The male stood himself up with a heavy grunt. His gold eyes scanning the area before he let out a sigh, looking out of the den that he claimed as his own. He swiped a bone away from his path as he started to walk out of it and into the grassy lands. One thing was on the males mind.

Kione.

He needed to find her. He had been craving her company. And on top of that he hadn't seen her in a while. Was she dead? Did she forget about him? He had to know and today he was bent on finding out. It took him a moment of thinking of where he was going to go. "Water." He murmured gruffly to himself before he started walking in the direction of the nearest lake. Where could she be? He would go to her pride, but he wasn't sure if she was there... Or if the kind would drive him off as soon as he got close to the pride. He didn't want trouble. Not at all. What if she left him for another?

He clenched his jaw and let out a frustrated roar. Digging one set of claws on a paw into the ground and dragging it down into the dirt, a growl grumbling from his throat. He flopped down where he was and then looked down at his paws and sighed through his nose. He wasn't that sure of what to do, not at all. He looked down and lapped up some of the water in front of him then sat back more on his haunches thinking as much as he could, thinking about what he could do to find the beautiful shaman that he knew.

The ocelot shaman looked up toward the sky. Her body was cramped from sleeping in the cold, uncomfortable forests. She had gotten lost on her way back to a lake...a very special lake. Stretching her body, she groaned a little trying to get the kinks from her frame. Her body looked undernourished for she hadn't eaten since her journey. Her fur was gnarled from traveling all day from Rellick's pride. And yet she kept going.

It had felt like forever when she last saw the wolf. She wondered if he had missed her or had moved on to another female. She wouldn't have blamed him. Kione wasn't very nice looking, nor was she good company. But, she had made a promise to visit him until he deemed her unworthy, so that's what she would do. Her word was her promise, and she would rather die than break it.

The forest all looked the same and yet she couldn't seem to pin-point a direction until a familiar roar filled her ears. It was like a beacon guiding her home. With an elated roar of her own, she ran forward through the brush before bursting forth into the clearing. The lake was as clear as she remembered, the air cold and fresh.

And there on the other side was the wolf: Lakota. She must have looked a mess to him and yet she didn't care. She saw him, and he was safe. But was he alone? She had started to sprint forward, but stopped feeling fatigue wash over her relief. She tried not to falter, but felt her legs buckle under her as she fell over.

Lakota stared at his reflection, he wasn't that sure of what he was going to do with himself if Kione did in fact leave him for another. She was so understanding. She didn't care how he acted she loved him all the same... He was so glad to have her. Very much.

The large male was about to stand up and start to wander, going to head toward the forest, or maybe even go home. But he still wasn't sure of where he was going to find her. He took a step forward and looked off into another direction that was until a roar caught his attention. His ears perked up. His head turned in another direction. He knew that sound, that voice that roar, he knew it. Kione. That when he saw her. Her body coming out of the forest, she didn't look the best, she looked like she had been in the forest for about ever. It worried him but at the same time he didn't care. She was okay.

He started to walk around the lake, making his way so he could meet up with her. Touch her, just know the fact that she was there, in his reach. He was keeping a slow normal pace that was until he saw her legs buckle, he saw her collapse on the ground. "Kione!" He called out. Picking up his pace quickly and dashing toward her body, it didn't take that long until he was standing above her. Nuzzling her softly. "You okay Kione?" He nuzzled her gently his voice just as gruff as ever, just as deep, but still had a soft tone to it. "Kione you really don't look that good. Come." He nudged her gently offering his body as an anchor for her to help herself up. She didn't look that good at all.

She closed her eyes for just a moment before opening them, the world around her dizzy. As Lakota came into view, a smile spread across her maw. Her nose twitched to catch his scent and his touch verified that he was there. "Lord Lakota..." The female whispered softly nudging against him. She breathed him in deeply relieved that she found no other scent but his. Guilt stabbed her in the chest at the thought of him with another.

Kione kept close, finding her legs again. With a grunt of effort, she stood leaning against him for support. "Forgive me, my Lord. I have fasted for too long...I thought maybe if I did not eat, my sight would be able to find you..." Her voice was shaky and rough, her throat parched with need of water. Slipping toward the lake, she settled onto her belly lapping up the cool liquid for a moment before slipping into the shallows, the water washing over her coat taking out most of the kinks in her pelt. She closed her eyes feeling refreshed again. Opening them, she looked over to Lakota, a broad smile over her face. The shaman made her way over to him, nuzzling the male with a purr, her body still against his for support. "I have missed you, my Wolf Lord."

Lakota smiled at the sound of her voice. He missed that voice so much. He relaxed knowing that she was truly there next to him. Relief washed over him. A smile growing widely on his maw. He nuzzled her gently. He didn't have to worry about her at the moment. That was good, that was very good. He watched her carefully, not liking seeing her hurt.

He grunted himself as he felt his weight lean into him but it was nothing having her lean on him. He was bigger than her and the weight didn't effect him at all. "Don't say sorry love." He said softly, well as softly as his gruff voice would allow. "Don't worry about it." His soft spot was showing very much, but that was because she was hurt. Errr... Weak that was all that mattered to him right now. He watched her carefully as he wandered away from him and made her way into the water, he watched all of her small imperfections wash away. He too was feeling horrible about thinking that she left him.

When she was out of the water and nuzzling him he relaxed, she was going to be okay. He was going to take care of her and make sure she was okay. He was going to make her feel like the queen her felt she was. "I've missed you too, my beautiful..." He purred softly. His soft spot for her showing majorly, however like any other time his body posture was still up and proud, dominating. It was something that he couldn't stop himself from doing, not at all. "You look famished." He murmured softly. "Come I have some leftover meal in my den." He lent his whole body to her for support as he looked toward the den waiting for her to start. "We will catch up once you are in a little bit better condition." He nodded to her his tone a little more strong, more commanding. He wanted to make sure that she would listen to him.

She sensed his posture and heard the command in his voice. With a smile, Kione lent most of her weight against Lakota. He was a strong male, as commanding and dominating as ever. Part of her was awed by him, the other part proud to be in his presence. Flicking her tail, she moved to try to keep with his pace.

Her eyes scanned his- no, their home. It was as tranquil and serene as ever. The sound of food made her stomach growl with anticipation. Kione gave a slight giggle. "Sorry about my stomach...I should have eaten my Lord, please forgive me..." The shaman closed her eyes letting her feet and his presence guide her.

Lakota was glad to feel her body against his. It was a wonderful feeling to him he was glad to have her by his side. He grinned at her before finally making their way to their home.

"Well my love. You cannot control your stomach." He looked around at the den, looking at the leftover meal in the corner. "Eat my love, eat as much as you can." He sat down in the front smiling at her "If you want more let me know." He nodded watching her with the smile growing more on his face. He was really glad that she was here. Glad to see her face in their home again. Very glad.

Kione smiled over to him before slipping over to the carcass. She began to eat slowly taking in her fill. "You have hunted?" She began to tease him lightly still in awe in the fact that he called her pet names. If he wanted to show affection, usually he called her by name. But now, he seemed changed. She felt the love he had for and in return she sent hers. Warmth radiated from her to him as she finished her meal.

After some nourishment, she cleaned her paws and maw, tail flicking contently. "I am fine, my Lord. I promise." The shaman slipped from the meat over to him letting her body rest against his with a gentle purr. "My Lord, I have something to tell you..." She let her voice trail off as she thought, her head nuzzling against the male.

Lakota chuckled at her comment, shaking his head. "I must some times." He grinned as he sat back on his haunches, looking down at his fur, a spot was starting to get matted, that was the down fall of longer hair. He started to clean at the spot before he saw Kione wandering toward him.

"Good, as long as you are better." He nodded and nuzzled into her as she joined him, nipping lovingly at her muzzle and ears. "Really?" He asked, he could feel his heart sink for a moment, for the first time in a long time he felt nervous. Not sure if this was going to be good or bad news. He sat up some hiding is nervousness the best he can by hiding it with his normal dominate self

The shaman immediately noticed his change in posture, giving a light sigh. "No, Lord Lakota. It is nothing horrid...I think." She flicked her tail becoming in deep thought. "I have been doing some research and vision searching, and I do believe I THINK I know why my visions have not been at all clear..."

Kione cleared her throat a moment, taking in the silence before looking up into Lakota's eyes. "I believe that we are to be expecting, Lord Lakota." A bright flush appeared under her gray fur, tail flicking uneasily. How he would react to the news, she was unsure. Though he loved her deeply, she wasn't sure that he, or she for that matter, were ready to be parents. Kione's own had died after the White Plague had attacked her home. With Lakota...she dare not think about all the pain he went through, losing not only one but two sets of parents. Searching him for an answer, she seemed tense, ears held back.

Lakota relaxed slightly and then smiled at the lioness nuzzling her ready more for her news. He looked at her carefully listening to her words a smile on his face.

He nibbled on her neck for a moment before she looked up at him in the eyes. Then the news came. It took him a moment to realize what she was talking about. At first his mind was very much. 'Expecting what'. But then it went back to the few females that he had met, none carrying his litter, none telling him these news... He swayed for a moment letting the news soak. "Your... Wow..." He said more gruffly then normal. His voice full of disbelief for the moment. "I'm gonna be a father?" He was a little excited, nervous more of. He wasn't that sure of what to say or even think. He was going to have cubs...

Kione nodded nuzzling her mate. "Yes, my Lord Lakota, you are to be a father." She flicked her tail idly, belly fat from his cubs. They were to be here soon, she felt them stir within her womb ready for the world. She even felt their minds brush against hers and each others sometimes. The cubs would definitely have a link between them and their mother, albeit a small one.

With a content sigh, the female rested beside her mate. "I fear I may give birth soon, however...so whether we are ready or not to be parents, we must. The cubs will not wait long..."

Lakota looked at her belly in awe. He was surprised. He nuzzled her stomach softly before laying his head against the side of the cave that he was leaning on. He had never thought about being a father. Not really... He nipped at her flakes mindlessly until she spoke again. "Really? Oh my... If you.. Need anything I'm here." He nuzzled her belly gently before nuzzling the back of her neck gently.

Kione smiled as the two cuddled. Then suddenly, her contractions began. Her body felt hot and pain streaked through her frame. She yowled and groaned as the birthing process began. The hours seemed like decades clocking by slowly. Sweat beaded her pelt as she would push the life from within her to the outside world.

The first cub, a girl, came forth toward the world. Kione quickly took the cub between her paws licking the fluid off her baby. Soon the baby girl began to cry, loudly at that giving way to a healthy set of vocals. Kione barely had time to rest before the second cub demanded to be born. His birth, however, was not as quick as his sister's. He eventually came out, but was still. Worriedly, she gently set her daughter near to Lakota and took point to take care of her son. The shaman began to wonder if the Fates deemed her a worthless mother until the male began to breath. When he opened his mouth to cry, no sound came.

Her son was a mute.

Kione could only stare a brief moment in horror before quickly bathing the boy. She nuzzled into him as the baby breathed in and out, mouth gaping as the silent screams tore from within. Once the cubs were settled and suckling, Kione began to sob gently looking over to her mate. "Lord Lakota...I...I'm so sorry...maybe if I...if I..." She tried to find some excuse as to why their only son was a mute, but she could find none. She was scared for him..and for the pride of the male.
