 Rose sat outside the den, watching the sun rise in the sky. Aradel was still asleep in the den when she woke up so it was good time to take in the new day. It had been a while since she met Aradel and even longer since she left home. But she was happy with him, more than she ever was before. She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes as a refreshing breeze blew through her hair. She lifted her chin and laughed to herself as it tickled her furr, her laugh echoed into the cave.

Aradel was fast asleep on the cave floor, fully stretched out on his stomach when his mate's laugh echoed through the cave. He jumped slightly, then relaxed as he recognised the laugh. With a stretch and a yawn, he stood and headed out to find his mate. He found her sitting by herself. An idea formed in his head and he trotted off hoping she had not spotted him.

She opened her eyes back up and looked at the sun "What a lovely weather for a day like today." she said and waved her tail, her flakes moving gracefully behind her ears. She sighed and stood up, stretching out her front legs "I wonder if Aradel's up yet." she asked herself, still staring at the sky.

Aradel snuck past her, then ran off to a large field once he was out of her range of hearing. He grinned as he started moving several things around, working on making something special for his love. Today was such a wonderful day. Perfect for his surprise.

She shook out her hair, completely missing Aradel sneaking past her. She turned around and walked back in the den "Aradel? You up yet?" she called out, looking for him. She flicked her ear when she saw him not in their sleeping spot and turned around "Where'd he?" she asked herself and walked back outside "Aradel?" she called out "Where'd you go to now?" she said and jumped down from the rocky area "Don't you remember what today is?" she asked, putting her ears back as she walked.

Aradel had just finished his gift when he heard his name called by his mate. She was getting close. He trotted over to her and smiled brightly. "Goodmorning Rose. I have a surprise for you." He took her paw in his and smiled warmly. "Close your eyes and no peeking." He slowly lead her to the special place.

She jumped a bit when he came to her "Oh, there you are." she said and looked at him "A surprise?" she asked, tilting her head "Ok." she closed her eyes, raising her eyebrows curiously as he lead her "What is it?" she asked, feeling giddy and excited. She didn't remember ever getting a surprise present before.

He grinned as he lead her there, then stopped and smiled, facing her. "Open your eyes Rose." He nuzzled her cheek as she would see the large flower filled area. In the very center were a large patch of red roses formed to shape a huge heart. In the center of the heart he had set it out to say "Rose and Aradel Forever".

She slowly opened her eye, peering through and then opened the other one. She gasped when she saw all the flowers and the heart "It's beautiful!" she said, her eye shimmering and she looked back at him "I love it." she looked back and slowly walked in the flowers, looking at the message in the roses. She wiped a tear from her cheek with her paw and turned back around to him, running back and putting her arms around him.

Aradel happily held her close in his arms, nuzzling her neck and cheek. "I love you too Rose." He purred as she looked at it, smiling warmly. "I'm so happy you liked it. I've planned it for several days." He smiled at his mate, adoration in his eyes. "But they are nowhere nearly as beautiful as you my love."

She blushed, nuzzling her face in his warm mane to hide it "You're embarassing me and no one's even around to be embarassed for." she said and laughed, her voice muffled by his mane.

He chuckled, holding her close as she burried her face in his mane. "Your cute when you blush you know." He was very lucky to have her. That was a fact he knew too well. He let her stay there for now, smiling warmly.

She peered up at him "Ahh, you can tell?" she asked, blushing even more. His mane was so soft and smelled so good. She rubbed her cheek on his "Thank you so much for my present." she said and licked his cheek.

He smiled and licked her cheek, nuzzling her when she nuzzled him. "It's the least I could do for you. I love you so much Rose." He looked into her eyes, smiling brightly. "You are the warmth in my heart. You are the missing part of me. Rose...your an angel." He nuzzled her lovingly.

She smiled "And you are my knight in shining armor, whisking me to my ever after." she said and giggled, looking back at her present. This was truly the best gift she had ever gotten. She rubbed her cheek with the side of her paw, wiping away another tear.
