In the forest there is a small clearing, where a lake and waterfall have frozen over, this lake leads into a small stream that in turns twists and turns and generally makes its way through out the whole forest, before finally ending in a gigantic river miles away. But our story does not take place near this giant river, or the forzen over lake, no, it takes place somehwere in between in anouther clearing. Here it is a bright and sunny day with plenty of freshly fallen snow to play in. And in that clearing there is a black male with rainbow colored stripes all along his body. Susan giggled as he hopped and frolicked through the snow drifts, it was cold, but the sun helped to keep him warm. The snow was just deep enough that he could actually burrow through it like a rabbit, and Susan found this rather amusing, and he'd spent the last hour and a half seeing how far he could go with out having to come back up for sun. 10 minutes was his max. As he resurfaced once more for air and sunlight he couldn't help the twinkle in his eye as a cold breeze passed over him. Today, he could tell, would be a wonderful day.

Yasu was traveling the forest quickly, making sure that all was right. The snow had come as a surprise to a lot of creatures and so far all seemed to have gotten out safe. But Yasu felt it was better to double check and make sure. She saw some off burrowing holes in a clearing and went to investigate. She called out to ask if anyone was in the holes but heard no answer. She began to get worried and wondered if someone was stuck inside. She was about to burrow into the snow when she heard someone, and turned to see a black male come out of the snow. "Are you all right?" she called, walking over to him.

Susan's head turned like an owls as he looked towards the sound of a voice. Coming towards him was a blue and white female. He smiled warmly at her as he shimmied out of the hole, shaking off his fur and flicking his stubby tail in an attempt to shake off all of the snow from his fur. He looked up just as the wind picked up once again and the snow that had been laying on the ground seemed to swirl around the female that was walking towards him, making her look almost magical. And then a thought hit him, this snow... they hadn't been expecting it... and he also hadn't know that there were any other Ulaya near him... yet here the snow was and here this female was... "OH MY GOSH!!!! ARE YOU JACKS FROST SISTER?!?!?!" Susan bounded excitedly towards her, his eyes wide with wonder. The statement made perfect sense in his mind.

Yasu took a step back, startled by the energy of the male. "Jack Frost's sister?" she asked confused. "Are you sure you are alright. My name is Yasu, and to my knowledge, Jack Frost does not exist, let alone his sister. Maybe we should find somewhere with cover, and get you out of the cold. I think you are halucinating." She moved towards him and lifted her paw to touch his head, trying to see if he was feverish. "You do not feel warm but you have been in the cold too long. Let us go find shelther." she said, motioning for him to follow her.

Susan giggled and nodded his head. "oh, no. don't worry, i know Jack Frost doesn't have a sister, but i bet if he did, she'd look like you!" Susan nodded his head like what he'd just said couldn't possibly be wrong. "But you shouldn't say Jack Frost doesn't exist, not too loudly! If you do you might hurt his feelings!" Susans eyes widened in slight fear as he followed Yasu and her statment about him possibly hallucinating began to sink in. "Hallucinating?" He asked, worry in his voice. "You really think so? Oh no! Is that serious?"

Yasu tilted her head confused by the outrageous fox. "I am not sure if that is a compliment of not. And I am sorry, but I do not believe in Jack Frost so cannot be afraid of him or of hurting his feelings. And yes, hallucinating can be very bad. That is why I want to get you to shelter and make sure you are alright. Just because I do not notice the fever, doesn't mean it is not there." She continued looking around and spotted a cave. "Let's go in there." she said as she led the way.

Susan pouted as he continued to follow after Yasu. "well that's not very nice, saying something doesn't exist?" He laughed at that thought as he walked alongside he. "what if Jack Frost said you didn't exist?" He sighed as he gave up the argument. "then again, I geuss it's all based on a person's opinion. So you've got a good point there..." He'd tried being smart, and he'd grasped at it momentarilly, but had let it go as he realised there wasn't much to ay on the subject. He nodded his head as he followed the blue female into the cave.

Yasu sighed. "You confuse me. If Jack Frost does not exist, then he cannot say that I exist. And even if he does exist, and did say that, why should I care, when I am likely to never find out.' Yasu found a comfortable spot in the cave and settled. "Let us rest a bit, then I will go out and search for something to eat and come back. It looks like another storm will hit soon so we may want to stock up on food. What do you like to eat and I will try to find it?"

"O-OK, It was just sort of a hypothetical anyways..." Susan became confused the longer this female talked, the old saying, I think, therefore i am, continuously playing through his mind like a broken record. When they finally reached the cave and Yasu found a suitably dry place to lay down, Susan shook out his body, getting rid of all the snow and ice from his fur. He licked at his paw a few times to clean his face and ears which had become cold due to the wind outside. He giggled when he heard Yasu's voice slightly echo, he'd have to remember that if he ever got bored. He looked up at Yasu, his ears going back and forth as if he were trying to register what it was that Yasu had asked, when in reality he was trying to think of how to tell her the only thing he ate was fish... which were currently under what he was sure to be a frozen layer of water... "you know what... I'm not really all that hungry... I dont tend to eat much in the winter."

Yasu stood and walked around a bit to warm up before heading back into the snow. "Well I tend to eat fish so I will be a while. But you are welcome to some of what I bring back." She looked at the mouth of the cave. "If I am not back within five hours, I may be lost or under a pile of snow. Please be careful while I am away." Yasu could smell another blizzard coming their way as she quickly made her way out of the cave and heading in the direction of the river.

Susan's eyes widened slightly as he trotted back and forth in the cave. "well... ok... I'll stay here... but don't die ok?" He gave her a perfectly serious look and in a random act of adult hood, Susan made a fairly serious statement. "Those snow drifts are deep, and your fur matches the landscape for this time of year, so if you get stuck in one of them, you may become lost to the world until spring... so watch your step ok?" He giggled and tilted his head at Yasu with a freindly smile, effectively masking the worry.

Yasu gave him a small smile. "Thank you for your concern. I hope to be back soon." She called last minute as she began running towards the river. Once she got there she began digging with her claws through the ice, but the ice cracked and she fell in. She grabbed some fish and broke her way back through the ice and tossed the fish on the frozen land, barely able to crawl onto the edge. She collapsed trembling and freezing, barely able to move to go back to the cave. The snow began to fall.

Susan really had planned on waiting for Yasu to get back... but his worrying nature had gotten the better of him. After what had seemed like HOURS!!!! (15 minutes) he wandered out of the cave. After all.... it really would be easy for anyone to get lost in the snow; or for someone to fall through the ice. Going and fishing in weather like this was almost asking for trouble. He raised his head as the snow began to fall again, he needed to find her fast or else he probably wouldn't find her at all. When he remembered that she had talked about going to the river he quickly changed direction and trotted towards it, there he saw something blue sticking out of the water... surrounded byy a few fish. Susan huffed as he raced over to Yasu and began nudging at her until finally he grabbed her by the neck ((Like how mother cats carry their kittens)) and dragged her the rest of the way out of the water. He looked around panicking, she needed to wake up, and get into the cave soon, or else she might die of hypothermia!

Yasu must have passed out as she opened her eyes and saw the weird ulaya looking over her worriedly. She struggled to her feet and clenched her teeth in pain as all her limbs were frozen. "Can you grab the fish?" she asked, teeth chattering. She slowly made her way on trembling legs, trying to move her muscles so that she could make it back to the cave but instead, her legs give out and she collapsed in the snow. "This isn't going to work," she mumbled.

Susan trotted back and forth between Yasu and the fish, worrying over whether or not he should grab the fish or stay with her. Finally he decided he would need to try and figure out a way to carry her.... "Um... Uh... Maybe i should try and carry you???" He bent a little low, with his shoulder tilted down in an attempt to make it look like maybe he was strong enough to carry her...
