Although winter was still lingering in Zatao, a warm spell had settled over the Region and people has taken full advantage while it lasted.
Ice cream and shaved ice stands opened and winter wear was swapped out for summer shorts, t-shirts and sandals. The public pool near the contest hall was filled with swimmers and sunbathers alike while the beach looked so full that people were over-flowing into the ocean.
Of course, that would never actually happened. It would just seem as such to someone who attempted to come late in the day.
Jen was one of the lucky few who managed to snag a spot while the place was still pretty much open. Staking out a large plot under a few palm trees, Jen started setting up while her pokemon roamed around or played in the waters and warm sands.

It took Jenette a little while longer to get down to the beach, she would be on her way out the door when she remembered something else she needed to grab. Finally they left and she had hightailed it down, she dind't want to keep Jen waiting!
With an armload and a backback Jenette and company finally made their scene. "Jen!!" She called as she attempted to wave a hand which caused her to drop a few things. Thankfully Venna had her covered, she seemed to be one of the sensible ones these days... It only took Nanook a second to smell Aura and he took off in her direction, a silent but happy heart.
Spalding sulked behind Jenette, feeling old and lonely, but Jen hoped it would be good therapy. Necua darted this way and that, eager to get to the water but debating on if he wanted to do that or crawl on Jenette's backback... While Sunny, living up to his name, was preening in the blessed sunshine. He didn't even have to use an attack to make it all bright! Rufio, still new to the family was sticking closet o her trainer. She had no idea what all these people were doing her, made her think of the jungle... Ophelia, denying the sunny day for now, was tucked inside her pokeball.
"We're here!" She said with a giggle as she dropped all of her stuff on the ground. "My... glad we nabbed a spot." Jenette added as she eyed all the traffic behind her.

"Heave....HO!" With a grunt, Jen managed to get the giant umbrella upright and staying still when Jenette came running up to their little pow-wow space. "Ah no kiddin', Jen." She herself eyed the traffic of people before crouching to grab a beach towel out of her bag. "I swear, this place is more nuts that usual. I guess it pays to get up early, eh?"
Out of Jen's pokemon, only three of them were missing. Ace and Aden (her Banette and Golbat) decided the place was too bright for their tastes and vouched to stay in their pokeballs. Aman had simply chosen to stay in his container due to the heat; he wasn't made to stay in hot weather.
Aura has been sleeping nearby when the scent of Nanook woke her from slumber. With a bright bark, she pushed herself into an upright position but remained laying down. If her trainer caught her running around, Jen would have the poor Arcanine back into her pokeball.
Abiba was out playing in the tide pools while her father, Aeon, was helping Jen with the beach stuff. He was currently attempting to blow up one of those giant beachballs but was failing a bit in his attempts.

"Definately!" She agreed and laid out her own beach towel and set down a small cooler. "I brought some lunch! I even have some goodies for the rest of us." She added with a smile and shooed Necua who was pestering her to play with Abiba.
Necua rocketed to the beach and pounced on Abiba, tackling her into the water and letting go quickly he laughed wildly. "RAAAI!!" Spalding smirked at Aeon and raised a challening brow. They were forever arguing about something. At least they had gotten over their kids' relationship...
Snuggling next to Aura and licking her cheek before nuzzling her belly, Nanook was content to sit next to his precious Arcanine, even if she was twice his size. Rufio, still a little shy, paired with Venna, going where she went.
"I love the weather! I was getting tired of the cold..." Jenette said as she sat down on her blanket. "I hope it lasts a while longer..." Closing her eyes and savored the heat from the day.

"Ooooo!" Eyeing the cooler, Jen only resumed her duties when Demyx crawled out of the picnic basket and shook himself out with a light "Por!". He then took off towards the water with his tail wagging a mile an hour. "Hey Jenette, Did ya see the rental shop? They have surfboards for use and I heard from one of them surfer dudes that the waves are pretty big out there."
Abiba flailed and squealed when she was sent into the water. Resurfacing, she spun around and returned the tackle back at Necua. "CHU RAI!" Aeon, pausing to glare at Spalding, finished blowing up the beach ball and smacked it at his "brother" with his tail.
Aura, like Nanook, was content where she was. Enjoying the warm sands and the company of the Ninetales, she kept a watchful eye on the group as the little ones moved in her belly around at their fathers' nudge.
"Argh! Yeah...." Pulling off the over-sized shirt covering her bathing suit, Jen flopped down next to her friend and reached over to grab some soda from the cooler. "Hopefully it's here to stay...that way the snowbirds can go home...finally..."

"Surfing!?" Jenette said eagerly as she was digging in her back for her board shorts. "I've never done it... but I bet it can't be THAT hard..." She said with a grin. Pulling her shorts on she looked out at their group and laughed, they were sprawled out and hogging the end of the beach.
Necua grinned and licked her cheek before splashing her with some water with his tail and running away. After being hit in the face with the beach ball Spalding glared and grabbed the ball, letting electricity spark all over it before he sent it Aeon's way.
Nanook sighed contently, leaning a little more against Aura after nosing her belly again and licking her cheek. They were kind of like the parents of the pokemon, for Nanook barked at Venna and Rufio to stop being such loners and have some fun.
Venna, looking at the water and shaking her head quickly darted off to start digging a hole in the sand, Rufio happily behind her to join in the digging. The two fire pokemon becided to make their own little moat surround island.
