(Devya -> Kaori_luv
Sil'in Drathir -> SkieBorne)

Devya had spent most of the morning watching the sun climb in the sky and the shadows dance across the ground, but now it was half way to the sun reaching its highest point and he was becoming bored. He looked around for his sister, but they seemed to be no where in sight. Devya sighed wondering what they were doing. Then is came to him they were probably doing what he should be doing, which was training. Shu would be a warrior, so she needed to get stronger and Nyx wanted to be a crafter, so she needed to learn to work objects. Devya, has an aspiration to be the best hunter in the pride, so he needed to be quick, agile, and stong.

Devya rose from where he sat and started off to look for something he could practice hunting on. Something bigger than mice, which he was becoming very adept at catching, maybe a rabbit. Devya walked along searching for his soon to be prey.

In the distance, a single figure had roamed far from home in his hunt. He'd spent much of the previous night stalking his prey... practicing the things his father had so graciously taught him. Silent, stealthy... watch the wind, watch the eyes... it all played in his mind as he made a game of it. How long could he shadow the gazelles before they spooked and ran? It wouldn't be long he knew, for they were starting to fidget and prance - signs they could sense a predator nearby.

As the sun had climbed further into the sky, he'd drawn closer and closer... eyeing a young gazelle that was too bold. It wandered far from its mother and was a perfect target. Inch but inch, he closed the distance and then rushed out of hiding. A short chase ensued as the calf broke off and ran in a panic, away from the safety of the herd and into Drathir's eager claws.

As the dust and the thunder cleared, a red and gold lion sat pinning the now dead calf to the ground with a satisfied look upon his face.

Devya thought he had maybe found a rabbit after a few minutes, but thought that it was best to simply practice stalking with so many gazelle around. Devya knew he was too small to chase gazelle and if he spooked one he might be trampled. However, today was not to be Devya's day as another sprang forth from a bit away from where Devya crouched and spooked the gazelle. He stood enraptured and pertified as the gazelle raced pass and the stanger made his kill. When the dust cleared Devya could see him with the yound gazelle pinned to the ground, he was in awe at the red mostly red newcomer. Devya wanted to get closer to the stranger, wondering how one could get so good at hunting. It never occured to him the stranger might not want to be disturbed. Devya inched closer trying to keep his small body close to the ground. He just wanted a peek and then he would be gone.

Blue eyes scanned the area as he licked blood from his lips after observing the demon's feeding ritual. It was a quick glance, meant only to look for competitors or scavengers that had been attracted but he caught sight of the cub. Arching a brow, Sil'in Drathir frowned at the creature "I am not prey for you, Outsider. You are young yet, it would prove nothing to kill you now.... shoo." He waved a paw Devya in dismissal before bending to eat his meal.

Devya couldn't believe he had been spotted, this stranger had very keen sense. Devya did not realize that his color were bright and his stalking while good for a cub was far from perfect. He turned to go and started to walk away, but there was something about the stranger that made his turn back after a minute, making no attempt to camoflague himself. "Excuse me. I am sorry to intrude, but that was amazing. You are fast, and strong, and and wow. I want to hunt like that some day. I want to be the best and show my pride how great I am, just like my sisters!"

His tail flicked happily behind him and he seemed to be ready to burst. It wasn't the first time, he'd met a stranger, but it was the first time he was alone with one and the first time he'd ever though a stranger was so facinating.

Drathir blinked and sat upright, head tilted to the side. The cub had chosen to come closer? Didn't he know he was on demon lands? ... Or at least he should be... The young adult frowned when he couldn't remember the last time he'd come across a marker that had set the boundaries of the pride. "You're foolish but... thank-you. To hunt like this... you must be taught by the King of the Demons. The Aran'shale of the Aikanaro'hini." He puffed up with pride at that, watching Devya with curiosity now. What was a young one doing out alone?

Devya frowed, he did not think he was foolish, but he was happy to be thanked. "You're welcome," he said very politely. Devya's look turned to one of confusion at the mention of a demon, he did not know what one was nor who their king was. "What's a demon," he asked. He wandered if the king of the demons would teach him, if he did he would be the best like the stranger. He thought maybe the king knew how to be fast and get stronger too.

"A demon?" Drathir's grin turned wicked, made moreso by the ichor on his muzzle, "A demon is the strongest, fastest, most cunning creature on the savannah. They are going to inherit the land and all of everything will be theirs to command." Leaning forward, the lion's smile took on a secretive air, "And... I am one of them. Be wary of how you tread."

Devya was scared by the stranger, as he explained what a demon was and he tried not to cower. When the stranger came close his eye went wide at his words, "your a demon!" The stranger was a demon! For some reason it made Devya more relaxed. The stranger was fast and strong and a great hunter, all things Devya wanted to be. He was so sure about them commanding everything, but overall, being a demon did not seem like such a bad thing. "If your a demon, I want to be a demon too. Deyva the demon, best hunter of all! I bet momma would be so proud." Devya wondered what the stranger called himself, he told the stranger he was Devya, but who was the stranger. "What's your name mister demon," he asked giving a curious grin.

Sil'in Drathir laughed at that, "Not just a hunter. And you're not a demon... I can tell." The prince sniffed at the other, "Far too soft. Maybe when you're stronger... just maybe. Then come find me - Sil'in Drathir, son of Aran'shale Verge'lian."

Devya frowned and growled slightly, he didn't understand the not just a hunter part, but he wanted to be a demon and he did not think he was soft. "I will come find you, when I am bigger and stronger. Sil'in Drathir. You will see I will be a demon and I will be a great one!" Devya did not understand why he wanted to be a demon or that being a demon meant he would have to leave his home. Now Devya knew he had to train harder and find other to help make him stronger, so he could be a demon. "Where will you be, where should I look?"

"In the Demon Lands... near the Volcano." He turned to gesture at the familiar landmark, now small with the distance. Hm... he had wandered awfully far... No matter. It could double as patrolling - though encountering a cub was barely worth the mention. "Lok for me where the King sleeps." By then... he hoped to have overthrown Iartuupe, or at the very least cut the arrogant lion down several notches. He was /not/ unfit.

Devya looked to the volcano, where he would travel when he was older. He was happy that it was not to far from home. Devya grinned at his new friend and wondered if he should tell his mom and sister about his future journey. "I will come and I will find where the king sleeps. I promise. What will I do if someone tries to stop me?" Devya wondered if his mom, or brothers would try to stop him and really hoped not.

Drathir grinned, "Tell them you've been called. That the gods have summoned you. Deny a god and risk their wrath being brought down upon your kin." It was true enough... defy Morifaerion and you risked everything, not just your life.

"Okay, then I will come when I am stonger." Devya could feel his tummy rumble and knew he should probably head off to get something to eat. He looked to Drathir, "well, I'm hungry and if i want to grow stronger I will have to eat well. Goodbye Sil'in Drathir. I will see you again." Devya turned and started to head of but then turned to Drathir again. He bowed, then turned away and started off again.

"Goodbye." Drathir didn't even bother looking back up as he returned to his meal with gusto. This was something he'd make a report of... likely to Mori himself. Another demon... a little closer to reigning supreme. He smiled.
