he joked with this female, and she seemed to /joke/ back (to an extent that was) but he just was a little tired of her cynical attitude at the time. Maybe it was just getting late, and he was grumpy for not having a cat-nap today.

“Well, you should be happy now. I think I’ll be leaving tonight.”

By leaving, he meant leaving now. He’d be back in a few days. Possibly tomorrow even, but the golden female didn’t need to know that either.

She had a sense of humor! She pouted slightly, but said nothing. And then he announced he was leaving! She stared at him and frowned slightly, eyes narrowing slightly as she became puzzled.

Was he... was he really serious? He said he would leave often, or rather implied it... and she always was telling him she would leave...
"Why?" The word blurted from her mouth before she could stop herself, and she actually sounded quite upset. She coughed, trying to cover up the feelings she'd let leak and grunted. "I thought you'd keep your lazy a** here forever. It's about time." that should cover nicely.

He stopped moving forward, hearing her sudden outburst. He was about to turn his head, saying if she really wanted him to stay, then he would. However, that wasn’t the case. The upset tone was soon replaced with her normal voice, and he continued on forward. “I’ve grown tired of this place.” It was a lie. He actually liked the Pridelands very much. Not /many/ hostile lions, plentiful of food, life was just good. He debated his next lines. If he said it, he would say no more in this conversation.

…He would have to apologize though when he saw the female again though. He couldn’t stay upset at her forever.

“…I’ve grown tired of you.” Yep, he would apologize the next time he saw her. This wasn’t at all true, but maybe it would strike a nerve with the golden female.

Well she could understand that he was getting bored with the pridelands but... wait, he was bored with her? She stared dumbly at his back for a moment, wondering why the comment had hurt of all things, and why she should be the one entertaining him in the first place.

She frowned deeply, taking a step forward, but then she hesitated, huffed and turned in the other direction. Fine, why the hell did it matter? It wasn't like she was actually sad he was going. No, this was what she wanted. She was ecstatic! Or so she told herself.
