The Battle System for stardust creatures will be very involved and will probably take a while before it's officially valid to post battle scenes. However, when it's finally ready, it'll be very fun.

Basic Information

The battle system will mainly consist of a one-post-per-action method, and will usually be used between two people (but one person may have to RP their own dustlings fighting, or a random enemy encounter). Level 1 dustlings begin with a set amount of strength, defense, and abilities, but all these can be changed easily through RP'ing, items, and random events. It will depend on dice rolls.

Basic Procedure

When a battle is about to ensue, both participants must post with a die toss. The dice used will be determined by the ability they wish to use first. Say Dustling A wanted to use Scratch on Dustling B. They roll a 25-sided dice. It comes up as 10. Since 10 and lower does 5 damage, 5 damage will be done to Dustling B. The attacker then edits the post, RP'ing the scratch and whether or not it did a lot of damage (depending on the dice roll).

This is still being thought up, it will change and/or be deleted at will.

Abilities

Dustlings, serpents, and foxes will all be able to learn different abilities. They can learn them from training or from potions, and some special stardust pets are naturally born with certain abilities. Abilities usually start off weak but once they get stronger, they get new names and a new level number. For example, a relatively weak level 1 scratch attack may get strong enough with a lot of usage to be called Double slash, where a dustling uses both claws to attack. These abilities always affect the outcome of a battle.

More coming soon.

DUSTLING ATTACKS

+ Claw Attacks
Level 1 - Scratch

Level 2 - Double slash
(A sincere slash using both claws, one after the next.)
---Roll two 20-sided dice. If the numbers rolled add up to 21 and over, it does 20 damage. If it adds up to under 20, it does 30. If it adds up to under 10, it does 40 damage.

Level 3 - Tackle Slice
(A skillful move where the dustling leaps forward, slashes with the front claws, rolls their body into the opponent, then slashes with the hind claws on the exit.)
---Roll three 20-sided dice. If the numbers rolled add up to 31 and over, it does 20 damage. If it adds up to under 30, it does 50. If it adds up to under 10, it does 80 damage. If it adds up to exactly 3, it does 100.

Level 1 - Water spurt
(A simple water-type ability. A dustling with the water element within them may soak up water before a battle in order to use it as an attack.)
