Ok, you guys, so, I have a few questions. So, I'm tired of being overweight and am trying to do something about it. I have done a few things so far. I've given up soda, so that should help a lot, I've been drinking more water now too. Anyways, on to my questions, I really want to lose weight, but i'm not sure what kind of exercises I should be doing. Most of the fat is around my lower stomach, thighs and butt x_x sweatdrop ; I have also found out that i have very little upper body strength. So, what are good kinds of exercises that could help?
Also, I have another problem, eating when bored and/or depressed. What are some good ways to keep myself from eating when I get bored? I also tend to eat more when I'm depressed. Which I have been a lot recently. >.<, so I tend to want to eat more.

I used to be clinically depressed, but I've been playing DDR for four years now and the more healthy I eat and regularly I exercise, the less I am sad and stressed.
There is no way to rid yourself of "trouble spots", such as belly fat; cardio is an all-over essential, and targets tummy flab the best.
Do some cardio [DDR, jumping jacks, walking] for a half hour at least three times a week, and then strength training [sit ups, bicep curls, et cetera] two times a week. Muscle burns more than fat! :3
I have a hard time drinking loads of water, so i have a huge variety of teas. I readily suggest you drink green tea, but only have the decaffeinated version after two PM so as to not cause insomnia.
I'm trying to lose weight, too, and I've found it takes a while to integrate in all the healthy stuff; very difficult to do it all at once. Go slow, baby steps, at your own pace.
And I'm glad you've decided to get healthy. :]
OH, and if you're bored and it causes you to eat ... Go walk around, leave your wallet at home. Brush your teeth. Read a new book, brush up on something that interests you. EXERCISE! x3"If your stomach feels weak my work here is DONE."

Leaving your money at home is a great way to not snack during school/work. Like. Seriously. That's what I've been doing for a while for work and it's really been working.
And tea is a wonderful wonderful thing. I have loose leaf and tea bagged and ... well. I could start a lyrical mess, but no one would love me then.
If your fat is on your lower half then you're lucky, because those are the areas that are easiest to target on a cardio machine. If there's a pool near you, you can usually get a set of tickets for the pool gym, and get into the pool on the same ticket as going in for the gym. Two for one!
AND if you've got a pool you can check out if they have aquacise classes, cost of admission and a great work out. If that's not your cake, Prevention magazine has a website with lots of exercises listed for you. www.Prevention.com

Unfortunately, you can't really pick where you lose your weight. I was a hhuugggeee boredom eater. Try to keep busy, and if you must munch, munch on carrots, or something not too fatning. There is no miracle answer, it will involve willpower
