Ugh..children, horribly enticing creatures. Small and defenseless, with nothing about them but their cute faces and large eyes! Yes those deceptively soft and inviting eyes. Boneshadow could not believe himself when he'd stumbled upon the small thing hidden in the grass. A predator, one that would some day soon be much larger then him but for now was still only a pup. Had he not heard the noise of rustling a soft sleepy sound he wouldn't have come to investigate at all. Of course his curiosity and his pets nagging had prompted him to check it out. The chittering of said small pet could be heard quite well, the rat sitting on bones shoulder eyeing the fluffy creature.
"No snipe that thing is not in the least bit cute.." he whispered to silence his friend, hovering between leaving and staying to take a closer look.

And a little fluff ball he was, busy snoring away in the grass. Peaceful and with only the occasional twitch, the little baby seemed completely oblivious to the fact that he had been left all on his own.
Cracking his itty jaw, he drew in a yawn that seemed to big for his baby mouth to hold, and his eyes fluttered open.
Wait...what was this? The baby's nose twitched with a sniff...could it be? Alarmed, he scrambled to his paws in the tall grass. But before he had time to panic about the fact that his family was gone, his nose picked up on a bigger problem, and his glance shot to the other creature in the grass. "Who are you?!"
Though he tried to make his squeaky voice intimidating, Su was quickly tripping back away from what he saw as an intruder.

And it spoke..Bones had been so transfixed with watching the pup wake up hed completely forgotten about his own standing. It was despite his naysaying, a very cute little pup, with cute eyes even! Oh the humanity of it all! Freezing as the little ones focus became fixed on his presence, ears twitching as he shifted from paw to paw lightly, composing himself. "Ah..ehm.." he coughed glaring at the smirking rodent that scampered from his shoulder. "I'm boneshadow, feh poor little thing dumped here all alone? I hope I didn't startle you to badly" maybe he could still get away if he played nice and innocent. It was almost funny to listen to the little male talk..even his voice was cute, it was hilarious.

"What do you mean??" The creature's comment seemed to startle him even more than its appearance in his favorite napping spot. "I-I'm not alone."
As if to defend his empty claim, the tiny pup proceeded to look over the grass. Though, considering his size and the height of the grass, this was somewhat of a production. He had to jump just to get a glance at the surrounding field, in which he saw...nothing and no one. Nothing plus no one, last time he checked, equaled very much alone.
Oh God...they really were gone...His heart was pounding now. His father had told him what life for lone arnulfs was like, and it wasn't pretty. How would he eat? What if he got eaten?! He cold see it now, poor little him wondering the streets all by his lonesome with no where to go in the rain!
"But...b-but.." Desperate, he jumped a couple times to make sure.
"Oh..." The little male looked just shattered, his lip quivering and his voice tiny as he peered back up at bones. "I'm alone."

Bones had the audacity to smirk, the poor pup he didn't know? It wasn't too rare for little ones to be left to defend themselves, and a male none the less. All about the pecking order, bones knew it all to well..He actually found himself feeling guilty though, after a few moments of watching the pups frantic searching, that little look of despair cross into his features. "Oh dont pout.." he frowned softly, staggering back a step as the pup turned the defeating look on him. All defenses shattering, he'd never seen anyone look so sad before! "No, no..chee..your not entierly alone are you? I mean ah..I'm here aren't I?" what was he saying! What was he thinking, feeling sorry for the pup, he didnt feel sorry for anything ever. It was that cuteness....ahh..the pup was small though..defenseless, could he really just ditch him here after that display?

The pups despair filled eyes glinted with hope at his words. Children were not ones to worry about burdening others, and this little pup was no accepting. Looking up at Bones like he was Jesus himself, the little guy threw his paws around Bones' neck with a relieved cry. "Oh, really?! Thank you! I was so scared that I was all on my own, but you showed up!" The little guy blathered on, his pointed tail whipping behind him with sheer, unadulterated happy.
((Sorry for the delay. My bf called. ^^;; ))

Bones rolled his eyes, looking away from the child, why did he have to have such a cute look like that! Why hope..oh what had he gotten himself into.."Oh not that look either..ach!" a small yelp caught in bones throat as the pup suddenly hugged him, he was not used to being hugged, no affection no love. He didnt do touchy feely moments. The pup sounded so happy though, damn it all.. he huffed, patting the pup on the head likely in hopes to get him to let go sooner. maybe it did, he was unused to that as well, normally a loner, a thief, he didnt go around rescuing abandoned pups.
The little rat snipe's running up from his secured hiding place in the tall thick blades, scampering up one of the pups hind legs to perch between his shoulderblades, this little gleam in his eyes, a triumpant look as he smiled at bones.
Bones didnt want to admit it of course, but maybe he could raise the pup? All on his own..oh what a challenge, but he needed it, a challenge..."You wouldnt survive on your own anyways.." he murmured, having the problem of often falling into his own thoughts and forgetting things going on around him.

"Meep!" In the end, it was the scampering of the little rat that got Su to let go. He jumped back at the startling feel of little feet on his back with a high-pitched growl. "What the..?!"
Obviously, he couldn't look all the way back to his shoulder blades, so his response was to be weirded out, not aware of what was on him. With a baby snarl, he proceeded to rolled his back to the ground. His paws reached in the the air, he scratched his back in the dust, fangs bared. "G-get it off!"

"No! Dont hurt him!" bones yelped as relieved as he was to have the boy let go he couldnt help but be a bit worried for his tiny rat friend, even if he felt it was karmic justice that this sort of thing happened. Bones couldn't stand to see him squished! "It's just a rodent it wont hurt you!" bones actually found himself whining as he dragged the pup away from where he'd been rolling by his paw.
A reluctant sigh escaping his lips as he looked over the area, not a trace of squished or live rat to be seen..well at least there werent any guts.."That, little one, was snipe. He is my companion, youd do well not to kill him? Even if he does deserve it at times.." the rat was just bold enough to be stupid at times, crawling on the pup like that without proper introductions.
An angry squeaking could be heard coming from..somewhere..beneath the grass..It semed snipe was hiding..
