Here you will find a collection of materials and metals used by the G.F. and other forces for their structures and armors. This is also helpful to know what is made of what, and to build your own armor:

We would also like to remind you that changes, additions, and removals may occur in the Federation archives, so may wish to rere
ad this everynow and then when it's noted for being updated.

Steel- A common metal used by the G.F. for use in basic containers, making weapons and some armors. Lighter than most, it is easily damaged by standard weapons fire. (Ex. Power Beam)

Energized Steel- A stronger type of steel often used in Federation Marine Armor. About as light as Steel, it is more resilient to standard, and other, weapons fire.

Energized Steel-Titanium Alloy: A very resilient alloy used in the armor of higher up marines and in higher tiers. It's very strong against weapons fire and yet is only slightly heavier than energized steel

Chozo Biometal- A rather uncommon yet powerful metal, Chozo Biometal is adaptable and sturdy. An example of it's use is in Samus' Power suit. Being rare, NOT EVERYONE CAN HAVE IT, so don't bug us on it.

Kriken Biometal- The only reliable source of biometal comes from the Kriken Empire, and is the primary component of most of their weapons, armor, and vehicles. It's not quite as sturdy as Chozo Biometal, but it is much easier to produce and replicate. The only problems come from acquiring it, since A) it's in hostile territory and B) most stuff using biometal is hand-crafted by select Kriken artisians.

Dezium- A strong metal that is heavier but near impenetrable by standard weapons. Basic explosives may damage it. (Ex. Missiles or morph ball bombs, though the later is exclusive to Samus). Used in structurs but also can be used in armor, most often by heavy weapons specialists who carry the more damaging weapons with slightly stronger armor at the cost of slower movement and inability to use jet packs or other non-ship related flight capabilities.

Bendezium- Heavier and stronger than Dezium, it is strong against basic explosives, but can be damaged by high grade explosives (Ex. Power Bombs, or some sort of rocket launcher). Used for structures though can be used on armor, too much Bendezium on armor makes one slow or immobile.

Jovian Steel- Made on Jovia XII, Jovian Steel is amasingly strong, to the point where heavy weapons can't penetrate it. It should be Noted the Galactic Federation Base on Norion was built primarily of Jovian Steel, a good example of the metal's endurance.

Maldium- Strongest metal known. Unable to be used in armors, it's more fitted for war machines such as ground based artillery or even some large battlecruisers. Impenitrable by infantry weapons, High grade artillery or High Grade Vehicle weapons may damage and destroy it ( Ex. Ship Missiles or some sort of Tank shot)

Afloraltite- A crystal that was mined on the Earth colony K-2L, where Samus is from. A good fuel source for ships, it has become harder to find since the destruction of K-2L. Highly unstable, it can be used as a weapon if shot at, or even used as ammunition for a sort of grenade or flame thrower. The G.F. uses Fuel Gel more.

Fuel Gel - " Description taken from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Logbook":

"Fuel Gel is used to power most modern starships in the cosmos. It is extremely rare, and worlds that produce it tend to be quite prosperous. The exception to this is planet Bryyo, a Federation protectorate--and the largest supplier of Fuel Gel. Proceeds from Bryyonian gel sales go directly to the Federation military forces protecting that sector of space.

The sheer value of Fuel Gel is very attractive, and has led to an uprise in piracy over the last 20 years. Today, raids on gel transport convoys are common, especially in frontier regions of space. The Galactic Federation has increased antipiracy operations, and planets with Fuel Gel resources are protected by Federation fleets and ground forces. "

Phazon: " Taken from Metroid Wiki as it has a god descrption. It should be noted that Phazon has since been destroyed thanks to Samus Aran and ourselves at the Galactic Federation." :

Phazon is a highly radioactive substance originating from the planet Phaaze, known for its extreme mutagenic and energy producing properties. Strangely, it's not only a radioactive substance, but also an extradimensional living being. The substance Phazon has been responsible for the near-destruction of two worlds, Tallon IV of the Chozo and Aether of the Luminoth. In both cases Phazon arrived on the planets via interstellar objects, now known to be Leviathans. On Tallon IV the Phazon devastated and poisoned the ecosystem, eventually destroying the Chozo society that existed there. In Aether, the Phazon Meteor struck the planet and split it into two dimensions, driving the planet and its inhabitants into turmoil. " -end of description-

(Fanon Info Starts Here)

Phazon had once been used to temporarily upgrade Soldier's skills and weapons with phazon, but the technology is useless now that it is gone. It should also be noted that Humans seem to have had a stronger resilience to Phazon Corruption, as the other Bounty Hunters hired for the incident became corrupted long before Samus Aran was even close.

Phazite: A stronger, solid version of Phaazon. It was used by the Space Pirates extensively to cover doorways and other secrets. It can be Penetrated by finding the switch behind to remove the door with an X-ray visor and the Nova Beam. Always blue, though Red Phazite was used to make near unbreachable armor for Space Pirate Commanders. As with Phazon, Phazite has been wiped out due to the destruction of Phaaze.

Energy Cell: Used by the Galactic Federation ( or when stolen by Space Pirates) to power doorways and other machinery. Filled with alot of energy that is capble of reproducing itself, it allows for being able to keep something activated whenever you need it. May also be used to increase power of weapons, though this has yet to be tested,

Energy Tanks - Created to extend the functions of A Federation Marine's suit as well as to help heal wounds or repair their armor, it has since become well used throughout the universe, as it has been found in many different worlds. May also be capable of powering weapons and machinery, though this is unknown.
