She'd heard so much about him, and was so happy that Fancy had found a good Pidge to settle down with. Oh, how she envied Fancy for that. She wanted to find a good Pidge that was always a gentleman and treated her like she was the world to him, too. Ah well, she supposed she'd have her time in the sun one day. But today was Fancy's day.

As she straightened up around the nest/apartment since was one of the VERY well off Pidge's, she looked around happily. She loved her little green-house like yellow tinted window that curved up from the side and making a ceiling above her nest area, casting a warm glow onto the scraps of carpet she'd found and put down on the little ledge to make it warmer during the cold months. Following the little ridge of a path from her nest there was a little room, an alcove that went into the rafters really and was still covered by that pretty little train station window. It smelled of all the exotic spices and things that she paid scavengers to find for her if they were too far away from home and she couldn't get them herself. It was warm and steamy in there, as there was tea steeping already, and three china white thimbles that her mother had given her once were waiting, steaming away. Ruffling her feathers from the warmth, she looked out the door to see if either Shadow or Fancy was arriving.

"Oh, I do hope they don't catch their death of cold.....that would be terrible. I wonder what the special news Fancy had to tell me was...." she cooed softly to herself, cocking her head as she took a dainty sip from her own Orange blossom and honey tea. She hadn't known what Fancy and Shadow would like, so she had many little things set up for their choosing.

When she first learned the news of her eggs, aside from Shadows, Canterbury and Aria were the first pidge to pop into her mind that she wanted to tell. Fancy's old family friend could wait until later, though - it would be harder to tell her the news. If there was one thing Canterbury was opposed to aside from the lower class, it was mixed breed pidge, and that's just what her children would be. Now Aria, on the other hand...Fancy knew she would be happy for her, no matter what. She was the kindest out of their group, and the least prone to gossip.

Another reason why the nanny was so excited about visiting her tea maker companion was that she could finally introduce her to Long Shadows. Over the course of their many bridge games and tea parties she had mentioned him, sure, but never have the two properly met one another. Yet all of that was about to change.

As she flew toward Aria's nest, Fancy couldn't help but look over t her mate that flew along at her side. Shadows always was a handsome pidge, but there was something about the way he flew that made him all the more exhilarating. "Don't worry," she cooed to him on the way there, "Aria is really nice. You will love her." Just after she spoke those words, a cold gust of wind blasted her. It was a chilly day, but Aria would make up for that. "There will also be warm drinks, so we won't freeze. I think you'll like her teas better than Cafe's; I usually get mine from Aria when I'm in the mood for some." The thought of the exotic drink warmed her up from her head to the tips of her talons, and she hadn't even had any yet. Yes, this was going to be a good meeting, Fancy thought to herself. She just hoped that the young tea maker would take the news better than Cafe would. Nothing could be worse than that.

User ImageShadows didn't really have anyone on his mind that he could tell about the newest additions to his family. The band probably wouldn't have had a very positive reaction to it with the egg's mother and his mate, Fancy, being from the wealthy side of the tracks. There might have been a few pidge in the band that would have been happy for him, but he didn't want to take any chances. Not that he couldn't stand up for himself against them, he just didn't want to go looking for unnecessary trouble. The slate hadn't really visited the band in days anyways.

The soon to be father also hoped to himself this little tea party turned out to be a more pleasant one than the last one he had with Cafe. Shadows smiled at his mate, she practically read his mind. He trusted Fancy's word that Aria was...kinder than Cafe. "It is pretty cold out, tea sounds great."

Aria fluffed her feathers again as she looked out the opening to her cozy little home/loft and trilled happily as she saw Fancy and whom she supposed was Shadow. She urged them in as they landed and she eagerly hugged Fancy, making a soft cooing almost purr of delight as her friend got warm inside. Ushering Shadow farther in, she hung up a scrap of deep red velvet drape across the opening to keep the cold out and to make the home seem a little more pretty. Had to impress the friends and make sure everything looked nice. Smiling at Shadow, she cocked her head and ruffled her feathers, shaking out the cold gently.

"It's so horribly chilly out today. Oh, please come in and warm up, there's hot water steaming in the tearoom. I wasn't sure what you liked, and Fancy tries something new every time she comes, so I left them steaming. There's quite a few brews out though, just pick whichever suits your taste," she offered softly, her voice just as gentle, soft, and airy as it usually was. It was so rare for her to get above a soft remark, even when she was excited she usually didn't shout out. It was nice to finally see Shadow though. As she walked them in and picked up her own white china tea thimble and took a sip, she decided he was actually very handsome. And Fancy had always said he was a good man, sweet, and took care of her well. She blinked at herself and blushed, putting a wingtip to her face in embarasment.

"Oh! Please forgive my rudeness, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Arianna, but most everyone calls me Aria. How silly of me to have forgotten....you'll have to excuse my airheadedness today. I'm not sure what's gotten into me...." she giggled gently, the perfect picture of a petite and mild-mannered lady. She really did know what had gotten into her though. For one, she'd met Spencer, and had been unacompanied by a chaperone to meet with him and the chicks. She figured the chicks watching was enough safety, though she'd thought about bringing Fancy next time, once or twice. But again, it was Fancy's day today. She could wait to give her gossip to her friend when the happy Pidge was done giving out the mysteriously good news.

"Thank you for inviting us today, Aria," Fancy said politely after both she and her mate landed in the nest. Raising her wings up, the nanny wrapped them around her tea maker friend and gave her a warm hug in thanks. Normally, she would have just nodded her head politely, but Aria was a closer friend than that. "Both Shadows and I could use a little time away from the nest, at least for right now..." Her voice trailed off when she said this, and she cast an amused, yet gentle smile over at Shadows. It was obvious what she was talking about was in reguard to the secret.

A day out away from the nest was a much welcomed treat, though. Right now, another one of the nannies was watching over the nest while they were out, just for today. Yet, whenever they would get back, Fancy would go straight back to watching over her home, and the precious little eggs inside. Once they hatched, neither of them would be spending much time away from home; at least, not until the chicks were grown a bit. That reminded Fancy! The secret! Aria had to be just dying to know what it was, so there was no use keeping it from her now. She deserved to know, and now was as good of a time as any.

"Aria...Shadows and I are going to be parents. We have four beautiful eggs back at the nest."
