[terms to know/blacklist/FAQ]
-Q- What's with rare items and how do we get them?
-A- Rare items are there to be in game extras, they just exist. Their sole purpose is for gameplay development.
-Q- Can a person learn magic whenever they want?
-A- Not exactly. Think of magical connections as icicles. As you get older the icicles begin to fade. If you use a magic then it's like keeping the icicle frozen, and even building it up more. There are three branches of magic
Elemental Magic- Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth
Druidic Magic- Lightning, Ice, Space, and Time
Overseer Magic- Purity, Energy, Corruption, and Shadow
If you were to learn one magic type in one of the branches, the other three "Like" magical connections would fade slower. Overseer Magics work differently. Learning Shadow or Corruption magics make the connections to Purity and Energy fade quicker.
-Q- Why are Overseer magics so Different?
-A- Overseer magics are more directly connected to the Realms of Shadow, and Light. Shadow and Corruption magics are linked to the Realm of Shadows, while Purity and Energy are linked ti the Realm of Light. It's like adding weights onto a scale. As you use one type of magic it adds pressure onto that side making it easier to use the second "like" magic and harder to learn the opposing ones. If you use each side equally than it cancels out the quicker fades and unused connections fade normally.
-Q- If you can summon shadelings then wouldn't you be able to summon beings from the realm of light?
-A- The realm of light contains three beings Husks, Wisps, and Souls. A Husk is a shadeling that just moved into the realm of light. Void of all connections it's only starting to recharge those connections. Souls are fully charged beings ready to be born into the realm of Ishtmal. Wisps are magically charged beings that aren't fully charged. In order to summon a Wisp you need a higher understanding of both Energy and Purity magics. A Wisp has the ability to enhance a single casted spell directly after summoning it. In short you have to cast a higher level spell to Summon a Wisp and then use it to make your next spell stronger. More trouble than it's worth unless used in a group effort, as one mage summons a Wisp for another mage to use.
