[The Kyn park is an enormous area including the large lake west the assistant lodging and the lake's surrounding area. It is a place where kyn and their masters and mistresses regularly go to hang out, meet others, make friends, make enemies, and hunt. There are plains and forests within the park, and several rivers leading into and out of the lake make the area accessible to aquatic kyn. Competitions are held here (with TorpidPanda's approval, of course), but normally it's just a place to go hang out with others.]
Hadus sighed and flew down toward the lake, keeping his head perfectly level as Lorne perched between his ears, teething on a buck's jawbone. Already, Hadus could feel a significant difference in weight between Lorne (a hatchling European Kyn) and his own hatchling daughters, who were clinging tightly to his mane. The Eastern Kyn prince set down and let the three hatchlings down, then looked up as he saw his master, Ganon, flying down. The winged snake anthropomorph landed smoothly and grinned, stretching. "Mmm, good day for flying."
Hadus nodded and grinned. "Yeah, nice thermals." He saw Lammas, one of his daughters, toddling away and he stretched his tail out and pulled her back. Lorne, meanwhile, hopped over to Ganon and made a scratching little roar noise. Ganon chuckled and picked the little kyn up, making sure to give him the deer jawbone before he sought something else to teethe on.

It was not long before Lorne could fly by himself, and the now-fledgling European Kyn flew to the park unaccompanied a few weeks later. He looked around, flicking his tail, hoping someone would come play with him. The rest of the flight was back at the caves, and he so badly wished to meet someone new.

A yellow blur, twisting and turning in mid-air acrobatics, appeared as a spec on the horizon. The wingless adult Japanese kyn landed at the edge of the forest, where the plains began. He shook out his silvery mane and stretched his talons into the soft earth before lumbering towards the lake.In a more direct path of flight, taking her time to land gracefully, Asayake followed her clutch-mate. Unlike her brother, she settled down in the grass of the plains, stretching her neck out to rest on the soft ground and sun her pearl hide.

Lorne bounded over excitedly and slid to a halt near the two! "Hi! I'm Lorne, what's your name?" He looked between them and suddenly frowned. He corrected himself, "What're your names?" and adopted a slightly dopey grin.

Asayake opened her eyes before picking her head up off the ground to look down at the younger kyn. She chuckled lightly at him, her sunset-tufted cheeks turning up lightly in the kyn version of a smile. "You're certainly rambunctious. My name is Asayake, and it's a pleasure to meet you little one." The only little one she and her brother had ever seen had been when Nishi was little - and full-grown she was still much smaller than Lorne. This size of kyn made her smile, as it looked like he was too large and yet too small to be of the Japanese breed.
Banshou looked over his shoulder at the young one, pearl-colored tail flicking lightly. He issued a snort before turning around to face his sister and Lorne. "Looks like a runt to me."
"Be nice, Banshou," she turned to look back down at Lorne with an apprehensive smile, "Ignore my brother, he's constantly having to make himself look big."
The large Japanese male 'harumphs', approaching to look down on the smaller Eastern.

Lorne blinked and flicked his tail again. "He shouldn't feel bad that I'm gonna be bigger than him... I'm a European, that's how it is." He was already quite large, even for a European fledgeling, quite capable of tackling and pinning an adult Eastern if he so chose. As it was, he raised his haunches, lowering his chest to the ground. "Wanna play?"

((Not to be a stickler or anything, but "Japanese kyns are known to grow to sizes far beyond that of the average European." from the kyn thread. Just think of the Chinese myths of dragons that could encircle the world compared to the western and french and german tales of them being small enough to be killed by a knight. ^.^ I dunno whether you wanted Lorne to be ignorant or not though, lol. *ish thinking of when Banshou was little he was convinced he was bigger than everything*))
Banshou snorted, tossing his mane (which appeared to be a habit of his) and shoving his large head down towards the younger European. "You're nothing but a little small fry, kiddo. And if I were you I'd -"
Asayake, now standing, had shoved her brother rather roughly in the neck with a fore-claw. Although smaller than him, Banshou had still been knocked away a bit, not having been expecting her reaction. "Play nice. Honestly." She shook her, sighing, before turning to look down at Lorne with a small smille.
"As I said, ignore the big idiot over there. I'd love to play with you." She gave a swish of her tail, turning her head to the side slightly. It had been a long time since she'd played games as a little kyn afterall.
The male, grumbling about his pride being hurt, picked himself up off the ground and blinked at the other two kyns. "Yeah... me too, I guess..." Despite all of his show, Banshou had a tendency to listen to his sister.

[There were several types of European dragons, and Lorne happens to be one of the particularly large ones. I really say it all kinda falls to preference. XP I mean, Rabid's gonna RP her kyn as about the size of a small dog.]
Lorne blinked at all this, then snickered. "You remind me of Sakura and Inu. Only Inu's more of a jerk than Banshou." He then bounded a bit away and jumped, spreading his not-fully-developed wings and working hard to get a bit into the air. He certainly was a very large kyn... but he didn't seem to be the brightest.

((True, true. I just took the impression that there was a semi-standard to it. XP))
Asayake giggled and leapt into the air effortlessly, the unknown cause of Japanese flight spinning her towards him in a barrel-roll. She glidded past his shoulder, arms and legs tucked into her body, tail grazing over his shoulder as she came to hover some twenty yards away. Her lower body hung in the air behind her, tail almost grazing the grass below.
Banshou thrashed his own feathery tail behind him before taking off at a run. Strong, though short, legs propelled him after the younger kyn. He launched himself into the air shortly after Asayake had passed Lorne, clearing the large European's other shoulder and landing on the otherside. He skidded to a halt, turning and grinning at the other one.
"Can you keep up squirt?" Maybe one day, someone could convince Banshou that he wasn't the largest kyn out there. Maybe.
((So, obviously, Banshou hasn't changed much since a lil' one. XP ))

hidden within the bushes and trees of the forest, a lunar kyn kept himself hidden from the other dragons. His fur was a gleaming white and in size he measured up to be just larger than an average human. But compared to the dragons in the area he wasn't that big, so he decided to to wait untill he was sure they were gone. At the moment he didn't feel like being pushed around because of his size...

[There is a standard, but there also some non-average. Lorne has a genetic disorder that causes him to become extremely large-- he'll be eighty-five feet, tip to tail, when he's full-grown, with a hundred-thirty-seven foot wingspan. X3]
Lorne smirked and flew upward, then kept going and flipped himself over, racing after them. They were better at maneuvering than he was, but he had a speed advantage, his powerful wings enabling him to use the thermals to their greatest extent-- not to mention the fact that he could use gravity much more effectively. He flew up a bit and caught a thermal, soaring high into the air. He focused on the two quickly, his eyes acting like binoculars, allowing him to see every minute detail, and then he folded his wings and dove. He shot down between them like a bullet, a cone-shaped wake rocking through the air behind him and throwing the two older kyn off their flight patterns. He snapped his wings open, then gave a hard flap and shot up at their undersides, laughing and coming up right in front of Banshou, easily close enough that, had this been a battle, he could have gutted the Eastern kyn.
Lorne smirked and rolled once, lazily, falling into formation a little above the two. "Ganon's been giving me lessons."

((That's one big baby, lol. *ponders your plans for the negative effects of the growth for Lorne* Genetic disorders aren't fun (but maybe they are for your dragon!). *wrinkles nose*
Oi, Banshou was on the ground, on all four feet, and Asayake was hovering over the ground, tail almost touching. If he dove down between them... *imagines chibi dragon nosediving* As funny as that concept is, I doubt it's what you were thinking. ^.^; Yes, I know, I'm a stickler for the details... Sorry much, but... it does effect how I reply... ^.^;
And you're assuming that just because Lorne's larger he's faster. But by the laws of physics, since Asayake and Banshou have narrower bodies and therefore less wind resistance in straight flight, and as gravity acts on all things evenly, the only factor would be thermals and wind resistance. Thermals would work better for Lorne because he's bigger (*pictures giant wings as sails, lol*), but the wind resistance he encountered would be much much higher because he's not streamlined...
Yes, you can hit me in the head now. (but you aren't allowed to hate me) But I am in physics right now, and I do have to know this stuffs to pass the darned class... *rolls eyes. strongly dislikes teacher* gonk ))

[I've also taken physics. >.> My actual thought was that they have less propulsion, since they don't actually have wings. Lorne does. As a matter of fact, right now he's a good size for flying, but when he becomes an adult it'll become a huge struggle for him. And I wasn't quite aware where they were-- sometimes, they DO have to move while I'm posting, anyway. ^^;
And, uh... >.> If anything, he's more streamlined than they are, since they've got all that hair and the flatter faces. He's scaly and smooth, made for diving.
And the genetic disorder will come with, aside from difficulty flying, pain in his muscles and joints from supporting all that weight so much. He'll get tired easily, and will need to rest often.]
[So, uh... *is too lazy to edit his post right now, so just assume he was showing off by flying really fast and whatnot. I mean, really. >.> The Easterns would be much more maneuverable and agile than Europeans, but the Europeans have physics behind them-- namely gravity. It wouldn't make sense that the Easterns could do dives or stoops like falcons-- or Europeans.]

((Gravity effects all things of every mass equally. Specifically, -9.8m/s (squared) in acceleration in a dead fall. Propulsion is something uncalculatable for the japanese kyn because they use innate magic. sweatdrop
As far as hair and whatnot, it's all streamlined on them from the pics (hair moves into streamline when movement occurs, unlike muscle and bone. I mean, think of birds. They're feathery too.) And they do have flatter faces, but it's not flat flat; it'd be a little more wind resistance, but not by much. They have smaller/shorter legs and more serpentine bodies, too. But of course some of that does vary by genetics. ^.^
Poor lil' Lorne! *huggles him and probably gets bit*))
The large male gives a snort, launching himself into the air after the other's antics. Unhindered by bulky wings, he tumbles through the air and past the primary layer of cloud cover, entering where the air thins out. It was easiest to fly here for his breed of kyn, unburdened by the constant struggle to keep aloft that some kyn experienced.
Asayake shot straight up from her awkward position hovering in the air (awkward for one that used wings at least, but straight flight was awkward for her afterall)). Performing a continuous cork-screw, she chased after the young European who was much too large for his own youthful set of scales.
