He'd snuck away from his other eight siblings and his mother, away from the tree they shared when their mother was on the hunt. Sure, the sun was gone and the moon ruled the sky, but he couldn't sleep. Tangerine eyes looked out at the night's version of his home and grinned. It looked so much more shadowy than before. With a giggle, he crouched and crawled into the tall grasses, attempting butt wiggling pounces at the bugs that flew up.
Now, he never caught his pray, not yet anyway. He was still learning how to pounce, still watching his mother on how to hunt. But he was trying, at least. Large cub paws stumbled over hidden rocks within the grass, causing him to tumble and roll slightly. With a yelp, he landed in a puddle from the rains not to long ago and whined. Great. He was wet. Getting up and moving around the puddle, he created mud and attempted to shake himself off. However, he shook himself so hard he fell over again, causing even more dirt to stain his almost pure white fur.
"Why do I always manage to be the clumsy messy one?" he muttered under his breath, peeking up to make sure everyone else was asleep. Nodding when they were, the pale cubbin moved onwards, drifting further away. He'd pick up his track again to get back home.
"Where is all the other creatures mom always tells me about?" Talking to himself was a way to clear up the silence. He didn't care for the hushed quiet, used to the constant chatterings of eight siblings trying to talk all at once. With a flick of his tail, he jumped up on a large rock and sat there, looking up at the stars and what he could see of the moon. It was slightly cloudy tonight, the scent of rain heavy in the air. It made him shiver; the thought of rain. While he loved playing in the falling water, he hated getting wet. Quite a contradiction.
After a minute or two on the rock, he spotted a hole in the ground and grinned. Rabbits lived in holes! "Maybe momma will be proud if I bring her a bunny!" He murmured, jumping off the rock and crawling slowly over towards the hole. Sticking his nose inside, he sniffed about. Yes, there was a rabbit in there, he could smell them! And, pushing his whole head in, he could almost get to them, teeth snapping. But then the rabbit bit down on his nose and backed up, going out another exit. With a howl, Caide attempted to pull his head out of the whole but blinked and went still. His head was stuck? He pulled again, using all his might, and it just wasn't enough. "Heeeey! HELP!" His cries echoed, but he was to far for any of his family to hear him. "My head is stuck!" Panic written in his voice, he whimpered softly, sitting on his haunches and attempting to pull again, he only succeeded in hurting his ears. "Help...."

Samawi had been sleeping rather soundly, curled up against his older sisters protectively in the safety of their den. He couldn't recall what he'd been dreaming... All he knew was that it was pleasant. And he didn't want it to stop. But then a rather frightened rabbit had gone skittering right past the den, followed by Caide's rather loud voice echoing through the tunnels. The poor cheeton jumped out of his sleep with a small glare, before getting up and wandering out of the den.
It didn't take him long to find where the voice was coming from. He sighed and quickly moved to tug on the lion's tail. Only to realize maybe that wasn't the best way to remove the cub from the rabbit hole upon hearing the poor things pained cries. So he stopped and sat there for a long moment. Tugging him out wouldn't work. The silly lion had gotten into the hole pretty deep.
And then, a brilliant idea came to him. With a wide grin, Samawi trotted over to the hole and began methodically digging around Caide's head. His paws were a big clumsy, as they weren't made for digging, and dirt occasionally fell down into the hole in clumps to hit the poor cubs head... But after a long while, the hole was wide enough for poor Caide to finally pull his head out.
"Next time, don't stick your head in. If you want to check for rabbits, use your paw."

When he was finally free, though his tail hurt, and he had dirt in his eyes, he whined and pawed at them for the longest moment. He wanted to see who saved him. After a moment, he blinked and let his vision clear up to see a very, very odd looking creature standing in front of him. He was filthy, smelled of dirt ad was full of dust.
Hearing those words, he frowned and licked a paw to groom his face. While the odd creature was right, that would be smarter, Caide didn't like his mistakes pointed out. "Why wouldn't sticking your head down there work? I mean, besides getting it stuck. I almost got that rabbit...." It was a weak lie at best.

"Because, even if you do get the rabbit, you might not be able to get it back out," Samawi said absently, grinning at the young lion and sitting down in front of him. Absently, as if by reflex, he tossed his head to get some of his still growing mane out of his eyes. "I'm Samawi'juu."

He stuck his tongue out at the other and snorted softly before watching Samawi, grinning. "I'm Caideiseach. Caide for short." He said, tossing his own hardly there main out of his eyes. "What are you anyway? You're funny lookin'. You live near here? Got anything to eat? Wanna play?" The questions were shot rapid fire, not even giving the other a chance to answer before he wiggled his butt and attempted a pounce. If he did, he'd gnaw on the other's ear. If not, he'd roll, hit a rock near by and whine before sitting up and shaking himself free of dust.

Samawi didn't even have time to think before Caide had pounced and begun to gnaw on his ear. The cheeton laughed softly, flicking his ear and going about answering the lion's questions.
"I'm a cheeton. My mom was a cheetah and my dad was a lion, so I'm a bit of both. I live in a den not to far from here, and we don't have any food there right now. And I suppose I don't have a choice about playing now, do I?"

Tugging on that ear, he shook his head and grinned, letting go of it to go to the other one, not caring if it was covered in drool. Sliding down to the ground, he batted at the other's maw, claws not in sight. After all, he was only playing! Turning to his back, Caide pawed at him upside down and let out his growl. It was a pathetic sounding thing, really. "I'm full lion! I think my family is to big for a den right now. I've eight brothers and sisters. Then it's me and mom. So, that's ten."
