Amarantha stood on a high cliff, looking over her new home as she held her little daughter in her arms. She sighed, softly, as for a moment, memories of the past overwhelm her, making her tremble, her face contract with sorrow for a long moment. After she controlled the memories, she looked down, at her daughter, and smiled sadly as she searched for the features in her daughter that came from her passed mate.
Ceana was sitting happily in her mother's arms, burbling as she gazes up at the moon. "Muh...muh... muhn!" She gabbled out, causing her mother to smile a little happier, as Ceana reaches up towards the moon that shone down on the pair.

Antigonos watched the two females from his perch behind them. Climbing down with the silent steps of a hunter, he approached with care and slide a hand upon Amarantha's shoulder. He knew he had little reason to be welcome in her gaze, but he was. He had been an exile of their old clan, he had been the one that brought her here in insults and taunts.
He dearly hoped he would not have to do such childish things now, no child needed to see such pain in their parent's eyes. The female had her right to grieve, but not upon the presence of her daughter, at least not now when she couldn't help her grieve.

Rantha half jumped at the touch, and turns, her eyes wide. She stares, then her brain processes who it was. She was still on edge at surprises, which was fairly understandable. "Oh... Antigonos. How are you?" She smiled a little at him. For all of the unhappiness she went through, she knew what she owed him, and was quite grateful to him, if nothing else.
Ceana made a startled noise when her mother jumped, then waves her arms at Antigonos, babbling out "Auntie! Auntie! Gbabbab mnga habba Auntie!"

Antigonos smiled softly at the two of them. "I apologize, I did not meant to startle you." He rose his hand back for a moment, then forward, patting the hatchling's head gently, brushing her hair gently with his clawed fingers. "Close enough." He whispered softly with a chuckle at the child's babbling.

Rantha nods. "Of course, Anti..." She murmurs, then softly laughs at his words regarding Ceana's baby speech. "I'm working on it, trying to get her to pronounce things right. She'll get there eventually. In the meantime, you're Uncle Auntie, which amuses me."
Ceana giggles and waves her arms more, happily, at Anti's patting. "Baba mugga munmunmun!"

"I am sure it does." The male gargoyle gave another chuckle. He tilted his head a bit. "Did that meant anything or is it just happy chatter?" He continue the gently patting and combing of the girl's hair. "You are too adorable for your own good...Soon I am going to have chase young males away from you....or restrain you from chasing them..."

Rantha looked mildly amused at Anti's protective reaction to Ceana, but doesn't comment on it. "I think Mun is moon... she's said it several times when the moon is right in sight." She beams down at her. "She's learning well."
Ceana reaches up and grabs, with a baby's weak fists, at Anti's hands, making a soft cooing sound, her eyes big and happy.

Antigonos nodded his head slowly. "I see, she's quiet the smart lady then." He spoke as he let his fingers be grabbed into the little fists of the child. "Quiet talkative as well..."

"Yes, my dear one is." She smiles down at her daughter, her eyes soft and full of love at that moment, thinking only of how proud she was of the beautiful little girl. "She'll be quite something someday."
Ceana giggles and wiggles, pulling and playing with Anti's fingers, her eyes bright.
